No man or woman can rob God, money is the least of his worries... don't be fooled. There's a part in the bible, he said he'll raise stones to worship and praise him if nobody praises him. Same way he'll raise the funds necessary if nobody pays offering or tithes. JESUS PAID HIS TAX from the money retrieved from the belly of a fish at sea, he didn't cajole any of his 12 disciples neither did he collect it from the huge gathering following him. GOD IS NOT MAN, HE'S ABOVE MONEY AND HE CLEARLY DOESN'T NEED IT. |

They stop them from traveling. To Nigeria. These Rwandese girls. Young. Ravishingly beautiful. And innocent looking. Hordes of them staring wide eyed at the airport. As the immigration officers turn them back. At the lounge where I sat after seeing them. One of my fellow travellers. A Rwandese. Middle aged. Male. Himsef headed to Lagos. Said with a grin as I discussed it with him. "... you know yourselves. They are just protecting the girls from being introduced to high class prostitution. Rich Nigerians come here, meet these girls, go back home, call them and tell them to get their female friends who are interested in coming to Nigeria. Then they send them tickets. When they arrive in Nigeria they take them to parties, have sex with them and even get their friends to have sex with them. At the end of their week or less stay they give each one at least USD2,500 and send them back. That is 2.2million Rwandan Francs. For you to understand how much that money is in Rwanda, you have to think in this manner; a cleaner earns around 20,000 Rwandan francs a month if working in a residence and 50,000 Rwandan Francs a month if in a commercial office, a cook earns a little above 50,000 Rwandan Francs a month, a security guard around 50,000 Rwandan francs, an entry level university graduate at a bank or even telecoms like MTN earns between 300,000 to 600,000 Rwandan francs a month depending on their department and there you have these young girls earning 2.2 million Rwandan Francs for a weeks work that is packaged as fun." He stared at me intently as he waited for it to sink in. Then he continued. " Do you think these girls can ever aspire to get a normal job again? No. They get sucked into prostitution, get more of their girlfriends to go to Nigeria and get their cut from these girls. They even arrange for some to service the throngs of Nigerian men who come for weekends here in Kigali. It has become a thriving trade. And our President had said that i as much as we want our economy to grow and Rwandans to get better high paying jobs, there are certain industries we do not want to thrive in our country. The first of which is the sex industry. Yes we know our women are legendary for their sexual prowess but it is a cultural strength not a skill to earn money. We are not a sex destination. We want tourism not sex tourism. We do not want our young women to be lured into sex trafficking instead of going to school, earnng quality education and getting good dignifiable jobs." Then he leaned forward. Serious. Words measured. "Do you know that in Rwanda about 60% of our legislators are women? Over 45% of our cabinet ninisters are women. In all industries we have women in high executive positions. In fact during the war to end genocide, women fought side by side with the men in the Rwandan Patroitic Army led by our President Paul Kagame. How do you think we are going to sit back and allow your country men come here and corrupt our women?" He kept silent as though waiting for an answer and then he continued. "Nigeria does a lot of great things for our country. They send us lecturers and doctors and nurses, who the Nigerian government pays their salaries. We sincerely appreciate it. Look at me, I go to Nigeria to do good business and I am warmly welcome there. My President celebrates and encourages this actions of Pan Africanism and cooperation but there has to be protections put in place to stop the bad eggs in both of our countries from infecting the rest." Then he began whispering as though sharing a secret. " Look in our jails now we have Nigerians here for internet fraud and drug smuggling. It is not that we hate Nigerians but they have to understand that this is a country of laws and a strong judiciary and police. Zero tolerance for any form of corruption. We allow you in relatively stress free. You get your visa at the airport when you arrive. We give you resident permit in tops a week if you show us an empoyment letter or an investment in the country but if you dare break our laws or introduce any bad behaviour you did in your country here, we deal with you no matter who you are or what your country is doing for us. It is as simple as that. Here no one is above the law. You break it, you pay." Then his voice rose back to normal. "So yes those girls will not touch the soil of Nigeria if they cannot prove the legitimacy of what they are going for, show us how they earned the money to fund their trip, who is inviting them to Nigeria, their relationship with the person and if they are in school or under 18 they provide evidence that their parents or sponsor or guardian are aware of their trip." Then he laughed. "We have to be tough on ourselves because we do not want to become like Nigeria where your passport and your citizens are disrespected all over the world, because your country folded its arms while corruption spread to every nook and corner and allowed the actions of the worst of your citizens define, to the whole world, the character of the best of your citizens." About women being labelled a prostitute for breaking boundaries. Someone tried to do that to me Few years ago after I had a baby. I was on a maternity leave. My phone rang one afternoon, it was a top politician actually the Speaker (state with held) . I had done lots of tickets for he and his family for sometime. We exchanged pleasantries and next he said Him: Gloria, can you get me 16 tickets for I and my colleagues(house of rep members) . 