HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by labella12: 6:19pm On Oct 08, 2013
Congrats to all the new mummies God is so great October is going to be a great month. So many testimonies Inwagobio on the IVF thread just announced the safe delivery of his triplets two girls and a boy.

@napa I am really sorry you have to go through this. It is definitely the herbal drug that caused it. I have seen some people it happened to. Please find a good gynae to manage you properly. Please I want to use this opportunity to tell everyone to be cautious with what we put in our vjjs they can cause cervical and vaginal stenosis which can be very serious cos the s.p.erm will not be able to pass.

May October blessings reach everyone of us. More good news loading......
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by labella12:

I modified my post and attached it from the website FAQs

a:Failure to provide your Social Security Number may result in significant processing delays and/or the denial of your application.
Section 6039E of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 6039E) requires you to provide your Social Security Number (SSN), if you have one, when you apply for a U.S. passport or renewal of a U.S. passport. If you have not been issued a SSN, enter zeros in box #5 of the passport application form you are completing. Contact the Social Security Administration to request a Number. If you are residing abroad, you must also provide the name of the foreign country in which you are residing. The U.S. Department of State must provide your SSN and foreign residence information to the Department of Treasury. If you fail to provide the information, you are subject to a $500 penalty enforced by the IRS. All questions on this matter should be directed to the nearest IRS office.

fabulousmom: On this note, you have given me every reason to doubt everything you have said so far, Vivianobas. I have been believing every of your post so far, but now I have cause to re-think. I had my baby in the United States on the 30th April, 2013, and I couldn't do anything without a social secuirty number for my baby. Apparently, a social security number is the most vital identity of a U.S citizen.
To process the USpassport, the first step is visiting http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html and filling out an online application form (form DS-11). Your online application form cannot be completed if you do not provide your baby's social security number. The only passport you can acquire without the need of a social security number is the Nigerian passport.
To those of us who have gone to the US to give birth, pls, let us endeavour to provide genuine first-hand information to those that need it. It is not fair when we provide misleading info. Be your brother's keeper ooo.
To those of you who want to go to the US to have your baby, pls make sure you affirm every information given to you on this forum before you take to it. That's why you have the all-knowing google. To be fore-warned, is to be fore-armed.
Good luck to you all.
I do understand where you are coming from. The bold lines do discredit her like you said you doubt all she has said and as she is right that you can get it without a SSN even if she didn't explain details.I totally agree with you that doing research is very important before taking any information. Well thats just my two cents. This info below is from the FAQs on the link you provided

Do I need SSN?

@fabulousmom it is very unfair for you to discredit Vivian without doing proper research I had my baby in the US in Massachusetts last year and got her US passport without SSN in fact it didn't come before we returned. I called to make an appointment and was told to put 0000 if her SSN was not ready. I got an appointment and picked up passport next day. Kindly render an apology to her or edit it before she reads it. The info on this thread has been beneficial to many people and this can make people keep info to themselves. One tip I should add is for people to always ask for discounts cos they have discounts for uninsured patients I got 40% discount in my own and that was some great relief.

Hello house, just got this info and thought I should share it here as it might help someone
Deda hospitals in Gwarinpa Abuja is one year and they are doing a promo they delivered their first Quadruplets in March and twins and triplets in April. The promo is for July and August. New clients for 750,000 and old clients for 699,000. Anyone interested is to indicate by registering before 20th of June. They actually put numbers to call in the text message but I don't know if its against the rules of the forum so I didn't put it so my post won't be hidden.

Hello fruitful sisters, so happy to read all the miracles. God is so great. Been reading to try and catch up but e no easy. I am ready to go for number two but Af never show face over 8months after delivery so I am waiting for her lol. Irony of life after I pray make she pack her load run now I am praying for her return. It is well.
@ green fruits the dye used for HSG spills when the tubes are patent and doesn't spill if they are blocked so its not the doctors fault. It sounds like you reacted to the dye. I did mine in December and conceived in January so it's a good move to clear any cobwebs as some people say.
@olivia3d the OPK I used is called clear blue digital it doesn't show lines like the others which can be confusing it shows a smiling baby face instead. You can get it at H medix or health plus pharmacy but they sell it expensive like 9k for seven tests it's a lot cheaper abroad so that's my source.

Happy Mother's Day to all of us God has heard our prayers
HealthRe: Sore On My bosom While bosom Feeding by labella12:
@op sorry oh its the joyful pains of motherhood. As for the sore tips it means your baby is not latching properly. Ensure baby opens his mouth well and takes enough of bosom in while sucking. There is an ointment called lanolin that is used for sore tips and is safe for baby to suck so you don't need to wash off. It worked like magic for me. Other people also say u can put bosom milk on the cracks and it works just as well. Instead of giving formula use a bosom pump to express and feed baby. Don't be tempted to stop feeding as that would cause engorgement and then mastitis which would further worsen the situation. Just ensure he latches properly after it heals and you will be fine search online for videos showing how to help baby latch well.
HealthRe: A First Of Its Kind, 1.5 Tesla MRI Machine At Primus Hospital Abuja by labella12: 5:42am On Jan 18, 2013
@truefacts r u a patient or advertising agent? Pls research before making statement cos another diagnostic centre in abuja have 1.5 Tesla.

