seanfer: It will take those guys a lot of work to End Tinubu's Era.... The Grassroots are the main Deal Most of them are the arrow head of the grassroot we are talking about. For example in epe/Alimosho Ambode is a force to be reckoned with likewise some others amongst those guys.Yes it will take time and work i agree but not impossible. Tinubu himself recognizes that and he always says that if they cant win their constituents they have nothing doing in the party . |

seanfer: Was Ambode popular like Agbaje when he defeated him in 2015?... Same way Omisore can not become Osun State Governor is the same way Agbaje cannot win in Lagos... Use Obamikoro as case study... Your assertion are very right but with an exception i.e Tinubu out of Lagos equation then agbaje can win that if pdp are serious . But am still feeling that jagaban end is near in Lagos. All this guys will gang up against him someday and wrestle power away from him. |

safarigirl: the funny thing is that the cast of Genevieve's movie is made up of the same actors who are in the Nollywood movies brother Kunle refuses to watch
Is it Pete Edochie, KOK, Nkem Owoh? All these people are prominent actors in Nollywood, the Nollywood Kunle does not watch. For all his top rated movies filled with actors who are more interested in speaking English than relaying emotions of characters, none have gone international. Genevieve shot a movie using a cast that Kunle would NEVER put together, with a story line that is too 'basic' for Kunle, and she got international recognition.
Genevieve made a movie with the old Nollywood and packaged it so well, Netflix bought the movie. It is not filled with intrigue like October 1st, it is not a mystery or suspense like the CEO.....it is just your good old family comedy with a little drama. Simple in its plot and humble on its cast. There was nothing extra about it.
Kunle should learn from such humility. You cannot achieve a thing when you only seek to copy other people's styles. You cannot be a Nollywood producer and be looking at Hollywood. Hollywood has their own story, stop trying to copy someone else and try to be unique. When Kunle realises that, maybe Netflix will buy something from him I totally concur with your argument and submission 100%. But i still feel there's alot to be done in the area of exposure and self development on the part of our movie practitioners too. |

thinkdip: No ego here, the guy is challenging the system that prides itself in making below par movies, good that Nollywood made him, he can't remain the typical nollywood style, hence, we'll cry he has made no difference so far. As far as I'm concerned I will prefere to watch kunle Afolayan's movie once in a year than watch our Nollywood crap filled with Olosho everyday.
You guys should be humble enough and learn from his style of making movies, maybe from there we would have some good movies around.
Not all this noise and noisemking movies The only sensible comment i have read so far. One bottle of Hennessy for u He knew what he is saying, instead of usual ranting why cant they proved him wrong by producing good films . Why can't people like Genevieve respond to him,she won't cos she too knew the system is messed up. Only glorified olosho and gigolo are prevalent in the industry. Smh |

Babajide Sanwoolu, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Friday said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will not ask him to step down for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the incumbent governor of the state.
Addressing a press conference in Lagos, Sanwoolu said Tinubu is a true democrat who will not impose anyone on Lagosians, adding that it is the reason he canvassed for direct primaries where all party members will have a say in who governs them.
He said that he is the race to give Lagosians proper representation and improve on the things on ground. Details later…

lionness: Fashola fvkd up. Back in 2011 before his second term when that frog eye called Tinubu was stressing, the guy could have easily joined the PDP and killed APC then. If Fash had done that, GEJ will have easily taken Lagos and won a second term. Anyways, I will vote for Ambode if he decamps to Gorilla Party. I think it's time we tell tinubu he can go fk himself!!! Everyone is afraid of loosing their share of relevance at ikoyi so no one has the ball to talk. EgunMogaji: My lifestyle is way too laid back to be involved in politics. Also as a first generation immigrant I was too busy with regular life. I watch my children now though and I am very proud of the fact that I created a comfortable foundation for them so they can take time to pursue some of those things that I didn't have the opportunity to pursue. This is what life is all about as far as I am concerned.
I still won't get into politics when I get back to Nigeria. My ideologies and solutions will not be mainstream and will be tremendously unpopular. I think the younger generation should be given a chance. Nigeria desperately needs a Kennedy, a Bush or an Obama. A younger and educated President can do wonders especially when you couple it with a senior council of elders like Gowon, Soyinka, etc It doesn't need someone like me.
I'll be too busy anyways in my retirement with checking off my bucket list by traveling across Africa by land and other activities such as running a foundation that I am setting up to give back to the rural communities that I grew up in. I will prefer to be an unknown element, a recluse of sorts. I don't desire nor cherish the limelight.
If I can't have the ability to sit down at a joint with friends and drink beer then "What Is Life?"
Thanks. You're are just like me |

PrettyCrystal: A Nigerian couple has been arrested in the US for allegedly allowing their teenage son to starve to death and his brother to become severely emaciated during a religious fast.
Wisconsin prosecutors charged Kehinde Omosebi, 49, and Titilayo Omosebi, 48, with child neglect causing death and child neglect causing great bodily harm. Both charges are felonies and carry a combined maximum sentence of 37 years in prison .
Reedsburg Police Chief Timothy Becker says the father went to the police station Sunday to report the death of his 15-year-old son. When police arrived at the family's home they found the dead teen and an extremely emaciated 11-year-old boy. The mother was also found to be emaciated.
Becker said the father told police he was a minister affiliated with Cornerstone Reformation Ministries and that the family had started a religious fast on July 19. Investigators do not believe the father is a minister and made up the name of the ministry.
Becker says police do not believe the father is a minister..
The younger boy and his mother were brought to the hospital. The mother refused treatment, citing religious reasons, and was taken to the Sauk County Jail.
The 11-year-old is in protective custody at Children’s Hospital in Madison..