5 business class and 11 economy. We are going to the US Me: sure why not. Can I get the state in US, dates of departure and return date. He introduced me to a colleague of his to handle it cos he is a busy man. We went on and on going back and forth on possible date to suit the conference they were going for. We tried Air France, Lufthansa with me sending endless mails to get a good fare. We finally settled for Ethiopian airline. This took us about 2 weeks to finalise. As we were going back and forth all I kept praying was God favour me. I needed this as a maternity gift. He never asked that we see face to face. Never interfered in our arrangements. He already knows my office address so that wasn't a problem. All he wanted was that he trust me to get good deals for them. We concluded and The government house transferred 17million into our corporate account. Everyone in the office went gaga. All I kept hearing was, nnem how did you do it. Babe you are lucky ooo. At least this tickets has bailed us this recession. I was just smiling cos they didn't know the amount of fasting I and my mum did for those tickets. One bad Belle and bitter one just chipped in "Only God knows how many rounds you did to get this deal" To the shock of all I am always calm in such issues. I never really bother myself about what people say or feel about me provided I am in right standing. I simply turned to and whispered " Everyone mustn't be a LovePeddler like you to get a deal, I got it cos of my hard work, dedication, competence, reliability and Intelligence. The last time I checked, you haven't pulled up to 100k profit into this company in a month, so you see, you are a failure". I didn't stop there, I reported to the right authority and she was issued a query and a suspension. The commission from that deal gave me money to buy myself a car at least in my own name. Now you can imagine what a fellow woman feels about me. That statement was born out of jealousy. Simple jealousy. We tend to condemn and ridicule women's hard work out of jealousy. What we can't achieve we destroy every legacy it has. What happens to you being happy for your friend or anyone's progress in rather than be unhappy and throwing harsh statements around. What happens to calming down and getting to know how they came about it, learn from them and use it to do something for yourself. For sometime now, lots of business ideas are roaring in my head. My hubby is even tired of me always on the Internet researching. That is me. It's not wrong to want more for myself. It's not wrong to learn from someone out there doing better. Off to school to know how far with my citations. We shall all get there. Source: Gloria Omaliko-Kalu |

Walk the talk sir |
He was legendary for his strokes. Well timed and perfectly aimed at the right pace to achieve desired results. He made no sounds. But just kept at it. On and on he went. Ignoring the screams of the one who was receiving his powerful strokes. He never stopped. Until the screams stopped. When strength had dissipated. And the moaning that meant a total surrender and remorse followed. Showing that the one who received the strokes was ready to expiate. It was then he will stop his strokes. And say. “Why did I flog you?” And you had to state exactly what you did. Before he asked you. “Have you learnt your lesson?” You were not allowed to nod but answer loudly. “Yes, Daddy.” “Will you do it again?” “No, Daddy.” Then he will open his arms wide and say. “Come and hug your Daddy and thank him for showing you love by flogging you.” And you did as he asked. You walked up to him and hugged him. Then you said while hugging him. “Thank you Daddy for flogging me.” “Say it correctly.” “Thank you Daddy for showing me love by flogging me.” “Good. Tell your Daddy you love him.” “I love you Daddy.” “I love you too. Now go to your room and read your books.” You went to your room and you read. That was the regimen. With this man. Who is now a grandfather. Whose tales as told by my friend sends shivers down your spine. A total disciplinarian. Feared. His anger. Dreaded. Now several years later. When my friend has grown into a man. A man who is now a father. His father came visiting. Three months vacation. And my friend whose son had a predilection for starting or getting into trouble. Brought out the cane to minister a ‘loving’ correction. As his own father had ministered to him. Three strokes and a loud wail emanated from his son. Screaming out. For help from his grandfather. Who promptly came to his rescue. And shouted down his son to stop flogging his grandson. He stopped flogging. And his father told his grandson to go to his room. He went. And his son turned to him and said. Aghast. Puzzled. “But that is how you flogged me to correct me with love when I was a child.” “Yes, I did.” “So why don’t you want me to correct him?” “Because flogging does not achieve anything.” “Oh yes it does. See the man I am now.” “You?” “Yes me, see how well I have turned out.” “You think so?” “Of course I do.” “Hmmmmm. Well, that is exactly why I say it does not achieve anything.” Source: Mr. Jude Idada |
