In as much as I applaud the effort of Farouk Lawan team in presentn this report, it is thogtful to note that if the recommendatns of the panel are not implemented (as pple ve so far predcted the outcome), the effort of the panel would have been in vain. I wish the present govt could prove the people wrong. people are sceptical over the implementation of the recommendations of the report, just like past reports have been pushed under the carpet without recourse to what the people thoughts are about the govt. Our fingers crossed. |
Since Nigeria has laws that can not convict criminals, it is expedient to revert to our traditional laws and jungle justices as last resorts in order to rid the country of foreseeable general moral anarchy. |
chuks01: JUSTICE Marcel Idowu Awokulehin who exonerated former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, now serving 13 years jail term in the United Kingdom, has stated that his conscience is clear over the clean bill he granted the convict. No wonder our politicians loot the treasury without qualm and with impunity. When the % of the loots change hand, no lawyer will find it compelling to prove an allegation (against them) beyond reasonable doubt, even in face of stark evidence. Then it is safe to say, corruption has been legalised to a few privileged Nigerians. |
hane:wtf. . .ibori ibori ibori. I can never live with such shame |
Demdem: I respect ur opinion however i will advise u step in cautiously and not so fast. I dont think GEJ has anything to do with this probe. It was strictly a NASS initiative after the people were forced to come out angrily early this year to fight this injustice. I doubt if the house would have even done it if not for the pressures from the protesters. I know the senate did something similar late last year not havent seen any final report yet.We share the same thoughts dude. Me thinks, the presidency is treating the whole issue with kid gloves from the onset. Left for him to act, absolutely nothing will be heard of. The needful must be done if the govt meant transformation. My fingers crossed. |
he should go Okija shrine and swear before I believe. Talk is cheap |
NOI goofed big time. she is part of the corruption that got Nigeria submerged in unwarranted poverty due to the recent oil imbroglio. I expected her [i]([s]as a sane person then] when she took up the appointed to recommend to the presidency the prosecution of the oil sector thieves, and not her blatant option of subsidy removal. She decided to do the last thing first and now struggling to do the first thing last. |
Kilode?!:Just my thought brother. That will amount to duplication of functions and waste of tax payers money. It is a stark embarrassment on the intelligen of Nigerians to note that our leaders are actually poverty of ideas that will move this country forward. How would 2 oil |
egift: Check him out^ All these guys are undoubtedly partners in Ibori's crime. They could all be made to face the law as well. |
Real Madrid wins. Champions league: Real Madrid and and Barcelona (Madrid wins) |
The govt wants Lagos to feel the heat of Boko. Lagos is the easiest place for these boko guys to breach the security. I hope this relocation does not invite them to Lagos. |
ebere1712: How can we call for the resignation and prosecution of justice Marcel Awokulehin. Is there anybody here that can help do that. And what does it entail. These people need to be disgraced and punished, so that others would know that we would not continue to tolerate their corruption. That shows leniency. he should be sacked and his license revoked. he should be made to face the full wrath of the law for gambling with the live of the nigerian people for a meagre plate of porridge. he is a disgrace to humanity |
kambili190: "You're a woman of every man's dream."That is why it is not only imperative but indispensable to marry a wo/man you understand. A wo/man who feels sorry about his actions and you see through h/er soul that s/he meant every bit of those apologies. A wo/man who make promises and you nurse no iota of doubt about his staying true to h/er promises. In fact if your spouse is not your soulmate who cares not only about your physique, but your soul, if your spouse is not your best friend, you are married to the wrong person. From the lady's post, she seems to be married to her soulmate. |
mogbomoya: I was about 10 weeks pregnant when I stumbled on my hubby kissing and smooching another babe at a car pack. Information got to me from the security men that my hubby has been doing that for about a week. They said, he locks his office doors sometimes.+1000 Quite apt to marital life. You are a woman of every man's dream. The bottom line is as a wise lady you don't completely rule out the cheating tendency of your husband, but be prepared to handle it maturely if it happens. If you allow emotion to re-enforce your believe that your husband is all yours, no other woman but you becos you are married, you are however living in denial of reality. |
I think it should be Uyo in Akwa Ibom state. I was impressed when I visited that state last year. Op, you can as well go see it yourself. |
Babzilla: Indeed Sir, we men need to understand that we've come a long way since the days of Charles Dickens. Getting some @$$ is as easy as taking candy from a baby. I personally cant stand that hard 2 get crap Fk it! We're not in the 19th century anymore anymore. If a girl wants me she needs to come get me. Once I begin 2 smell some hard to get sh!+, Im out str8 up.Geez! |
Tony Spike: CHIWETEL EJIOFORGood one. Wow! I never knew this guy was a Nigerian. I love his movies. His role in Salt co-star with Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) is classic. |
omamokta: Gossipper or gossip, make una no dey turn English upside down. Role models kor, gossip ni. Basics007: Who/What's a gossiper? Coming from an On-air-personality? That's sad!Dudes, check your dicco (not Abrahamic edition) very well. gossiper is an English word. It means a person given to tattling or idle talk. A person given to gossiping and divulging personal information about others. |
slimyem: Linda Ikeji and Laila Ikeji are NOT the same person. Thanks slim. My bad. I thought it's her NL pseudonym. Then Laila Ikeji will sure end up like her. Unserious!!!!! |
cenaboy: I broke my viginity with a stranger she ruerd me into it nd since dem am afarid of any relationship . Do I take that as an excuse?Any way, ladies could be very complicated sometimes, and that scares me about perching 'em |
Whoever takes media gossipers and paparazzi reporters as serious people and role models are at their own risk. Toke is right about Linda Ikeji, every piece of info is news to her skewed to suit her reports and her mesmerised audience. |
maclatunji: Where is Linda to come and defend herself?Laila Ikeji |
There is no marital law that says 'about to wed' couples must always be transmitted to church or whatever venue the union will be solemnized in a car (rented or personally owned). It is just like a man tryn to look unconventional to his wedding by draping his native attire instead of the usual stereotyped suits. The scene might be unusual and spectacular but last I checked there is no law broken here. Amazing, people go the length of renting expensive cars for their wedding to their discomforts and comfort of others when they have no means of buying a tire of a car. This reminds me of a dude who wedded, while the wife was conveyed to the church in a well decorated Kia Rio (latest model) the guy was coming in by Okada with his best man. Not that he could not afford a car to bring him, but just does not like group mentality. He likes making his own path and hate stereotyping. I like the couples jare. |
I wouldnt want to rule out chelsea completely from tonight's game. Luck might decides to hug them. Game of football pulls the most incredible surprises |
Naturally, when listening to a partner telling h/er own story it is expedient to cut-in timely to say one or two things or ask question(s) to affirm you are actually giving her the attention and following h/er story. Personally, if a partner keeps mute till the end of my story it is very likely that she is not giving all the attention and with considerable certainty not interested in the story but only pretends to be listening. |
Our laws are toothless. The rich rules our laws while the poor get ground by the law. It's the same law that gives criminals the impetus to hold offices without qualm. We need to overhaul our system ASAP |
