That post-battle celebration scene really touched me. Everything was going so well, booze & all that until Tormund came, started yapping, continued yapping before delivering the final blow..

" A mad man or a King" ..

Danerys had to force saliva through her throat to soothe the pain. Damn it, Life has been so so unfair to my poor baby. She doesn't deserve this. She doesn't. You fight all your life for something, get centimeters to grabbing it only for life to slap your hand like "Taah , this belongs to someone else" .

Dany's heart was ripped not just even because Tormund called Jon a king. It is because at that moment, she realized how much of a king Jon indeed was. The crowd he pulls. The natural likeness every one around the table had for him, even a Wilding. They would do anything for him.

That scene was also painful because Dany, for the first time in a very long time, realised she was alone. Kind of. Let me explain.

Did you see the expression on her face when she saw Tyrion & Jamie drinking & laughing? In that instant she realized the pure love the two brothers have for each other after all that has happened and will always have for each other no matter what.

Dany turns to look at Jon, Jon is on a table surrounded by a crowd who have nothing but pure love for him. And loyalty too. In that instant Dany realises these people will do anything for him. They have pure love for him. And she wants that too.

While all this fun was going on, while everybody were busy catching trips, where was Dany? She was alone, quiet, sitting on a table, looking like that new albino student everybody in class pretends doesn't exist.

Even the amorous looks she was giving Jon as if to say "ok everybody seems to be having fun, won't you keep me warm my love"? was abruptly cut short by yapping Tormund who reminded her of the reality on ground. And how unfair can be.

Jon is basically the only thing Dany has asides the Iron throne in this lonely world. From the look of things, she'll be lucky to have any.

I even saw my baby looking like a mad woman in next week's snippet: hair tattered, looking depressed. The last time I saw my baby in an unkempt hair was when she walked into a fire & came out with three dragons.

Even then, even with the ashes, smoke and all that, she didn't look this... this... ** I don't even know the right word to use** .

They've finally succeeded in making my baby mad. I won't even talk about Missendie.

D& D , GRRM enough!! Just kill her for me already. Kill her for me let me bury her. She's had enough.

Drogon weaved all those arrows shot at it. Rhaegal if fit might have been able to weave those damned arrows. My thoughts tho
You are very correct Gman. Rheagal was still suffering from PTDD - Post Traumatic Dragon Disorder -- before he took to his last fatal flight. With enough time to recoup, his fatality could have been avoided.

However, to really understand the main cause of my dear Rhaegal's death, we have to go back to the cool, breezy morning of 1738 when Daniel Bernoulli released what is now known as "The Bernoulli Principle" in his highly acclaimed paper -- Hydrodynamica..

Bernoulli's principle states that as the velocity of air(or fluid) increases over the surface of an object, pressure decreases below. See Gman, anything that wants to remain in air must obey this principle. So how did poor Rheagal disobey Bernoulli.

It's simple.

Bernoulli discovered that the only reason birds can fly is because the shape of their wings allow air move very fast over the top and slow beneath, thus creating a very high pressure below the wing. This is why aircraft wings are specially designed & modified like an advanced bird's: to maintain a very high pressure below the wing.

This high air pressure that is created below the wing of a bird or aircraft acts as a thick blanket of air. So anytime you see an aircraft flying just know there is an invisible layer of high pressure air-blanket it is floating on below the wing that prevents it from falling.

Back to Rhaegal. If you notice, apart from suffering Post Traumatic Dragon Disorder, Rhaegal had large holes in one of his wings. As a matter of fact, the directors wanted us to take note of that. And Immidiately I saw this I knew kasala don burst!! I just kept shaking my head & screaming "Bernoulli.... Bernoulli" . My coursemates thought I was mad.

There's a reason special maintenance checks are carried on aircraft wings before & after every flight because the moment air starts leaking from the top wing, air pressure cannot be maintained below... .... bye bye!!

Asides from the PTDD, Rhaegal was basically a flying basket, and baskets.... cannot fly. The blanket of air pressure that could have kept it floating properly and manoeuvring danger like a boss was leaking badly & that affected Rhaegal's aerodynamics & concentration.

To compensate for the other perforated wing, poor Rhaegal had to put in a double shift throughout the entire flight to King's landing....and that affected his concentration when it mattered most.

The rest is history. Poor Rhaegal!!

All this could have been avoided had Illyrio smuggled some text books alongside the Dragon eggs he gave my poor baby, Danerys, as a wedding gift.

