TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Labelle(f): 9:05pm On Jun 27
You have to keep checking. Best early in the morning or late in the night. Sometimes the calendars are empty but most times you can find slots for August 2026.

Moonie:
Please I will appreciate your guidance. I will be more naive and candid. How do you guys book? People just talk like they see dates. I just see blank calendars. Can anyone guide me on how to find suitable dates? Is it because I have a group application? Do I unbundle them? Please help a bro

Hi,

From other people's experiences, it is taking about 7 weeks in recent times for people to get a response from the French Embassy.

However, no one can be sure how things would evolve between now and August when your appointment is scheduled.

Let me offer you 2 solutions:
1. if you have some flexibility with dates, change your travel dates to 2 months after your biometrics appointment. This removes the pressure of expecting a quick decision. You don't need to cancel your biometrics appointment, just make sure all flights, hotels and co booking match the new dates. Then on appointment day, inform TLS of the changes.
2. if your trip is urgent and strictly time-bound and you are not particular about the Netherlands, you can try other Schengen countries

All the best!
Thanks for your response. Is there any chance for new dates to come up for July/June? Right now the earliest date is Aug.

Hi guys please I need your help. Please if you are a silent reader, help respond to this post.
My question: I just applied for Netherlands Visa through France and the earliest date I was able to find is Aug 10. My trip is on September 6th. Do I stand a chance to hear back from them before my travel date? Is there anyone here that got their passport back within 3 weeks in the last 3 months in Lagos? Please let me know if I should just withdraw the application or hope for the best? This will be my second Schengen visa through Netherlands. Thank you.

OBTOREPA:
Are you gay?
Nope. Most cruise ships require double occupancy for each room. The cruise cost assumes 2 people per room. It’s simply to split the cost. You should know this if you are familiar with cruise ships.

Lol, no I do not want to share a room with a guy please. You can actually join us and come with your friends so we go as a group grin. But you would get your own room.

Hello beautiful people of Nairaland. Looking for a female to share a room (to split the cost) with me, early next year on a new cruise ship, departing from a port in the US.

I can provide more details if you are interested. I am female too smiley

If you're a first time Schengen applicant, book actual flights but make sure the flight is fully refundable (call the airline to confirm this before paying for the flight).

there are many services you can use to generate dummy flight booking where you'll only pay a small fee for that and when you visa is out, you book actual flights.

Search on Google for "dummy flight booking"

But take note that some people's visas are denied because they couldn't confirm their 'dummy flight details' hence my advice at the beginning.
These are truly your best options. Also the Wakanow alternative is also smart. But to me, the best is option 1, book a refundable ticket.

Hi guys,

I filled an application form and mistakenly submitted without booking an appointment. When I went to book the appointment, the available days were past my intended travel date in June.

I started another application with August as travel date. I was able to book an appointment for this new application and submitted it.

The issue is that I now have 2 applications submitted to the center with 1 appointment.

Will this be an issue?
This is the problem we are all facing, call TLS tomorrow and ask them about your situation, call before 9am so you won't have to wait for long. But from my experience, no need to fill a new form if you want to change your dates. They change it for you at the center. But you must leave at least 30 days between date of submission and travel date.

For you to know that they read reviews on public platforms. I posted this few weeks ago when I was talking about need to confirm availability of appointments to serve as guide for filling application forms.
In totality, the essence of this , is to assuage concerns of statutory processing time which is about 3 - 4 weeks.

Take it into consideration, anytime you alter your documents or as the case maybe, effect changes at the center in Adeola Odeku, or Abuja, you are also going to change dates on your personal, company , maybe insurance letters too.

So be guided and always plan ahead.

The embassy of France or TLS needs to develop a webpage as that of VFS whereby you book appointment (to get a date) before you fill forms , this in turn gives a guide to plan your submission in accordance with processing times.

Goodluck.
I called TLS first, they stated non-significant changes can be made at the center. It's a common request. I submitted my docs today with no issues at all. I had to change my dates because the only available appointment dates were too close to my travel date. It's a common issue. I didn't have to change the details of my travel insurance as this already reflected the new date.

Cashmadam:
You need one copy of all your documents. Not two copies. For bank statements, you don't need any copy. Just the original. Same thing if you are submitting an introduction letter or payslips from your office or company. Only originals are required.
.

