How did you start your IT from first year. How did you combine going to class and work?

It was during my semester holidays. Once I did my first holiday interning with them, the slot remained open for me throughout my time in school.

First semester breaks were 6 weeks long, second semesters' 12 weeks.

I was duly paid allowances, the take home from weekly contract test and maintenance job at other coys was way too alluring. I almost didn't want to go back to school



It helped groom me. I was seeing and understanding engineering beyond the classroom.

Project works were piece of cake for me, because I'd the on field knowledge and technical know how.

This is the Nairaland I fell in love with.

I started my IT from my first year mainly because I wanted extra cash. I wanted to buy a sleek phone then lol.

I grew into the job. I learned on the job.

During my iT I realized that most illiterate that are manual labourers on the field even have more technical know how than graduates because of the working experiences they've been exposed to.

Throughout my internship, none of the things I learned in engineering school came in handy. The field is totally different. It's a whole new school.

@Op just be ready to learn, be open to ideas and new tricks. Learn to tolerate people too. People will try to boss you around or sometimes throw funny attitude at you, this and many more are things you need to expect when dealing with people.Work on your 'people skill' while learning your craft, You'll love the experience.

I started loaning money far back in my secondary schools days and Immediately I completed my NYSC about 9years ago,I got a bank job where I worked for 4 solid years.
Interestingly,while in the bank,I met a colleague who taught me about the loan business of a thing that was in 2012. After the tutelage,i invested the sum of 300k out of 360k I had saved during my University and post University days,luckily,for me I have been able to rake in good sums of money in this business.
The major factor to consider in this business is risk, I mean evaluate ur potential risk and be close to the business person u want to lend the money and after which,u might allow referral to do the remaining work. I don't have many clients as I write u,but the few they are,the solid and reliable they are.

To be honest with u,I resigned by Bank work about 4 years ago because I needed time to work on the business,however,I succeeded and after about 7 and half years in this business,I have made made close to 30million naira which about 10million is in landed property which I bought three in Abuja and one in my village. I was also able to secure a job back to govt office,for my brother and wife through this lending business.
It might sound so interesting or possibly unreal but that is my story,I did it and today I don't have to rely on my salary any more.
To shock u a bit,I make N1,000,000 (one million naira every month).
If I can do it,u can do better.
And mind u,u don't have to work in the bank before u can become an expert in it.

I had always been lending 50naira to pay 100naira back in my secondary school days which was the only knowledge I had before I was employed in the bank...go ahead with ur plans and don't be discouraged.

U may not need to partner with this people or lenders,I feel u need to take the hard risk yourself by starting with a manageable sum to test how the business is.
Always remember to diversify when the business starts moving fine.

1. The Constitution says that we have to have a representative of each and every state on the Cabinet. Minsiters of States were created to accomodate every representative. (And yes, it was subject to a court case at the Supreme court..and the Supreme Court said that that is what the Constitution says).

NB: Obasanjo and Buhari would have liked smaller cabinets but then again

2.Minister of Communications supervises things like telecoms, radio frequencies, etc. Minsitry of Information is responsible for government propaganda, and general education (in the past they used to even print health posters for example).
