Capt Osakwe was so trusted by Gen Ojujwu that he entrusted his life to him. At the last hours of Biafra, Ojukwu had to make that historical departure from Biafra.

Ojukwu's failure to exit would have been a fatal error of sure death to him. Many other Biafran pilots were ready to do that last flight for the General. But Ojukwu trusted none but Capt Osakwe to ferry him to safety.

A wrong saboteur would have just diverted the plane elsewhere, and the rest is history. Ojukwu trusted Capt Osakwe who delivered him to safety.

Osakwe was from Umuikem village in Onitsha. Any side talk that Onitsha people were not supportive of Biafra is unsubstantiated. Even the chief justice of Biafra, Justice Louis Mbanefo was from Onitsha too. Mbanefo drafted Biafran surrender instrument, and he led Biafra delegates to surrender to Gen Gowon in 1970, Jan 15th.

Rotimi Amaechi, Rivers state governor, on Friday declared that he was Igbo and could speak the language while President Goodluck Jonathan whose other name is Azikiwe could not.

Speaking before a crowd of supporters at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Aba, Abia state, Amaechi said: I am a bona fide Igbo man.

“My name is Amaechi, but President Jonathan who says his name is Azikiwe cannot speak the Igbo language.”

“He says his name Ebele; let him speak Igbo and let us see.”

Meanwhile, Muhammadu Buhari, who was given the title of Ogbuagu 1 by the traditional ruler of Aba, emphasised that security and the economy remained the key issues in his campaign.

He extolled the entrepreneurial abilities of the Igbo, assuring them that his government would create jobs through farming and mining for the unskilled youth while local entrepreneurs would be encouraged.

“The Igbo people ARE hardworking and my government would do everything possible to ensure that the people are empowered,” he said.

“The main concern of the APC is to make sure there are no idle Nigerian youths roaming the streets without jobs

The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the appointment of Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II as the first chairman of the newly-formed State Council of Chiefs.

Against speculations that emir of Bichi, Aminu Bayero would be appointed to chair the council, the governor chose Mr Sanusi to be the pioneer chairman of the council for a two-year term.

Last week, the state Assembly passed the new emirate bill re-presented before it by the governor after a state High Court dissolved the emirates and sacked the four emirs.

In a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Abba Anwar, Mr Ganduje ordered Mr Sanusi to summon council meeting immediately.

“By the powers conferred on the Governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR, by Sections 4 (2) (g) and Section 5((1) (2) of the Kano State Emirate Councils Law 2019, he makes the following appointments; that His Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano Emirate, as Chairman Kano State Council of Chiefs,” said the statement.

“Among other members of the State Council of Chiefs are all other Four First Class Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Alhaji Dr Tafida Abubakar (Autan Bawo), Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II and Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who are also automatic members of the Council, as enshrined in the State Emirate Council Law.

“Also Section 4(2) gives other members as Secretary to the State Government, Commissioner for Local Governments
five (5) Chairmen of Local Government Councils one each from the Local Government Council where the Emir’s palace is situated.

“Others according to this Section comprises at least Ten (10) Kingmakers, 2 each from the Five (5) Emirates mentioned under Section 3(1) of the Law, Chief Imam of each Emirate.

“Other members include a representative of the Business Community from each Emirate to be appointed by the Governor, as the names of Alhaji Dalhat Al-Hamsad and Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano are appointed by the Governor, as two of them.

“So also the Law stipulates, as members of the State Council of Chiefs, a representative of Security Agencies, the Police, State Security Service and Civil Defence Corps. And not more than two (2) other members to be appointed by the Governor, the names of Alhaji Nasiru Aliko Koki is nominated as member of the State Council of Chiefs, under this category. And then the Secretary of the Council who would be appointed by the Council of Chiefs.

“Section 5(1), (2) of the Law provides that, the Chairmanship of the State Council of Chiefs shall be rotational among the Five (5) Emirs of the Emirates and the sequence of which is to be determined by the Governor and the Chairman shall serve for a period of two (2) years only.

In as much I don't support abuse of office or corruption in any form, I am still at a lost, begging for answers to this pertinent well-thought of sensitive and non-hate speech question, "Are there no corrupt politician of muslim stock in Nigeria?"
Where are former Gov. Abdul-Aziz Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, Gov. Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari of Zamfara state, Gov. Mohammed Danjuma Goje of Gombe state whom corruption cases was shamelessly overlooked by this present administration just for personal political gains of Mr. President, etc all of whom are of Muslim religious divide and alleged to have been involved in humongous corruption allegations.
Is it only former Gov. Jolly Nyame of Taraba State , Gov. Joshua Dariye of Plateau state and now of recent Gov. Orji Uzo Kalubof Abia State all convicted and subsequently jailed by the present administration of Muhammadu Buhari are the only corrupt former public office holders we have in Nigeria?
Why is President Muhammadu Buhari whom is arguably known to be religiously bias and ethnocentric in nature, hell bent on jailing only Christian politicians. The same is not different from the gradual suspension of christian judges from our courts as a result of corruption cases. Is he saying once again, only christian judges are corrupt?
Is this not a one-sided fight against corruption? Can someone tell me which politician or notable public office holder of Muslim stock PMB has incarcerated apart from Col. ,(Rtd.) Dasuki whom we all know he(PMB) has a personal vendetta against because of the role he(Dasuki) played when he was toppled.

Hands down.... If in some sort of dream I got a chance to pick a president for Nigeria, my vote goes to Femi Falana (SAN).


This man has proven to be a sturdy-spirited activist and literally a national hero. With what has been happening in the Sowore and DSS case, you can imagine how bold this man is that he's actually standing up to dictatorship and insisting that the rule of law be upheld. Of course, they may have tried several means to pay him off or shut him up, but Sir is not backing down.

Video Of IPOB Members Attacking Amaechi In Spain

Igbere TV has finally obtained video of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, attacking President Muhammadu Buhari’s Minister, Rotimi Amaechi in Spain.

In the video, the Minister Of Transportation can be seen driving away while the IPOB members were angry that they didn't beat him very well.





Recall that the members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, had earlier said that any politician working against the interest of the Igbos will be disgraced once he stepped out of the country.

According to report, the minister of transportation was attacked on Friday while on a national assignment.

He also took to his Twitter handle to announce that the attackers were, however, repelled by the Spanish police.

He said : “Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain,” he said.

“They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers.”
