Proudlyngwa: And you want government to open land borders for rice.
Agric budget won't help any farmers.
What we need is a law to be passed on all commercial banks to fill up an approved quota for soft loans to registered farmers with proper documentation, insurance and possible marketing. Even now when I asked yesterday a bag of unprocessed rice is now at 27k dropping from 30k last year... One thing I understand about Nigeria is, nothing goes up and come down again, that principle doesn't apply here, so whether the government open boarders or not the price won't come down |

Proudlyngwa: It won't work.
Rice import is not banned, just banned from coming in via land.
Rice is still smuggled into the country. Nigerians will always look for how to default tax.
It will be counterproductive, as comparative advantage of other rice producing nations will not make us achieve our full potential.
Rice is not our only staple food source, its only advantage is storage. I understand now.... Agric budget should increase to help the farmers. Like me now, I'm planning to go into rice farming by end of the year..... |

MadamVanessa:

It's game over for Tinubu.
Someone Northerners respect so much and worshipped ,you came and say you single handedly made him a president. What an insult, infact to northeners, that's blasphemy. He knows this but maybe he was on drugs yesterday Big mess up... Buhari is like a father to northerners (even Atiku has never spoken ill of buhari, he can only be mentioning APC but not Buhari) The father may mess up, but that doesn't mean, you outsider should insult him |

Proudlyngwa: That is what I keep on saying , e all need to go through a period of sacrifice,
Rice is not the only food. We must achieve self sufficiency for us to move forward and we can't do that by continuously allowing cheaper imports into the market, reducing limited forex. If I was the government, I would employ the cradle to grave approach in essential home goods. Government should open boarders, tax import heavily, this may still work fine for local production, it will discourage import, but at the same time, increases competition.... |

I am surprised too I talk am Ganduje, shetimma will soon leave him Disclosing this in a statement made known to Vanguard, Lawan said: “Sometimes it is very difficult to support a Yoruba person in national politics if you are not one.
“They have a way of making you regret your support because they eventually make you seem like a traitor to your own people. I no go talk again Tinubu just messed himself up yesterday “You may wish to know that all of us Buhari supporters are shocked and pissed off by Bola’s speech on this occasion. It is unlike him.
Helinues I could vividly imagine the discomfort of all the northerners sitting beside him on that podium.
I no go talk pass this one “Just survey all the people that are doing more meaningful practical things to enthroned Bola as president and you will find that almost all are northerners while his kinsmen engage themselves social media activism and Northern bashing.
Tinubu no know wetin e miss, seriously Northerners where his largest support base but now see One guy just burn e tinubu cap now like this |

Proudlyngwa: Where do you want to get the dollar from for it to become 150 The effort to produce a bag of rice is worth more than 10,000. Sardine is a luxury unnecessary food. Indomie turns men to girls.
Nigeria is undertaxed.
Atiku will sell Nigeria for an apartment in Dubai. Good day boss.... Not an idomie person, but buying for someone at high price is a no for me... Sardine too But the rice, they should just open borders and allow Thai rice to come in |

In 2011, he lost to Jonathan.

Buhari could not do the magic before the APC, why do you think he will do the magic without the APC? Once again Buhari has been winning election, since 2007 it's on record PDP rigging machine couldn't allow him become president I'm not taking anything away from tinubu, yes he helped buhari one way or another, so did, amaechi, kwankwaso, saraki, and even dino |

zikter: You perfectly understand it. Just like I told someone on the other thread. Tinubu is a local champion in southwest politics, he is not strong nationally but is so full of himself. As of when Buhari was loosing elections, he was very popular more than any politician in Nigeria. It took State rigging by PDP to defeat him in some of those elections. Look at the stats below for 2011 election, it says a lot about ACN popularity in Nigeria under Tinubu.
Jonathan (PDP) Buhari (CPC) Ribadu (ACN) TOTAL 58.89% 31.98% 5.41% Buhari has been winning election since 2011, but rigging won't allow him become president... Johnathan and with the help of Obama made Buhari become president |