The only 2 copies you need to have is your bio data page. You will need 2 copies. For everything else 1 copy will suffice.

firebreather:
This is not even up to the minimum required 15 days. And for a first timer, I'll advise to have at least 30 days between your submission and travel date.

Better change your travel date if you've not submitted the France visa application form. But if you've submitted it already, I think I read above in this thread that some people called TLS asking if they can change their travel date on the printed form and they got a positive response that they can change. Not so sure, so check well in the thread or call TLS yourself.
Yeah the same thing happened to me. My travel date was so close to the appointment date. The good news is that you can make changes of your date, hotel and flight at the visa center. They may charge 12k for it.

Can I use e-copy of bank statements? Do they need to be signed and stamped? Gtbank is fine because its already signed and stamped, but some other banks do not have these. Does this mean I have to visit the branch? Do I also need reference letter from the bank too?

Please help confirm.

I have same issue too... I don't know if it possible to submit a new different visa form that's different from the one used to book appointment

I just checked below.. If you've not confirmed the date of booking they can cancel the form (tls booking form)
Hello Austin, I just called TLS and they stated that we can only make the following changes at the visa center when you come for your appointment-

1) Change dates
2) Change accommodation

No need to fill out a new form. Just come with your documents.

I would like to change my travel date from May to August. Is it possible to fill a new form and attach it with my application? This new one will have hotel accommodation and flight for August. My appointment is next week. Please advice.

Hello please someone should help answer this question.

I'll be submitting my documents next week for Netherlands tourist visa through France, but the hotel and flight reservations I made have to be cancelled by the 23rd of May unless I would be charged. Can I go ahead and cancel on the 23rd of May even before the visa is issued? Has anyone been in this situation?

Kindly advice.

Private message via email.

Unilag will humble you. I remember trying to get my transcript too. I sent emails to all the emails you sent to and even more, repeatedly. I was definitely far more desperate than you, because I was trying to beat a deadline. There was no response.

At a point, I even thought maybe I’ve forgotten my matric no. Which is impossible. Only Unilagrecords replied a month later thereabout, after I had already sorted myself out, asking me to go and complain to CITS, saying that they don’t have digital records of all their old students online, only the recent ones. WHY NOT WRITE THAT ON YOUR PORTAL, SO PEOPLE CAN BE WELL INFORMED!!!huh?

Do they know where I reside? Or how busy life gets? Or what people are going through individually? What’s the point of a digital transcript platform that doesn’t work? If you try to get your transcript from that online portal, I can only imagine the Shege one will have to go through and it may still end up being futile in the end with nobody to help you follow up, because some countries will require evaluation on top and with a million transcripts to process, yours might get lost inside soakaway.

In this country, if you don’t know anyone, you may just end up remaining where you are till you die, going round and round but not particularly going anywhere. Well…except God really wants to prove himself in your life. Such a shame. I’ve sent you the number of someone that works there so that he can help you out.
Hello, please can you share Mr Kunle's contact, I need to get my transcript also. Its urgent! Unilag has really shown me shege sad

PhonesRe: Mtn Zlt M30s 4g Lte Mifi Review by Labelle(f): 5:48pm On Dec 03, 2023
This MTN Mifi is one of the worst purchase decisions I have made this year. It is completely useless and I truly regret buying it. Go on twitter and type "MTN Mifi Charging" and you will see loads of people complaining about the same thing.

The bloody device will not charge when plugged. Instead it discharges when plugged. It takes forever to charge when switched off and plugged.

Anyone using this for work or school will be sorely disappointed. You can imagine while conducting interviews on Zoom the thing just cuts off. Jeez. It's not even my main internet, I use proper broadband and just use the MTN Mifi as a backup.

Such a waste!

Good day great investors of Nairaland.

I am a new investor, looking to invest in stocks. My motivation for focusing on stocks is the huge gains I have received from investing in MTN last year. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I signed into the portal this morning. So with this experience, I want to diversify my portfolio.

I am considering just sticking to the top 7 companies by market cap. I do not intend to sell my shares until 4-5 years time (minimum). Is this a wise move? I am looking for a stock that is consistent in growth and stability (and has historically performed really well).

What sure banker stock do you recommend?
