Hope u r enjoying the change u voted for ?I don't think so. APC still controls 22 states including Lagos (clear majority compared to PDP's 13), and we control the Federal Government that shares the revenue to all other states (including Rivers). Ameachi remains a Federal Minister of Transport while Dakuku Peterside is the new NIMASA Chairman. Furthermore, Ameachi the Lion of Ubima retains his title as the Jonathan slayer that helped rescue Nigeria from the fangs of the PDP by kicking 'em out of Aso Rock. We are still sitting pretty iyar'uwa .[/quote] |

Very funny.. Does it mean that no DPR officials buy fuel. Or are they trying to tell us that in areas where DPR officials are residing, fuel is sold at #87? The person that released these contact numbers is just trying to fool the government that he is on top of his game |

An undergraduate of a college of education in Oyo State, Olajide Ajayi, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for attempting to kill his niece, who is also his school mate, by cutting her throat. The suspect was accused of slitting the throat of Opeyemi Ajala, over payment of N47,000 school fee. The victim was said to have given her Automated Teller Machine card to the suspect to collect N47,000 and help her pay the sum to her school account as school fee. It was alleged that Ajayi used the money to buy clothes for himself and spend the rest on other things. After failing to give a teller to his niece on demand, the suspect began to avoid his niece but when he could no longer bear the pressure on him to produce the money or the teller, he decided to kill her to mask his track. To actualise his plan, he allegedly went to his victim’s house with a knife and tip-toed into her room. After overpowering her, he was said to have slit the throat but unknown to him, Ajala did not die. The suspect said, “I collected the money, but I spent it. When the pressure from her was too much, and there was no way I could get the money to pay her back, I decided to kill her. One night, I went to her house with a sharp knife to kill her. “I got to her house at about 8pm; when I entered the room, I locked the door and pinned her head down on the bed. I did not allow her to shout. Then, I brought out the knife and slit her throat. When blood started gushing out and she was unconscious, I thought she was dead and I escaped.” The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, said the lady survived the attack miraculously, adding that she had been taken to the University College of Hospital, Ibadan, for treatment. The police commissioner stated, “The lady managed to pick her mobile telephone a few minutes after the attack and called one of her neighbours, who informed the police. “The suspect will be charged to court soon.” |

Most times when we walk into big malls, boutiques, supermarkets, we never question their prices. We pay exactly what we see on the price tags and even hand out tips to the staff. But the moment we are out of these shops and want to buy banana, our bargaining game gets off to the roof. Poor widow with 12 hungry children at home tells you banana is N100. She even takes out her time to explain how difficult it was for her to even buy it, how the economy is so tough. But we insist that if it's not N50, we are not paying. Some of us even step back into our cars and make to drive away. But because 'half bread is better than chin chin', this woman is forced to call you back and sell to you at little or no gain. In her heart, she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well. God will definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the luscious banana. Take some seconds out and think about this.. Am always moved to tears when I see people who genuinely and helplessly hawk petty goods to feed and survive for that day, especially women and children. Please don't bargain hard with small vendors like this. They do business not to buy designer bags, Gucci shoes and designer clothes but to LIVE and EAT for that day and the children share the remaining money among themselves to take to school the next day (that's if there's any left). |
Good old days...

OP you are right on point....there was this mango tree within our neighbourhood, our dad warned us not to go near it. trust kids, we know what time he normally close from office (4pm), so we would climb this mango tree looking for any mango fruit that shows sign of being matured (not Ripe). One day, our dad came back home to pick something... he caught us red handed, he went back to the office. He pretended as if he is not going to punish us. When he came back after closing finally from the office, he ask each of us to climb the mango Tree and pluck 5 mango fruits each, we did that. He asked each of us to get a cup of water each, we did that. omo, he ordered us to start eating the mango fruit or face his Koboko. Omo, we think say na small punishment, and we were somehow relived, Kai, by the time we got to 3rd mango crying and begging don start ooo. when we managed and finished the 5th Mango, we were ordered to wash it down with our cup of water, from there we went straight to bed (6pm), No dinner for that day....since then, even after the mango season, we no dey go near the mango tree again. |
