omohayek: Again you resort to brazen lying. When has any Western country banned any social media outright? In fact, can you provide a single example of actual Western legislation (not Trump’s failed attempt at banning TikTok by executive order) to regulate or restrict any social media? I bet you can’t.
Even Trump’s attempt to ban TikTok went nowhere, as the USA has properly functioning courts which put a stay on any action. Buhari’s summary Twitter ban is a flagrant violation of the Nigerian constitution, and has nothing to do with any (mostly imaginary) social media regulation you have in mind. Go find another line of specious apologetics to earn your 30k for the month. Nigerian sovereignty can not be broken by felons on social media, the earlier get that into your brain, the better. We are a country that have our laws which is paramount. The hate speech by KANU wasn't deleted by Twitter but a warning by the president to miscreants was deleted. Are u for real? Little wonder, China banned these platforms. I most times cannot fathom the way some people submit to the western culture. What a shame!! You don't just blame your failure in life in the gvt. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2021/03/25/facebook-google-twitter-house-hearing-live-updates/https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-leads-the-way-in-a-new-age-of-accountability-for-social-mediahttps://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8743/ |

They were actually warned against election interference, free speech, hate groups, fake news and incitement etc. This is to tell you that the western world also knock the social media coys if they infringe or violate the laws of the land. |

themanderon: If they succeed with Twitter next would be Facebook, instagram, YouTube and even nairaland etc. They are trying to take us back to the 80's when the only source of info is the ever depressing Nigerian television authority a symbol of everything wrong with this nation. Do you know how many times the American congress invited Facebook boss over the irregularities of the media platform? |

omohayek: Since when has violating your own country's constitution because you're too thin-skinned to face criticism become the same as "patriotism"? Stop talking rubbish and read the bloody thing, focusing on section 39 in particular, and tell us how it's "patriotic" for Buhari to contravene it!
http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm
Real patriotism is demanding that politicians abide by constitutional laws, not cheering them on like a slave as they disregard them. Oga, Nigeria did the right thing. These western countries are hypocrites. They are currently regulating the social media in their own country and they don't want us to do same. Haba, let's be honest and praise our gvt even for one now!! |

Waterysperm: I was the first person to create this post yesterday as an eye witness but my fellow brothers nearly ate me raw. They called me a Fulani man and all sorts of names. Click on my moniker and you guys will see it. I saw four dead Fulani bodies and not two as reported by this news media. I couldn't take pics because I was driving and also terrified. With my Korokoro eyes, I saw a Soldier crying beside a dead body. And people want me to take pictures when they could easily use me to calm their frayed nerves because all the soldiers there from their appearance were Hausa/Fulanis. Was it the truck that the cattle's got burnt alive? |

Brimstone77: lies...
They are in South East doing show of force!!
The only thing that matters to them is the insecurity in South East..
Any other tribe or region can die as far as they suppress and kill igbos....
In kebbi 41 people were killed yesterday..
In Oyo 20 people were killed same yesterday..
In Niger state 91 people were killed..
In kaduna 31 people were killed..
Yet all the country's military formation are currently in south east where few substandard police stations are been burnt... I know people were killed in kebbi and Oyo and this was by gorilla tactics which is more difficult. You are obviously lying for Niger. Give me the source for Kaduna. |

Money put into consumption is not an achievement. Do u know that over #2 trillion has been spent on Npower? Imagine if these youths are empowered by engaging in crop and Animal production. |
