kay9:Thank you for this. It begins to put things into perspective for me. I know those books are dammmmn good & detailed - one of the reasons I want to read all. However, considering the show is at Season finale already, do you think it'll be wise to go back in time & read them with all the spoilers I now know? I'm still contemplating if it'll be enjoyable , without that anti-climax feel , since I already kind of know what will happen. Has anyone here ever watched a Movie/show and went back to read the books and still THEOUGHLY enjoyed it? |
Dear antispam bot, pls let me be.. Banned me five times within an hour.. wtf!!! Who else is experiencing this? Anyways I absolutely loved that Jenny song rendition by Podrick. Had to download it on YouTube. It was beautiful.... and blended perfectly with the mood. The partial darkness in the chamber, the luminance of burning flames scattered across the room, the sudden dead silence, the melancholy on thier faces, the brief moment of self-reflection as his voice echoed in the background. Perfecto!!! As beautiful as the song was, it made something turn inside of my stomach. Bad feeling. Very bad one. It's a song on one hand but the moment you close your ears and start to listen from the soul it begins to sound like a prophecy. That song is beautiful & eerie at the same time. A radioactive mixture of light & darkness. The type that can make your grandmother appear from nowhere like booooom!!! Who is Jenny? Is Jenny a pseudonym? As if the lyrics wasn't deep enough, the camera kept panning to different characters as the song progressed. Each line describing the moment on screen - including this one - "Took away her sorrows & pain" as they showed a half-naked Arya - a reference to how Gendry's D1ck has taken away her sorrows and pain. Then this last line , "She never wanted to leave" , coincided just as Danyerys appeared on screen and started walking to Jon. Well well well... Maybe there's nothing to the song though & I just need to tone down on the weed like some of you have advised. |

Dear Night King, I just hope & pray..... that for all the trouble these characters & we the viewers have gone through, your reason for all thissssssss... all thissssssss... doesn't end up something petty that could have been discussed over a bottle of beer & roasted dragon ribs.. Cos ehn I swear... I swear!!! |

Endy10:Everyone, avoid Endy oo. He has become a Wight.. Though he might try to disguise as the living, his true intentions is to make you one of his kind. ![]() Sorry Endy, you now have blue eyes... |
Endy10:Oh that. Thanks, I'm deeply flattered. But pls don't be in awe. I'm not usually smart, seriously. I tilt towards the other side of the spectrum more often than not. It's just that my bulb happens to flash once in a while like who will I use sef.......let me think, let me think... ok Sansa for example. ![]() |
Endy10:Yea. Don't know why I keep mixing both guys up. This has happened before. No. I don't stay in Lag. But if it's concerning the hard copy of the books, I can have them waybilled. ![]() |
I see why it's easy to hate this episode & label it a total bore, but - to me - this is one of the best episodes. It's so subtle yet powerful. Maybe because it deeply appeals to my melancholic side. No need to rush. I love the gradual transitioning. No need to rush. Is it not blood you want? Don't worry, it is coming. Blood will so spill you'll be forced to use rolls of tissue in wiping off splashes that flew from your favorites & landed on your screen protectors. No worry. These are characters we've been with for years( I prefer to use "almost all our lives" , it sounds more dramatic ). Bretheren, these are characters we've been with for almost all our lives. They are our brothers, our sisters. They're now a part of us whether we choose to admit it or not. Some, or all of them, will die. And we'll miss them.So why should we rush? Don't we want to be with them for one more, last final time? This episode is beautiful & powerful because most times we see the war, the bravery, the bloodshed, the victory, but most times we don't see the personal, emotional and philosophical battles they struggle with in the final moments leading to the war itself. They are so many enriching, powerful scenes in this episode - one of them being the chamber gathering between Tyrion & Jamie, then joined by Brienne, Podrick, ser Devos & Tormund aka.. Giants bane...lol But I'll talk about two. One -my personal favorite actually - when Ser Devos was serving supper and this man, after collecting his share, tells ser Devos that he's not a warrior, panic visible in his eyes. Then this little girl comes up, collects her food and tells Ser Devos she wants to fight. So tiny in contrast to the previous man, yet no fear in those little eyes. Powerful stuff! I was pissed at the man. Like how could this little child be willing to fight & die, but you want to cower & tow a coward's path. You no get shame? But then again, we all are victors or victims of our circumstances. The little girl said her two brothers were soldiers & she wants to fight too. But the man? Maybe he was an average trader before, a care-giver nursing