yanmata:The best i can do is a 2000 Avalon XL (No leather) for N1.5m. I will let other dealers weigh in. It cost about 450k to ship and clear an Avalon. So the N1.2m will not fly at all. At least as far as i am concerned. Good luck in your search |

yanmata: yanmata:[b]@ Mr. Yanmata, It looks like you are not completely sold on the idea of the Avalon (despite all the advise on this forum) which is fine. You seem to be grappling for that lone voice of dissent that will recommend the Acura over the Avalon. Acura is not a bad vehicle. They are excellent vehicle. But one critical thing that makes the Acura lose ground against the Avalon is the RESALE VALUE that you want. You can easily re-coup 50%-60% of your original investment on a Toyota when reselling (provided its well taken care of), that can't be said for the Acura. The 1995-96 Camry/Avalon still goes for close to N1m and can be sold within days, you can linger on selling an Acura forever before you get any reasonable offer. As good as the Acura is, it has not grown to the status to attract a huge following in Nigeria for it to command an excellent resale value like the Toyota. Its still a niche market. You don't have to explain a Toyota to most people, but you have a lot of explanation to do on the Acura. You can even have an easier time selling a Honda Accord than Acura, even though Acura is the luxury version of Honda.  Regardless of whenever or wherever you buy the car, if reselling matters a great deal, you will need to consider your target audience. Otherwise, the Acura is an excellent car. [/b] |

sunky644:Although i have had a one bad experience on ebay before, i was duped $80. That was about 3yrs ago. The mistake i made then was that i sent money order. I should have paid with paypal. I have been with ebay for about 10yrs and that was my only bad experience. I have bought lots of things from ebay. As for the car, i will like to remind you that buying a car either on ebay or elsewhere demands that you at least have the vehicle inspected before you buy. Any used car bought online without inspection is a game of chance. Make sure the person you are dealing with has some feedback and has been a member for a while. Always pay via PAYPAL. Make sure its actual ebay site!!! i have had a look-alike site sent to me for a juicy offer. Go to the site yourself by typing in the address. As opposed to someone sending you a link. Good luck |

It will cost about roughly N450k-N500k just to ship and clear a Sienna. That will leave about 200k-250k from your budget. which is not even close to anything as far as Sienna is concerned. You cannot even land a 2000 Camry for 700k if you want to. at least a running one. Then factor in the cost of buying, prepping (if need be), and the cost of trasporting to the port, you get an idea of how the cost is running. What is feasible is this: A 1998/99 Sienna will be about N1.3m A 2000/2001 will be about N1.65m/N1.7m Please be aware that this will be the standard CE/LE Cloth interior with acceptable industry standard mileage. IT WILL BE CLEAN AND PRESENTABLE. NO JUNKS! I am fully aware that the quoted prices might be farther from your budget, but what it is, is what it is. Regardless of how/where you get the car, you will need to ship and clear. At least that will be the common denominator with whoever is selling it or getting the car for you.