They say good things are hard to find so I’d like to share this one with you.
I took a leave from work during the yuletide period and I thought, what better present for myself than a proper medical check-up, and since o get too busy working, this would be a great opportunity to do that, so I traveled to Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital for the break and got recommended to this hospital, (Primus International Super Speciality Hospital). Wow! These people are incredible! Their services and Health packages were just suiting and appropriate for my pocket as well. I paid so little and went through an intense check-up, from one sophisticated machine to another to a point that I thought I would be asked to pay more at the end of it, i only paid N4000 for Consultation and N1000 for registration as compared to N6000 + N3000(Registration) from St. Francis Hospital. Even if I was diagnosed with a disease, the confidence that I got from only the check-up would have speared me through any disease knowing that I was in such capable hands. It is worth a try, Primus Hospital is doing a great job in the city of Abuja. Honestly, there couldn’t be a better present for myself than go through the comprehensive check-up like this. I am so glad i did it and now back to work healthy and confident.

Jibo.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by labella12: 9:08am On Dec 09, 2012
camrygmail: New mom and ftm too. My daughter is a week old. I plan to read all the pages of this thread. In this one week google and baby books have been helpful in filtering all the advice I have been getting from friends who are "veteran" moms .

For example I am breastfeeding and my baby poops after every meal. A friend said it was not normal, so I got scared Nd introduced formula for one day until I was able to see a Dr the next day. My Dr said it was normal , since color and consistency was what Dr expected.

Now,that I am back to BF my mom thinks she is not eating enough she sucks for 10-15 mins and then falls asleep , she wakes up every 3 hours at night . But during the day she sleeps a lot. Is this normal
?, how do I know she is getting enough food and that she is falling asleep because she is full.
Congrats camry great news may God bless u and ur little girl. Pls do always filter info u receive from people so called veteran mums eating and pooping is very normal its called gastrocolic reflex and newborns have them. as for feeding and sleeping its also normal to increase her sucking time u can change her from on breast to another, tickle her feet or change her diaper which would wake her up to eat more. Breast feed every 2 to 3hours or on demand if demand is more. Eat and rehydrate your self very well and she would get enuf for her to grow well. I deally babies loose weight after birth and pick up the weight as they feed well. She is very good giving u 3 hours night sleep mine gave me less than 1 hour at night and slept well during the day. I was given a book in d hosp called heading home with your newborn(from birth to reality) written by two pediatricians do search if u can get it. It is very detailed.
Enjoy breast feeding my dear hope no nipple cracks? You can pump and feed so she doesn't get too used to only nipple as some people complain that their babies refuse to suck bottle when they get used to direct feeding. I just started pumping n bottle feeding for my 2 and half month old daughter as I would soon resume work and she is taking it well
Congrats once again

HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by labella12: 8:28am On Nov 22, 2012
Hello fruitful mums
So much is going on here its hard to catch up I am an old member of this thread whom God has now blessed with a beautiful baby girl I kept planning to come share my testimony here. Well I took the bull by the horn and had surgery to remove a fibroid and conceived 4 months after the surgery on the first try after clearance from my doctor. In that cycle I used clear blue digital ovulation test kits (as the lines in conventional OPK's can be confusing) to detect ovulation and used preseed (just a little pea size) and prayer na so I get my BFP oh.
God will surely bless everyone on this thread we will all hold our babies as more testimonies will continue here

@pink 22 from the ultrasound report the fibroid tho small is in a location that affects implantation since it is submucosal and distorting endometrial lining. ur doctor would probably advice u to take it out but ask about using hysteroscopic myomectomy to remove it. It is a less invasive surgery read more about it so u can discuss with ur dr during your appointment
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by labella12: 10:14am On Jan 06, 2011
ada24 congrats great way to start the year God is alive and he makes everything possible imagine the fibroid growing to 9cm struggling for space but very well failed, lol what location was the fibroid and what were their inital sizes
@sammiejo clomid can increase the size of the fibroid mine went from 2cm to 6cm

@mine mk be courageous and go do a test even if it is neg u move onto the next level have u checked your prolactin level if not please do but then again it may just be positive cos the Lord has done what he promised absolutely none shall be barren in our land. looking forward to good news from u. happy 2011