My friend is a brute. His wife knows how best to handle him. Their marriage was dysfunctional. A living hell. Then they separated. She kept custody of their seven year old son. He made everything difficult for her. A stumbling block. Since she needed him to co-sign all things that required parental consent. He will not give her a dime for their son's upkeep. But will demand equal say. And for every yes she said concerning their son He was ready with a no. And vice versa. He was possessed by a contrarian spirit. Frustrated. She decided to emigrate. To another country. Secretly. Lest he throws a spanner in the wheel. It took nearly 17 months for it to go through. When she landed with her son. And settled in. A friend of hers in the country told a friend of hers in Nigeria. Who told a friend of hers. A male. Who told her husband. He was shocked. Enraged. It took him days to get her number. When he did. He called her raging. "How dare you?!" She was calm. "Please don't bring your negative spirit to me this morning." "Me, negative spirit?" "Can you please forget about us." "Forget about my son?" "Move on with your life." "I will make sure that the arrest you for child kidnapping." "Kidnapping?" "Yes. You emigrated to a foreign country without my approval. You took my son out of Nigeria without my signed consent." "How can a dead man sign a letter of consent?" "Who is a dead man?" "You." "Me?" "Yes. Your death certificate, autopsy report, funeral poster and programme and pictures of your grave were submitted with our application." "What?" "You are dead for all legal purposes as far as it concerns me and my son." "You must be mad!" "Thank you." "E be like say sontin dey worry you. See dis useless woman o. You carry my pikin run kon dey call me dead bodi on top. If no go police and embassy report you say you do forgery carry my pikin call me bastard!" "You can do nothing." "Me? Make day break first. You go see sontin." "I have left standing orders. You make any careless moves. You die. On this earth, you will be the first person to have two graves." "You dey threaten me?" "I am making a statement of fact. You are alive because I decided to spare your life. But it will be wise that you know that I can change my mind at anytime if you give me the reason to." "I dey record this call as we dey so. Your own don finish. First tin dis morning Police and Embassy don get am. Dem go hear your own voice..." "Not possible. My phone has an antirecord software. Hang up and check if your phone recorded this conversation. And once you do, write your will. You will not see daybreak. Good night." "Wait, wait. Please wait." "What for?" "I am sorry for how things have turned out between us. I am not asking for us to get back together again. But isn't there a way that I can..." .......... Source: Mr. Jude Idada |

She laughed questionably after I had told her. As though she couldn't believe me. Then she repeated it to me in form of a question. "You are all alone tonight?" "Yes." "A whole Jude?" "Truly I am." "I can never believe that." "Trust me, I am more alone than I have company." "With all your million Facebook friends?" "Believe me, it is never as it looks. Facebook friends are on Facebook, they are not like crashing into my everyday life and hanging out with me." "Eyaah. You must be bored." "Well, I watched the new episode of GOT and then the Arsenal match." "And what are you doing now?" "Nothing. Just flipping through channels on TV." "Are you bored?" "Yeah." "Would you like company?" "Definitely." "I would have come to spend the night at your place, and keep you company, and then go from there to work in the morning, but me I don't trust men." "I am harmless." "That is what you people will say then when we come it will be another matter. Please let me this, let me that, someone won't be able to sleep." "I am a gentleman." "Story." "Honestly." "Where will I even sleep if I come?" "In the bedroom, I will sleep on the couch in the living room." "Ahh no o, I can't displace you from your bed." "It truly is no problem." "It is for me. If I come you will have to sleep in your own bed, and I will sleep on the couch." "Not possible. You take the bed and I take the couch." "Okay, we will both sleep on the bed, you on your side, me on my side. As long as you promise me that you will behave." "I will behave." "Fine. Send me Uber or Taxify" "Send me your address." "Will send it via Whatsapp, but wait first, I sleep naked o, is that a problem for you?" Lagos Source: Mr. Jude Idada |