the elderly perhaps, a banker, or just an average Nigerian like you & me far faaar less braver & perhaps much more likely a coward than an eight-year old Afghan whom has tasted War. Like I said, we all are victor or victims of our circumstances. You know, it's so easy to assume that since a war is coming, everybody will automatically be pumped-up, gingered, motivated, prepared & ready to die. Sadly, some will never be ready to die. Even in their death. That's life. These are some of the philosophical psychological battles of war - and many more - people fight in the final moments even before the main war begins. And it's important to show it. Second one is the post-sex scene between Gendrya. Here, Arya is seen staring far far into the neverlands - a place only she can see- while that beautiful poetic rendition by Podrick plays in the background. Here, her eyes look wide open but she looks lost. She was there but wasn't there. This scene is so powerful that the look on her face could be interpreted for one-thousand different meanings and all would be correct. Did Gendry dickmatize her? and she's here thinking, wow!! So na wetin I dey miss be this?. Is the War even worth it? Maybe we could find somewhere cozy below the crptys and I'll hide on this D1ck till the war is over. A girl has no shame.. Maybe here, Arya knows she'll die, and for the first time, death no longer has many faces and she's starting at death..... in the face... Maybe for all the bravery, For all the "A girl has no face" shenanigans, For all the training, For all her cold-heartedness, deep down somewhere she's just like everyone. A normal human being like you and I afraid to die, wishing that this fffucked up world could be a slightly less horrific & a better place. The only part I felt was a bit rushed at first was how Arya transitioned from pinning a triplet of dragon glass to a wood in quick successions to make Gendry facilitate the construction of her secret special weapon, to her pinning the same Gendry to bed few seconds later. I felt it was too fast. I felt they needed a tad bit more bonding and... gasps.... fans who still saw Arya as that semi-innocent dedicated virgin girl were not ready to see her in this new light. But like I said earlier, what makes this whole episode very powerful is that it deals with the philosophical psychological battles people fight even before the main war begins. Before you get disappointed or angry, I want you to understand that both in witchcraft & christianity, and science even, Time is a very important constraint. Time & Space is to the Universe and Mordern science/physics what Native chalk & schnapp is to Amadioha. The concept of Time changes everything. When you know you have a certain amount of time to live, it changes your perspective about every fffuking thing. Everything! Now it doesn't matter if you're made of steel like Arya or copper like Tormund , but suddenly, nothing else matters but everything matters. The little things like having the walls of your v@gin@ greased by this guy you kind of like. Coming from a long- ass frightening journey that almost featured your flesh on the Night's King's Archimedes sprial and the first thing you ask is "If The big woman is still around" . This episode was beautiful, philosophical & very necessary. So many subtle but deep elements. Is it how Grey worm for all his muteness & devoutness to Dany's cause knows deep down that even if they win the war, he & Missandei won't fit in the picture? My highlight of this episode is how it subtly reinforces "The concept of Time" as the most powerful force in the universe. And it's true!!! There was a girl. Our chemistry was out of this world, maybe supernatural sef. We bonded so well, but didn't get to the stage where Arya & Gendry currently are before we later had issues. We don't talk anymore. I don't even know if we are ever going to see again, talk again, or hear each other's voice again till we both die. But something tells me if somehow somehow the world is to be ending in the next 5mins and death is coming for us all, our tongues will be far deep in each other's throats & we'll be ffucking each-other in 3...2.. 1. I'll title this beautiful Episode - "The Concept of Time: the battle before the War".. |
Daeylar:Start with - The 100.. |
Gbola5:Naah. I don't like e-books. I'll get the hardcopy. |

The annoying thing about this leak is that it came from Amazon prime Germany. How can you be showing credits of Season 8 premiere then booooom, you transition to Episode 2? The painful thing is that instead of the viewers to gasp, quickly switch it off & wait for the rest of the world, they sat down and watched like the traitors they are. Like how do you just watch an episode of GOT you never prepared for sef? How does your brain even work sef? Is something wrong with you? Are you possessed? I had to mentally prepare myself for the Season premiere. Took my bath, had a haircut & wore suit & cover shoe before climbing my bed to watch. I remember calling my Indian Guruji , Prakash, to check if my Zodiac alignment & rotation of the moon aligns. I began watching the first episode of season 7 only after he confirmed that lord Shiva gives me the go-ahead. |