@mypeace u ar better off buying it from the website nne mak posted cos its alot cheaper than in the pharmacy
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by labella12: 2:44pm On Jan 05, 2011
Hello laura did the doc not give u a written report if not its best u go for a 2nd opinion in a good hosp or radiological centre a 3cm fibroid will affect conception most if it is submucosal unlike if it is subserous which would rarely affect there is also intramural type u can read up more online and look at pics it will help u understand and as for time on your side well guess what he may be right cos its best for a woman to hav her 1st baby before she is 30 but don't mind him there is a lot of time please don't use clomid oh

hi all,
our monday update died a natural death please can we all try to revive it.
@ Arly good to hear that all is well keep resting seems like u are far along wow time really flies.
@ ejadamen how are u sure the baby is kicking as usual now OPK's detect LH Surge/Peak which occurs about 24 to 36 hours before ovulation so it is used as an indication that ovulation is around the corner just like the egg white cervical mucus i prefer the clearblue digital ovulation test kit becos those lines can be a bit confusing you keep wondering if it is lighter than the control line which will be negative it has to be the same colour or darker than the control line to indicate your LH surge
@my peace how are you doing we need to hear from you oh the Lord is your strength
@stages thank God your baby is fine now
@frany1980 please go to a good hosp you can go to LASUTHor LUTH where they will do test to confirm and then give u medication (antibiotics)

DOCTOR 7 this thread is not for you u seem to have a cure for everything mshew

@all as for me still ttcing but have decided to take out this fibroid so i am in the process of picking the method of choice to remove it cos i dont want open surgery will keep u posted
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by labella12: 11:52am On Sep 15, 2010
@ACL i have same prob with clomid mine actually tripled in size but i have been off clomid now waiting and hoping it would reduce in size as for the other drug u mentioned i dont know if u mean metformin it is used for women who have PCO polycystic ovary u can google to get more information as for predict i got tired of looking if the line is dark or faint so i use clearblue digital ovulation test kit u dont have to look for lines with it its really good but its more expensive. Alot of people have used Fertilaid or fertility blend and said they have good outcomes u cant trust word of mouth tho, lol

@Genbuhari bd the whole fertile week is not the key oh it is just at ovulation no bd until a day before or on ovulation day, lol it is well

update CD12 expecting O soon bd all the way

ACL:
Hi all,

am new her but not new to the site.

@my peace, it is well with u , u have been strong all these while, from the days of stocks, to the oby & gyn section and i pray God continues to strenghten u.

@ All,
pls has anyone used clomid and what was the outcome?

I used clomid and a fibroid of 25mm doubled in size to 42mm just withing 2 cycle of clomid which i think is a bad decision to enlarge fibroids just like that.

my gyn seems to believe somuch in d clomid but am no longer comfortable with it. My Question is , who knows any other fertility drug that can be used aside clomid, i heard metrofin but not sure if its available in nigeria.

what are your take on the chinese tea and fertilaid??

lastly , does anyone use PREDICT cos it seems not 2 b showing me any positive mark even while on clomid.

GenBuhari:
We are thankful oh! we cherish our daughters very much, it is just that as we add to our family, it would be nice to have a son alsosmiley

Thanks for your tip , my wife has heard the same thing, but i could not understand how that would actually make a difference.

I also heard that male spermatozoa are more fragile than female ones so being very healthy (creating a less harsh environment for the male spermatozoa) may slightly improve chances of concieving a male child (which does not necessary mean the chance would be greater than that of a female child).
@GenBuhari bd close to ovulation is tot to help reason: the male spermatozoa swim faster so they get to the egg first and if it is ready for fertilization great but unfortunately they run out of steam and die quicker than the females who swim at their own pace and rule the roost when all the male are dead but its all a mystery but there is no harm in bd close to ovulation and then keep fingers crossed

@ada 24 there nothing to be afraid of in doing a c/s its not as bad as people think little bleeding if u are in good hands most patients dont need blood after c/s just relax and commit everything to God he is in control

take care of yourself it is well

@ejadamen congrats this is great news a wonderful way to start the month. about the cerclage u dont have to be afraid i have a friend who had cerclage for her three children make sure u see a very good obstetrician and he/she must confirm there is cervical incompetence. did u have any miscarriage? if yes did you find out what caused it all misC are not caused by cervical incompetence a large % is caused by genetic probs like my peace said u will cross the bridge when u get there just relax u can ask any questions u have about your fears i am a doctor though not an obs and gyn specialist but i can help take care

are u using OPK's? have u used clear blue digital ovulation test kits its a lot easier than having to look at the lines if it is darker or not
you just look out for your smiley to detect ur surge but dont test too close to ur finishing clomid it can cause a false positve u need to wait for 3 days after the last dose

HealthRe: What Is Your Experience Of Cervical Cancer? by labella12: 7:04pm On Jul 06, 2010
i will be responding as a medical professional treating patients with cancer and cervical cancer is still fairly common here especially in elderly women and has become commoner in younger women now especially women living with HIV/AIDS. some informed women living in the cities now present themselves for pap smears but this cannot be said about women living in the villages where they are combating poverty and have not heard about the disease.treatment is available using external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy and chemotherapy
as for vaccines they are not readily available i.e not every one can get them.
i hope this was helpful
