Car Talk / Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by kuka700: 9:39pm On May 28, 2021
Hello all,

Am a novice and want to buy a 206. I've been told it comes with different types engine. I saw a few cars with normal engine but with a strange looking device (pointed in attached pic) that I don't know. What could this device be and is it safe to buy a car with such device?

Thanks!

Properties / Building On Top Of Soakaway by kuka700: 11:35am On Oct 26, 2016
I have strong to need to build two extra rooms in my house. However, the only space available for me to build the rooms in my house is occupied by a soakaway pit, meaning that the empty space available for building has a soakaway pit under it. My question is: can I construct my two rooms on top of the soakaway and make allowance for a small opening/piping which can be used to evacuate the pit whenever it gets filled?

Please, advise approximately.

with the 30 days temporary tier 4 visa, someone said students can not book a one way ticket to the UK from NGR. pls is this true? the person said booking a one way ticket is risky as one can be prevented from traveling or entering UK. and one cannot book for one year. pls what option do one year MSC students have concerning booking tickets?

please can anybody help with thisany info will be appreciated.

have you activated your ATM card for secure code authentication before attempting to pay? if no, then I think that may be the problem. try activating your ATM card for secure code. Google "your bank ATM secure code" to find out how to do it. hope this helps.

Finally got my CAS today and booked my appointment today without hassle and got my interview date for next tomorrow in abuja. I wonder who posted here that abuja has entered peak period and interview dates are far, nothing like that as I saw free periods from 12th august upwards.

I can confirm pet01's claim. really, there is no long queue as of this moment. I just checked few minutes ago and noticed that days are available for booking as from 14th, that is two days ahead of today. I discovered that I can even select an earlier date now by updating my appointment. I wonder why I had that bitter experience last week.

congratulations on securing an appointment that close. I may have been wrong generalizing my experience. I got my CAS last friday 7th Aug. I paid on that same day and also booked an appointment even though I experienced technical problems. I had to pay for IHS twice. now when I wanted to book on that Friday, the earliest available date was 21st Aug, that is two weeks from my date of payment. at a point during my application on same day, the same Friday 21st was not available. it was only after some hours that Friday became available again and I luckily I picked it. I don't know why those early days were unavailable for me. I actually wanted to book Wednesday or Thursday this week (12th or 13th Aug) but they were not available to me. perhaps they had problems with the website because like I said , I experienced technical problem. at a point I was stuck and couldn't proceed with the online application. so I had to create a new application even after paying IHS for my earlier application; all in a bid to secure an early appointment. could it also be as a result of the day I want to travel? I indicated that I was traveling 18th sept. when did you indicate as when you intend to travel?

finally completed my application and booked an appointment for 21st Aug. although I had to pay twice for IHS. I'll apply for a refund. for those planning to apply soon, I advise that you apply soonest. when I applied, the earliest date available for booking was two weeks ahead. so I advise that you apply in good time.

hello house,
pls I need urgent response. I just got stuck while applying online. just paid for IHS and got my IHS number but can't proceed. when I try to continue with my application am told:

error
sorry we are experiencing technical problems.

my concern is that I was made to understand that I have to complete my payment within three hours else I loose my appointment. i am yet to pay for visa fees because i cant proceed with the application. what should I do pls? already sent ukvi a complaint form but they stated they'll respond in one working day and today is Friday. I fear losing my appointment as am almost running out of time. pls advise.

Kuka fill all they have asked for. They require this whether your spouse is travelling with u or not same with ur folks. These are standard visa questions
okay. however, like I mentioned, my spouse doesn't have a passport. what should I do? or does it mean I have to get a passport for my spouse now?

hello house. when filling the online visa application form, there is a section called family details. do I need to write all the information requested about my spouse and parents even though I am going alone? they also request for my spouse's passport number which is not available cos she doesn't have one. the space also has an asterisk which shows I have to fill it. please advise me on how to fill this section. thank you!

house please kindly share your experience on how early you were able to book an appointment during your online application. what is the average shortest number of days ahead that one can book for an appointment during application? can one apply today for instance and get to book in the next one or two days? someone here said that there can be upto an interval of two weeks between application and the earliest day you can book for appointment. pls house help confirm this and share your experience especially with those applying at Abuja. my program starts 21st September and am yet to apply for the visa. I intend to apply next week or upper week when I get my cas. pls kindly advise. many thanks!

I seriously doubt you can get the next day as your appointment date. One of the reasons i paid 20k was because i could get an appointment date within 2 days. I paid and booked on 29th for 31st. But i heard with the free vac in v.i it could take about 2 weeks.

do you know what is obtainable in Abuja?

does it take that long (10-15 days) before the visa gets ready? my program is starting 21st September but am yet to apply for visa. I intend to apply for visa on 13th august. please advise me better on the time frame for the visa application and processing. if I apply today for instance, can I select the next day as my appointment date? please advise appropriately. thank you!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: NNPC Aptitude Test On December 6, 2014 by kuka700: 6:23pm On Apr 03, 2015
Glory be to God for a peaceful election and praise be to Him for giving us a leader who we are very hopeful would move our country to greater heights.

I will like to ask my fellow nairalander nnpc applicants. as we all know, quite a lot of us are already employed. we all have different motives for applying to nnpc: job security, better working environment, enhanced renumeration etc. this post borders on those of us who are applying to nnpc for better salary and allowance.

Of recent, I have heard several times that with buhari as president, the disparity in salaries and allowances of different government ministries, agencies and parastatals would be removed except for very few organizations whose work have some level of hazard.

what is the possibility of this happening? and has anyone ever heard from reliable source this talk?

it is good for us to know in order to know where we put our hope; whether to look forward to nnpc or remain where we are.

fellows what do you think about this?

11/15 88/100 masters too

for your question, I don't think there's need to apply differently for admission. the online scholarship application serves for the two. once you get scholarship, you automatically get admission for your course. applied for animal science. you?

Travel / Re: Hail Storm In Abeokuta by kuka700: 6:10am On May 04, 2012
two yrs ago in Katsina, we experienced a disastrous hail storm. it started raining normally, then later hail stones came along with the rain and finally it stopped raining and only hail stones were falling for about 5mins or more. some hail stones were as big as pure water ice block. they came in various shapes n sizes; some were perfect round balls with spikes around as if they were artistically carved. it was so heavy dat some people thought it was the end of the world. it damaged vehicles windscreens and injured lots of people who were outside at the time. in fact due to the size and the speed which they fell, the hail stones penetrated peoples' roofs and ceilings and were falling into peoples living and bedrooms. it was really an unprecedented experience for me and a lot of people in kt. i watched out to see it in news in the media due to the huge damage it caused and because it was an uncommon thing but it was not captured; peharps because it happened around 8pm. so its not supprising as the OP posted those pics; the ones that fell in kt were even much bigger!