*** Wipes tears...

seriously? Can't people see Tyrion stayed in the crypt because he was told to do so? I mean, he wanted to fight only to be put down by Danny and sansa. Don't bother mentioning when the wight entered the crypt. Dude was clearly too drunk do to anything except flirt with Sansa. grin
It's not even because of the crypt saga. Tyrion has been underwhelming for me this season. Maybe it's because he has spoilt me with his intelligence, tactics & aura for so long that it now annoys me to see him as just another inconsequential character.

There was a time when just one look from Tyrion had me wondering what was going on in that mind of his. Not anymore.

But come oh, why is it that it is only when it comes to matter of life & death people who are stubborn & claim to be smart with a mind of their own quickly obey instructions that will keep them alive? Why?

To understand what really happened here, we all have to go back to the very First Law of Thermodynamics which states that --- Energy can never be created nor destroyed but can only be converted from one form to another.

Turns out even the Lord of light is subject to this Law. To create fire, oga Lord has to convert energy he already has into fire. It is from this same energy bank he has been converting & wasting all these years to ressurect Berric.

When Mellisandre came, the Lord of light still had some considerable energy left to convert into fire. This is why oga Lord decided to show-off by individually lighting up the swords of each Dothraki, when the sensible option would have been to light up the sword of only the first Dothraki and allow Domino effect to set-off a chain reaction that would lightup the rest swords the moment the Dothrakis bring their swords a little bit closer to each other.

This unnecessary show-off & waste of vital energy is why when moments later Mellisandre grabbed a thick log of wood in the trench whose surface area was partially coated in snow dust & started screaming " alexio oh no!! e no gree catch!!! " , the Lord of light knew kasala don burst!!

Snow is basically water. To lit up wood sprinkled with snow in a snowy condition, the lord of light knows he has to generate enough heat Energy to first evaporate water content from the wood & surrounding atmosphere. An energy he was now running low on, but foolishly wasted on things of the flesh like --- the Dothrakis, and russurecting Berric...... 19 ffucking times.

If you notice, all the arrows that struck the woods all quenched because they just weren't packing enough heat to light up a wet wood, in a snowy atmosphere for that matter. Snow is basically water.

The Night King understands the Law of Thermodynamics. Why do you think he covered Jon & Dany in a cloud of snow dust? It wasn't just to reduce visibility, it was also to cool down the intensity of dragon fire. That guy just keeps impressing me. First it was his understanding of the Archimedes spiral, now Thermodynamics. This is why he was immune to dragon fire because that genius knows a mere spittle of dragon fire cannot just melt 1000years of accumulated snow in an instant.. Damn!!!!

Back to dumb Lord of Light.. This Nigga was running so low on energy to convert into fire that's why even when his priestess kept screaming "alexio oh no!! e no gree catch!!!" it took him scrapping the bottom of the barrel to produce light. The Lord of light had to close his eyes, tighten his fist so hard he farted before he could produce light.

And someone also asked why the Lord of light didn't ressurect Berric. You have your answer. The Lord of light was completely finished. No more energy. When Berric begged for the 20th ressurection, the Lord of light simply shook his head and said , "Not today.".

The Lord of light's tragic end was a result of his wastefulness. Something that could have been avoided had he payed attention to his engineering classes. To be a successful god, you have to be intelligent too.

Even almighty Thanos had to bend his head down to read, that's why he was able to use Differential Calculus to explain the concept of change & a finite universe with a finite energy source to his daughter, Gamora, in #Avengers infinity war#..

The Lord of Light should be reincarnated as a small god in the surburbs of Osodi or Ajegunle so he can spend the rest of his life on ewa agoyin & schnapp while he reminisces on the good ol days.

Me: Ser Jorah mormont.
Reason: he has been the outstanding throughout the show. Right from season 1. I think he deserves to be beside Dany on the ironthrone.
Little Lady Mormont:

After that act of bravery in killing the giant and all that, insensitive NK had to ressurect her ghost again. Haba. Allow the small pikin rest na.

The most satisfying for me was Theon's. Damn he was so brave. He took down a battalion and more before death came for him. In the few moments before his death when Bran looked at him and said , "Thank you Theon.. you are a good man " , I felt it as the tears flowed. It was so touching. The affirmation he's been looking for... for a verrrrrrrry long time. He was at peace. No guilt, no baggage.

Just peace!! And that's how you die.

Would be interesting to see which of the Lannister brothers Bronn would kill -- Tyrion or Jamie? Or ...gasp... both?

