You are ever kind. Got your reply and wanna task you this. Is this car worth
2.8 m that the seller is demanding, going by the mileage and thres no Navigation?
The interior and exterior look good though.

I think the price is rather high.

v2:
To get a 2003 EOD toks below 1.75m on NL is very difficult.
Now a guy says he has a budget of 1.5, someone is even saying he can get at 1.3m.
If such cars are available, with good titles, post then let people buy.
So long the seller is able to make profit,it doesn't matter how small,but frequent sale will help make up sufficient profit rather than have a car for six months without selling it.

They say "never say never". I doubt that there is a good 2004 (or 2003 for that matter) is out there with good title for a price of 1.3 or 1.5m

It cost about 500k to ship and clear the car. Hondas have gone up in prices lately and i doubt that these prices will hold up.

However, i am looking forward to someone posting the details of the car and picture. The poster might be looking for a phantom car.

As sad as it is, everything must come to an end. Having grew up in Ijebu -Ode myself, even though i didn't know the Odutola brothers personally, i alwas admire their contribution. Factories everywhere. There is the legendary crown products (makers of soft drink crowns). It has been sold long time ago. But a good friend of mine still works there today.

After school, in Ijebu Ode Grammer School, it was always a pleasure to stop at Odutola Stores along Abeokuta road and buy some snack or biscuit.

There was also the Odutola Biscuit factory that belongs to the older brother. These guys are true pioneers. I have always believed that manufacturing is better that buying and selling and reading this piece goes further to cement that notion.

How i wish i could have interviewed the man and better have the type of relationship the author had with him? That would have been extra-ordinary.

By the way, what are your plans for Naija waters? i mean from where to where? Just wondering.

Oil tankers are not small investment. there are things that you need to consider before you embark on such venture.

1. Insurance: Because of the products (oil) you will be transporting, most countries will REQUIRE that you have a valid insurance before crossing their water. That way, if there is an accident or oil spill, the insurance will be responsible for clean up.
Also, the customer wants to be reimbursed if there is accident.

2. Age of Vessel: This ties a little with insurance. Most insurance company will not insure a ship that's too old. The storage tank might rupture and they don't want to take a chance.

3. Crew: You will need at least 3 standby crew on rotation to manage the ship. Each crew will consist of captain, mechanic, deck hands etc. Since these guys will not be working round the clock hence you need rotation.

4. Most clients will not allow you to lift their products if all these are in place.

5. Maintenance record: Reputable captain and insurance company will not take chance of vessels with dodgy or shady maintenance records. As a captain of a ship, i don't want to be stuck on high seas because the ship broke down due to non maintenance.
The client too will hate to wait and wait for product if your ship is constantly breaking down.


These are things that you need to put into focus before going into the business.