Daeylar:Lol. I love the idea of an Apocalypse. So so so bad that I'm a big fan of any apocalyptic & post-apocalyptic themed TV series - the good ones though. |
melodyogonna:Yea. I'll just get a pre-owned complete set from eBay. |
CecyAdrian:Another perspective. Nice. Well said. ![]() |
melodyogonna:I need to read those goddamn books. Once again, reminder: anyone that can recommend where I can get the complete set in HARD COPY within the country should pls recommend. Thanks. |
Arya to John: "I'm defending our family, so is she(Sansa)" Jon: "I'm her family too " .. **( the brief pause, the look on Jon's face before he said this was sad.. like really really sad it touched me) Arya: "Don't forget that" *Earlier on* Dany to Johnny boy: " She doesn't need to be my friend, but I'm her queen, if she can't respect me...... " *dothrakis interrupt before she completes statement** I just hope the producers are not smoking the same weed I'm smoking, ELSE ........ Arya is forced to defend her family(Sansa) from Dany. Johnny boy is forced to defend his NEW family too. Arya somehow kills Dany. Johnny boy - as painful as it was - kills Arya in the process too. Sansa kills Jon in the process too. War is over. All hail the new queen Sansa. *Two days later after the final episode* The whole world turns upside down, chaos everywhere. Riots in the streets. Donald Trump resigns. There's a national manhunt for the producers of game of thrones. They seek asylum in Venezuela. *Two years later, the world is still yet to recover* But there's good news. Scientists at Stanford have catalysed a serum called Life-bringer that wipes certain parts of the memory. Military helicopters deliver life-bringer to every major city in the world. Finally the pain is over. The world is now back to normal. People now smile & laugh like they used to. The sun comes up for the first time in 23 months. Plants begin to show sign of life. David Benioff & D. Weiss start writing the script for another fresh season 8 from their prison cells under the close supervision of the CIA. |
CecyAdrian:Sure she doesn't? because the Arya I saw in season 8 episode 1 will kill Jon - if it comes to that - to defend her family, Sansa. |
oliidell:"But any unbiased gender-tolerant viewer will agree Sansa has undergone tremendous mental development" As a matter of fact, one of my first season 8 posts here was me alluding that even though I still hold reservations, Sansa has undergone some level of growth. As for that gender-tolerant part, it automatically deleted the rest of what I wanted to say. Can't be having a discussion with somebody who thinks like Season 1 Sansa. Have a nice day. |
oliidell:Pls & pls I beg you in the name of the old, new & fairly-used gods, let's stop. Let's just stop. Sansa can never know Cersei more than Tyrion, presently, pastly or futuristically. You guys are beginning to give that girl too much credit and it's annoying. Sansa's base for concluding that Cersie won't play ball is ONLY based on her PAST HISTORY with Cersie. She knows Cersei is a cold hearted bitch and that's all. Tyrion, however, knows Cersei on a more deeper level. Asides that, he knows that even the devil can have something to live for . Are we also forgetting the fact that he had a private meeting with Cersei we are yet to get a glimpse of? Since we all want to analyze, oya na. Sansa's statement to Tyrion was made out of nothing but assumption - which luckily for her dumb @ss, turned out correct. It was a quick, impulsive conclusion. Sansa never made that conclusion from a strategic or logical point of view. It was a sharp sharp conclusion made from nothing but past emotion. Is that how you want to win the war, ehh madam Lady of Winterfell? So because Cersei is a cold-hearted bittch, is that enough reason to just assume and conclude Cersei will rather just sit back and not send her troops to support a war that will keep her alive? Only an illogical person will just assume that a bad and evil person will always remain evil in every situation. This difference in reasoning is why Tyrion is the Queen's hand while Sansa will soon become the Queen's burnt offering, or even better, the Night King's next Archimedes spiral if she doesn't tone-down this so-called new "smartness" she picked on the ground. So Sansa now sees the future? She sat down and was like "nah nah, that evil, cold b1tch Cersie will rather remain in King's Landing and fight the white-walkers herself without needing our help even though we have two dragons?". Once again, clear proof that the show writers are beginning to intervene. If no, then what other reason does Sansa have for believing Cersei will not join them? She should tell us. Afterall, she's the Lady of Winterfell and the fate of the lives of multitudes will boil down in part to her decision making. Sansa should tell us, maybe after that, we'll start giving her the full respect she deserves. Till then, she should swerve and the producers too, should behave. And again, Tyrion is not God. He's bound to make mistakes just like every normal human being. Even almighty Night King that is not human made a costly mistake that could have