Would be interesting/heartbreaking to see which of the Targaryens would survive -- Dany or Jonny boy? Or...gasp.. none?

Would be interesting to see which of the dragons would survive, if any. Thought Rhaegal was dead but saw two dragons flying above King's landing in next week's snippet. Except Khalessi ordered for refurbished via eBay, I'm guessing one should be Rhaegal.

As for the Starks, it seems Sansa made it. That Stephen Hawking wannabe they call Bran, that one does not even know who he is. Today he's a bird. Tommorow he's representing winterfell at the handicap Olympics. Next tommorow he's warging into a bed-bug. As for Arya -- oh my poor baby!!

Lastly, and most importantly, how Cersei dies. D. Benioff & D.weiss, please do NOT rush this one. This death should be planned.... a slowwwww & painful one. I want to see her Joy dry-up like ashes in her mouth. I want to tell my children that I was there when Cersei died..

Also, lastly and most importantly, who finally sits on the Iron throne....

...... Ser Davos or Lord Varys?

And some people feel Arya is too wee and not qualified to kill the Nigh king
No. I don't think most people have a problem with Arya killing Ojuju calaba -- not me certainly.

I think the problem is that it was too simplistic & unexpected, for a character we've all been anticipating since Season 1. I mean, the first scene , as in the very first scene of GOT was about the Night King/white walkers. So it's only normal for people to feel disappointed if a long-term emotional investment doesn't pay off at the end.

The disappoinment is normal. Disappoinment also means you admit something is good. Afterall I can never be disappointed by Nollywood.

If even GRRM himself can be disappointed with these people he works with, how much more the viewers? It is said that GRRM is yet to recover from the disappoinment of the producers refusing to reincarnate Catelyn Stark as Lady Stone-heart ---- a cold-hearted woman who never spoke cos her throat was slit in her past life, determined to track down and kill everyone associated with the Red wedding. I haven't read the books yet though but heard she reincarnated there.

As for we viewers, we were expecting an epic finale kind of.

Maybe a catastrophic mixture of Jon, Brienne, Tormund, Berric, Grey-worm, Clegane & Arya all fighting the Night King at once. That would have been glorious!!!

Then just when the Night King thinks he's defeated them all, Arya from nowhere descends on him like a falcon and kills him just how she did it.

Yea something like that.

The hardest pill to swallow for me comes at the end, and that in itself is another hard pill to swallow.

How can the battle of the Night King be relegated to the background for that of Cersei's? A whole Night king?

When I saw a dazzled Johnny boy walking towards the Night King in rage & fury I said to myself, this is it!!! The moment humanity has been waiting for! The moment humanity was created for! Only for the nigga to wangardium leviosa some corpses back to life as a shield!! Goddamnnn you NK!! You can never be half the man Thanos is. Or my great-grandfather who legend has it defeated five wild bush pigs with nothing but a dry, withering stick of sugarcane.

Strategy we might say: filter out distractions (Jon) & focus on what's important (Bran)....... but Night King wey no like fight sef..... is that one a Night King? So you just wear custom-made Louis vuitton jacket, yeezy pants, Zara boots then rub dustin powder for face all for nothing? Tueh!!

Something tells me though, that this NK story is not FULLY over. There's still one more brief but big reveal coming. A shocking-interesting one, hopefully. Except I'm just being mad!!

Also, I think the NK is of Targaryen descent.

I also found it interesting that the blue-flame spitting viseron looked mellow all of a sudden & delayed his wrath when Johnny boy squared up to him face-face. Hmmn!!

Best scenes:

How Mellisandre illuminated the Dothraki's confidence with fire and they charged towards the NK, but his wights quenched both the dothrakis & Lord of light in an instant like " <<pufff... pufff... abeg our oga no dey like smoke".

Ser Jorah defending his Khalessi to the very last. Maybe Love is all about what you can give, not what you can receive. I was expecting a touching dialogue here or something. Even in his death, Khalessi couldn't give that man even if na small kiss or peck, haba!!! For this, you'll never sit on that Iron throne!!

Lady Mormont levelling that giant to the ground. My second best scene hands down. Brave little thing.

Theon!! Theon!! Theon!! My best scene hands down. The moddafuckin bravest. In an episode where even men who had balls shrunk, a man with no balls had the balls. *Continues clapping*

Worst scenes:
The uselessness of Tyrion throughout. Not even one single contribution. So the discussion he had with Bran was entirely useless? Kept saying maybe if he goes out he'll see what everyone is missing but never did. For a short man, Tyrion is beginning to look like the height of deceit. Thank you producers & writers.

