CSS( A tutorial video by Maxmillian Schumuller on CSS )
JavaScript ( Download the complete JavaScript by Maxmillian Schumuller )
REACT ( Download the one by Maxmillian Schumuller or the one by Jonas Schemtman )
This is all you need guy!!! I'm telling you out of experience since you're based in the north and don't have a place to stay in Lagos. I'm saying this thing cos yeah you can actually go on a remote learning which is you pay for a training to any of this Bootcamps based in Lagos and learn from home but why do that when you can learn it on your own.
All you need is determination and seriousness. Then another important thing is to join a group of developers on Whatsapp to help out incase you get stuck.
That 200k you won blow. Keep am cos you would need it after your learning so as to move to Lagos for better opportunities. Lol, I wonder why the guy wan carry 200k give person when free resources dey everywhere online |

southniyikaye: I have previous knowledge let's say 40% in graphics design, I can use photoshop well so I still intend to master graphics design that's why am asking for a high specification lappy I also have knowledge in graphics design and I think I know what you mean when you say you need a high specification laptop; Photoshop uses a lot of power, especially for advanced features Since you intend to master graphics design (I highly recommend focusing on one; either graphics or programming), then you should get a PC with at least 8gb ram and core i5 processor. Or since you intend to master graphics design, you should look into UI/UX design, it is also a high paying IT course |

southniyikaye: God bless you. This is the type of comment I want to always see
Pls, do you have any laptop specifications in mind that I can get if am to learn stuffs like this? I know 2-4 gig ram is a no no Actually it's a yes yes web development is mostly text based and usually don't require much machine power. It's if you're doing advanced programming like in android and game development that you will require a more powerful laptop. You can start with what ever you have or afford, you can always upgrade later |

southniyikaye: Someone should pls advice me, what I.T course can I do and master within 6 months? A high paying international recognized I.T course pls. Someone adviced I go for an I.T course. And what state is the best state to learn? Lagos or ibadan? Since I'm seeing high paying and IT course in the same sentence then you should go for programming, specifically web development. But this your 6 months wey you write dey somehow, e go take you like a year just to master frontend development alone As for your second question, the answer is Lagos. Check this thread to know more about web development https://www.nairaland.com/6306692/how-recommend-newbie-goes-learning or you can create a thread and ask this same question, then quote me if you create the thread so I can tag some IT gurus to offer their own advise |

barnaby04: I took time to follow this thread from the beginning and indeed encouraged with the zeal of a lot of people to switch to tech. Believe me, tech is the way out of poverty as an African man or woman and the good thing is that you don't need to have a CS degree or a graduate before you can make it in tech. Don't be scared by not having a CS background because most professionals in the tech industry today are self taught and some did not even pass through the four walls of an higher institution.
I read the story of a young Nigerian that was a gateman in one south Eastern state in 2016 and now working with Facebook in London as a product designer without a university or polytechnic certificate. He self taught himself design from YouTube tutorial videos and by divine prodividence got a job offer that relocated him first to Netherlands and later London where he is now with Facebook.
The tech industry is so broad that there are different career pathways or areas in which you can specialize as a tech person aside web development. You can be a cyber security expert, cloud computing, Artificial intelligence, Data Analyst or Scientist, Mobile App Developer, UX/UI/Product designer, network or database administrator. The list is endless.
What a lot of people don't know is that YouTube is the best university or institution you can come across to learn anything in life. Download various video tutorials from this website that will teach you any tech skill in you want in life. For those that want a structured learning path, I advise them to buy a course on Udemy which will take them through all the rudiments and projects to do. The projects you do in the course of your learning will help you build your profile which will help most especially when you are looking for jobs.
Not having a laptop or desktop computer is not an excuse any longer. You can start learning programming on your android phone through these wonderful apps; W3Schools, Sololearn and Code Academy.
Twitter has a thriving tech community which you can follow through #100DaysOfCode and #CodeNewbie. You will learn a lot from successful programmers on twitter from the tips they share regularly and probably get jobs if you are active with good content there.
I wish everyone considering transiting into tech industry the best of luck. Exactly! That issue about not owning a laptop is my issue right now. Mine was stolen shortly before I got inspired to learn programming this year but I didn't let that hinder me. I make use of acode, trebedit and code editor apps to write and run codes while I learn from w3schools, freecodecamp, sololearn, udemy and youtube. I know it will get to a point where I can't go on without a laptop but for now I'm just making do with what I have pending when I get a new laptop. |

richmanrichard: just these 3? Can d 3 be learnt in 6months? It depends on the amount of time you put into learning . I learnt html and css for 4 months (I started April this year) but it took longer time because I'm currently a student, so i don't have enough time to learn programming. But if you have enough time, html and css will take you about 2 to 3 months. As for javascript....hmmm....just know it will take you at least 6 months |

I am thinking Data, JavaScript or Python ( which one will you recommend for beginners please) It all depends on what you want to do (web development, app development, machine learning, artificial intelligence). Python is good for beginners but it's deeply rooted in machine learning and data science and it's not commonly used in Nigeria Cc qtguru tensazangetsu20 |
