Guy, show your appreciation. Your engagement letter did not specify what gift you are entitled to at the end of the year as bonus. What if they had glossed over and decided to pay only your usual 31days remuneration? Would you drag them to industrial court? Hell no! Consider the attitude of most employers in Nigeria, some feel they are actually doing their employees favours by employing them. A friend of mind works in a corporate office for the last 5years and has never been appreciated with bonus. I am not surprise Fash and his cohorts are working free in the afternoon like modern day vampires just for the singular fact that we don't have laws that bite. I don't have problem with these allegations and the people mentioned. As far as law is concerned, they are innocent until proven otherwise. I consider these allegations as hear-say, until they are substantiated. I am not surprised no relevant anti-fraud agency is interested in investigating these allegations. I remember, before fash re-election, similar fraud allegations were raised against him by this same group, but Lagos State Assembly members swept under the carpet. Embarrassingly, Lagos State has not in anyway support any SMEs, let alone Big businesses. It's all round taxes - from state, LCD, phantom and even partnering with ogun state to some level. Tax! Tax!! Tax!!! with no commensurate growth and development. He is only basking in the euphoria of 'Eko ni baje' being the most popular slang in Lagos. Lagos is better than what we see and feel complacent about. |