The uselessness of Bran. He contributed nothing for someone we all thought had a big role to play. He warged into those birds to do what exactly? In search of food? He warged into three black Ravens -- confirming he's the three eyed raven.... Ok... Ehen.. ehen?

The uselessness of Jon. It's shocking that Jon, who at a time was the pivotal aspect of this show, has become this.. thissssssss *spits** . This was the greatest Battle of humanity, bigger than whatever foolish battle they have with Cersei, yet Jon had no part to play in it. He was just all over the place. When he quipped during the season premiere that riding a dragon has spoilt horses for him, I didn't know he was referring part of his sense that will spoil eventually. Thank you producers & writers.

The uselessness of the Night King. This one is the most useless of them all. This horn-headed, blue-eyed, dustin- powder rubbing ojuju calaba ended up so useless that his uselessness fried something in my brain, because for the first time in my life, I wished for the ressurection of an evil villian just so he could wake up and die again BUT with sense.

For seven seasons, 7 freaking seasons, this ojuju calaba made me believe he was the ish!! So much so that Johnny Walker had to create a special brand of alcohol called "Johnny Walker the white Walker" only for him to die like a native fowl...

I might be prosecuted for this.... BUT the Night King should have killed Arya in the process too. It would have reduced this anti-climax feel & given his useless war a meaning.

Except of course, like the little suspicion I habor, this Night king story isn't over yet.

Blockdock90:

What lots of people do not realise is that after the character Arya lost her virginity, thousands of young girls who have idolized Arya since the beginning of the show will also be eager to lose theirs in similar manner. It's basic human psychology. Humans tend to imitate the actions of people they admire and since the brains of humans can't really differentiate between a character and the actor playing the role this makes it even more likely. Hence why I'm skeptical of the intentions of the writers for including that scene and directing it the way they did.

I find it funny how people say: Just watch the show for entertainment and stop pointing out stupid shit. These people don't have an iota of an idea about how movies and shows shape human behavior, especially that of young people. This isn't even debatable. It's a known fact in the fields of psychology and social science. And there have been few examples in recent times. In the movie The Program, there was a scene where a character was lying down on a yellow line in the middle of the road while cars drove past him at the sides. It served as a test of bravery. Then other characters joined him. After the movie was released there were cases of people dying and getting injured because they were trying to imitate what they saw the characters do in the movie. There is also the example of how the movie Deer Hunter inspired lots of people to play the deadly game of Russian Roulette because characters in the movie played the game.

Saying a movie is to be watched just for the entertainment value is just like saying a book should be read just for entertainment. I mean, that's what you'd expect a child to say, but an adult? Really? So a person should read Animal Farm just for entertainment and ignore the fact that the book was highlighting the flaws of the communist ideology? Similarly, so I should just watch GOT solely for entertainment purposes and ignore its glaring themes?

Give me a break!
Well said.

However, what lots of people also refuse to understand is that we humans are generally stupid. I'm not referring to you please, I'm referring to the entire human race.

We exhibit conscious intelligence and selective dumbness only when the narrative suits us, me inclusive. Any young girl who loses her virginity because Arya lost hers in that scene deserves to undergo complete and thorough mental evaluation because something has clearly fried in her brain, that is if she doesn't already know what she's doing but feigns being under the influence of fandom. A perfect way to lay the blame on someone/something else so typical of today's world.

You made a good point about how movies influence human psychology, ok , but are there not other movies/shows out there with themes that can also Influence human psychology & cancel-out this negative orientation these so-called naive, young girls & others have absorbed from GOT?

Except of course we want to pretend , I won't be surprised , that psychological influence can only be negative.

Again, if you understand the science of psychology you'll also know that though you might successfully drag a horse to the stream, you cannot force it to drink. The decisions we make in life & what we eventually become - good or bad - has always been a part of us. We were just too blind to see it.

You cannot eat your cake and have it. You cannot want a great story yet try to dictate how the mind of the story teller works. You have two options: Stop listening , or tell your own story.

Saying a book cannot be read, a Movie should not/cannot be watched solely for entertainment is hilarious. So tell me, why do you watch GoT, tell me? Inshort, tell me why you watch movies in general. Tell me the expectation(s) you always have in mind before you click play.

Before you do, permit me to guess -- knowledge? If no, then I'm waiting.

Human emotions like - happiness, sadness, shock, fear - all belong to a Spectrum encapsulating a range of emotions. I know people who love to watch only fear-themed movies . Others prefer happiness-themed ones. Others prefer sad ones.