effectively won him the War when he miscalculated the physics & flight trajectory of his second arrow that could have brought down drogon + Dany in season 7 when she rode to save Johnny boy & co from the white walkers. A simple extrapolation of Newton's second law of motion keeping in mind that the flight of an arrow is parabolic, hence his initial throw-velocity V(¢×) will have to account for air drag (¶ ) & acceleration due to gravity (g) , could have won him the war. But I don't see anybody mocking him for that. In Tyrion's case, however, it was CLEARLY implied that he had a change of heart after that private meeting with Cersie. A meeting we are yet to see. Something tells me an apology from Sansa, ya'll, or the producers is not too far off. Somebody must apologise to Tyrion, period. Let's watch & see. I apologise for the long epistle though. It's a curse I carry. And for God's sake, Arya. What was she thinking when she called Sansa the smartest person she's ever met. And you agree? Lmao.. That girl is two more statements away from entering the dumb list. A girl has no name, agreed!! A girl now has no brain?? Wtf!! As for the producers, I swear in the name of old, new & fairly-used gods, if you fffuck this show up for me I will stop watching Game of thrones immidiately after the last episode... |
Gbola5:"No dragon can have two riders at the same time" . Really? I never knew this or payed much attention. I thought she could ride any. Camry today, Benz tommorow. I really need to read those books. Had the complete pdf, started reading but deleted it two pages later cos I prefer paperback to ebook. Know anywhere in Nigeria I can get the complete set in hard copy? Last I checked ebay it was on the high side. I want that to be my last resort. |
Elder0001:True, I admit. Lol However, the gift of Game-of-Thrones is the product of a dreamer - GRRM. I could bring the next gift, you know. |
Elder0001:Well well well, I'm not even surprised. Is it not the same people that named Gwyneth Paltrow world's most beautiful woman in 2013( People's magazine) . Lol |
Gr8lex:Yea!! Here she is. This is the slut I was talking about. Babe is the complete package. Beautiful + sexy. You get eye abeg. Imagine, just for a brief moment, this babe in Cersei's or Dany's regalia, looking at her dragons and commanding........ "Dracarys" . I'm telling you bro, battlefields would be splattered in blood & cUm , both from mere mortals and the dragons.. |
Isomerizm:Dany's beauty is overrated atimes, I agree. I over agree. However, she's sexy. As in ffucking sexy. To me atleast, because she embodies certain traits my brain interprets as sexual appeal. But like I also said, most of it is majorly subject to the role she currently plays. Sexiness is different from being just beautiful. There are extremely beautiful girls I encounter and everything stops at "ok she just fine", but no sexual attraction whatsoever. I didn't say Dany is very very very beautiful. I said she's very sexy. Sexiness is an aura, an energy. The twitch of the lip, the flicker in the eyes, a level of confidence, self awareness and self assuredness & other subtle mannerisms etc.. That's why you'll hear we guys refer to some girls as Sexy "beasts" because it equals aura & emitted vibes more than it does beauty. To buttress my point and summarize: " I'll totally fffuck Danerys Game-of-Thrones and say NO!! to Emilia Clarke.. |
Jubal55:. . . . . . ..... a moment please % .....

meforkene:I tell you. For fine, Missandei takes it hands down. That girl is effing gorgeous. Margerie comes third for me right after Danny. The there's this super super hot harlot( think she died in the early seasons or something... don't know her name) that comes fourth. However, Danny appeals to my sexual demon more than any of them, including gorgeous Missandei. I find Danny sexier than any female in the entire GOT series. This sexiness and appeal is simply amplified by the character she plays and the mannerisms that come with it, nothing else. If she were to swap roles with Missandei, attempting to compare them, both in beauty and sexiness, will be heresy. But as things stand, I'll gladly deny my House name, throw away my shield & sword, unbuckle my belt, rope( or whatever these Westeros niggas use) and gladly get down with Danerys in the middle of battle . Life is boring afterall. As for Missandei, I'll just squeeze one and continue fighting. It can wait. |
iamJ:I prefer the third theory. |
longlife101:I initially thought the Dragon was pissed because it didn't support the incestuous coitus between Dany & Johnny boy..... but then, this is a Targaryen dragon, it should know better. Na their way of Life. So I played it back again and looked closely, and this might sound crazy, I think the dragon was bonding with Johnny boy. Come to think of it, how do we classify an angry dragon face when no one I mean no one, except for maybe Lord iamJ descendant of House reddit, has ever seen a smiling dragon. |

). Arya is playing for a united front in the Stark family first, and saying that will make Jon cut Sansa some slacks and let her be Lady of Winterfell fully with Arya and Jon on standby to clean up her mess