Knowledge, whatever your sole reason for reading books/watching movies is, entertainment etc - all belong to another spectrum.

If you read books/watch movies because you want to experience one of the elements in this spectrum (knowledge or whatever your reason is) then why do you feel you are better than somebody who , just like you, wants to experience another element in that spectrum too, entertainment in this case.

Prove to me why knowledge (or whatever your reason for reading/watching movies ) is better than Entertainment.

Yes, you MUST watch GoT for entertainment and ignore its glaring themes because GoT is a fantasy series created for the sole purpose of Entertainment. That's why a young girl rides a fire-spitting dragon. That's why one lord of light can ressurect somebody not just once, twice, but 15 ffucking times

You cannot control somebody's fantasy created for the sole purpose of entertainment just because it has glaring themes.

Game of thrones has an embarrassing abundance of other glaring themes too, that include bravery & sacrifice & nobility. A crooked young girl will never become noble just because she watches Game of thrones, but that same young girl will decide to lose her virginity all of a sudden just because she watches Game of thrones ?

Funny how we agree movies can grip us in an hypnotic trance, but quickly snap out of that powerful hypnosis immidiately the narrative doesn't suit us.

Game of Throne's success has become it's biggest problem. The world now treats it like a Mordern Bible, picking every word apart, every sentence, every move -- forgetting it's just some poor old Guy's fantasy. Three, if you include D Benioff & D Weiss take-over.

i swear the whole sansa is now smart issue is really annoying... IMO, i don't even think Tyrion made a mistake by trusting cersie.. He knew/knows quite well what cersie is/was will to do to protect her children as we have seen in the series. So he believed her just for one reason alone "she had something to fight for" same thing he said to sansa during their Réunion.. Even the expression on cersie's face when the Wight Jon brought to kingslanding charged at her made me believe her when she said she would send her troops to winterfell. Tho I kinda expected her to have an end game. Just wasn't expecting her to take back her words.
Yea. Was surprised she took back her words completely. I was actually thinking she'll send her troops, while hatching an evil plan low-key.

One of the plot-twists I have been anticipating almost more than anything else is the stroke of genius Cersei is planning.

For somebody who knows the Night King is coming for EVERYONE, for somebody who knows her chances of defeating him without an alliance(that includes two dragons) is slim, Cersei Lannister looks too calm & assured for my liking that I find it creepy.

Yes. Me. This very show, GoT.

I watched Season 1 first, back in 2012; they were about midway through Season 2 then, but I was thoroughly hooked. Imagine my joy when I read that it based off a book series; I went in search of those, A Song of Ice and Fire. I believe GRRM had just released Book4 then. You think you've seen spoilers? Wait till you read the books, a world of details, history, back-story, and crucial characters you don't even know about yet. So rich that you discover more things each time you re-read. I've re-read the entire series 3times; considering doing it again when Season 8 ends.

Only drawback is the show has overtaken the books; the author, GRRM, seems to have incurred the worst case of Writer's Laziness I have ever seen, and fans have given up hope on ever seeing the conclusion of one the greatest works of fiction.
Maybe GRRM has become so attached to the last manuscript that he doesn't wanna let go, at any cost. The books have guzzled up a sizeable chunk of his life, I won't be surprised if he has become emotionally entangled with his work, down to the quantum level.

I thought I read something about him almost wrapping up the Publication & release of the final set.

Your assertion on it being one of the greatest work of fiction, I totally agree , even though I'm yet to read it. And with Game of Throne's popularity & religion-like reverence globally, I find it midly amusing , curious actually, that JK Rowling's Harry Potter franchise remains the highest grossing work of literature ever.

Or maybe GRRM's just needs time to get to that level & surpass it. He ought be a billionaire already.

you will enjoy it.. thousand of things happend in the books before the beginnig of when the show started. example is the battle of Qohor where 3 thousand unsullied killed 12000 dothrakis and many more fanscinating events... there are more things to be read than what the shows have captured. do you know catlyn stak re-incarnated in the books?
Oh boy! GRRM's mind should be preserved. So so complex.

Thanks.

am.interested I the copies too
Hard copy right? If Yes, pls hold on a little. Still checking to see if I can get them somewhere within the country for a reasonable price before I order for Pre-owned copies on eBay.

There's this new growing Nigerian bookstore on IG called rovingheights. There's a 90% chance they'll have the complete set but I'm not ready to support GRRM with all my life savings just yet.

You can explore that option though if price doesn't faze you at all.
