Webmasters / Breaking News: Seun Osewa Does Not Exist by Labelle(f): 9:38pm On Dec 30, 2018
I just can’t hold it in anymore guys, so here is how it goes.

The name Seun Osewa was created by a group of researchers in the US as a front for establishing Nairaland. You see Nairaland was setup to push political and social agendas to the highest bidder using the Nigerian youth. These guys understood the influence these implants could have in driving certain political/social biases through the internet. Seun Osewa is just a bot. You would never see Seun in any tech events ever, ever, ever, not because he is a wise introvert who appreciates the value of being mysterious, but because he is simply a bot posing as Naija’s Mark Zuckerberg in beta stage.

Don’t be fooled by the way he tries to sound Nigerian, it’s a learned art and I was there from the start when it all began. I dare anyone to refute this. If you have a profile created after 2006, you cannot comment on this.

Damn...Guys....SMH. The single thing that God has asked us to do for him is take care of the weak, widows, poor and our neighbors. Countries that strive to do this continuously receive blessings and favors from God, regardless of their religious beliefs. This is a universal law, and I am just surprised we Nigerians are yet to realize this.

Yet, we claim to be Christians, this is not normal, I am scared. How does a population get so hard-hearted, selfish with no ounce of empathy.

In case you cannot connect the dots, this is exactly why the government feels they can't be accountable to anyone, they do not feel for the masses, the same way the masses have no compassion for those around them.

Pastor Kun:

And the fact that bidam deliberately left out verse 26 where God instructed in clear terms that the tither eats his tithe with his family whilst attempting to quote the scripture out of context is another evidence that bidam is a fraud. He knows the truth but his love for filthy lucre keeps him twisting scriptures for selfish gain.

Woahhhhh!!! I have been reading this thread for a while now and must admit that I have learnt so much about tithing from Nairaland.

I hardly make posts on this site, just breeze in to read topics of interest and breeze out although I have been a member since inception.

But today, I must admit that I am in utter shock....Anyone reading this today please take note.

All the while I have always wondered if people like Bidman where genuinely unsure/confused/unclear about the scriptures' postulations on tithing. but when i read the bible post he pasted above, conveniently omitting verse 26 of Deuteronomy 14, which was basically the core of the subject, I froze!!!

This basically means that Mr. Bidman very well knows this truth but is trying to out-smart Nigerians perhaps for monetary gains.

Woah. This further means that these people that come on here propagating tainted doctrines do not give a flipping coin about God, the Bible or consequence!!!. They are as hard hearted as daylight armed robbers.

Anyone who continues to join words with people like Bidman does so at his own peril.

yodiyokun: I just saw this case now. How do I contribute my 2 cents in cash? ETA: Seen Paypal account.
My 2 cents in kind:

We need to keep this lady in our prayers so that there are no complications from the surgery. This stuff is not moi- moi. I just had a goiter removed myself a few weeks ago and my voice and breathing were affected and I am still not recovered. I had this goiter for 15 years, if I had known then what I know now - I would have removed it immediately I got to oyinboland. I was fortunate that the complications were only voice related and that at least I can still breath without a tube. Mind you, my goiter was not as half as big as this woman's. Things to watch out for:

1. Calcium complications from a thyroid surgery can lead to the organs seizing including the heart even days after the surgery has been completed.

2. The lump must be sent for pathology testing to check whether its a benign lump or it is cancerous. If its is cancerous, she needs to under go further treatment. Fingers crossed it is benign.

3.. She will be placed on supplements to do what the Thyroid does in the body, without supplements to replace thyroid function, lethargy , depression and eventually death could occur.

Please someone that is on ground should discuss the risks of the surgery with her surgical team so that she is monitored like a hawk. Please make sure that the surgeon has done this procedure before many times. This goitre cannot be less than 20cm across so its a major surgery.
Also if she can be referred to an endocrinologist to help her stabilize the hormones for the first few months.

I don't mean to sound gloomy but I have found that people tend to trivalize goiters that its not a major issue...it can be.

Now I have said all these to indicate that we may need to contribute more than the initial surgery cost so the organizers of this rescue effort can bear this in mind.

I really wish her the best and I'll send my kobo kobo as soon as I know where to send it.

Sadly another woman lost her life yesterday.

2 other hausa guys also got hit and died a few months ago.

FYI there are at least 2 lives lost on the axis each day, mostly men.

Many thanks Cynthia for this post.

This is my second time reading it, each time i witness those lifeless bodies, i run back home and hit google to see if there are plans to build more bridges on the axis.

Being Christian doesn't automatically make you literate

Like many around these shores, you may be able to read all the text in the bible but as a result of illiteracy, cannot assimilate any meanings

I always recommend reading the simplest version -Good News, clear and unambiguous

Here is what the word says- (I still believe some require translation in their local dialects)

SIRACH 38 1-9

Give doctors the honor they deserve, for the Lord gave them their work to do.[a] 2 Their skill came from the Most High, and kings reward them for it. 3 Their knowledge gives them a position of importance, and powerful people hold them in high regard.

4 The Lord created medicines from the earth, and a sensible person will not hesitate to use them. 5 Didn't a tree once make bitter water fit to drink, so that the Lord's power might be known? 6 He gave medical knowledge to human beings, so that we would praise him for the miracles he performs. 7-8 The druggist mixes these medicines, and the doctor will use them to cure diseases and ease pain. There is no end to the activities of the Lord, who gives health to the people of the world.

obasijoy: Myson eats Golden morn and I will continue to give him that. My mind tells me that Nestle people are looking for way to promote high demand of Cerelac. Since the price of cerelac increase to almost #2000. A lot of parent are now going for golden morn since it's affordable. How many parent will say that golden morn is not good on his kids health. My son takes it every day and its very good on him. Nestle you guys should reduce the price of cerelac. The big tin is almost #2000 and it doesn't even last up to a week. I'm sure many of us were fed with golden morn and we are still bouncing till now. REDUCE THE PRICE OF CERELAC, YOU WILL SEE WE PARENTS RUSHING BACK TO IT.

@Obasijoy,

You are 100% correct on this, I have been scrolling through comments to see if some some folks would figure this out.

HAHHAA, kudos, You are very well on point.

Sales drop in Cerelac and Nutried may have sparked the sudden 'precautionary insert'. They have basically become premium/luxury infant lines as the prices are not pocket friendly.

At my age i still eat all 3 (Cerelac, Nutriend and GoldenMorn) and I can tell you that Nutriend and Goldenmorn are basically the SAME, flake for flake!

Cerelac on the other hand is loaded with milk and sugar, hence more tasty and lovely for my tummy. smiley

OMG!, I can't believe I have just read all 5 pages!!!

Unfortunately y”all, Olas2u, Bzugee and Blackstar are 1000% wholly, completely, totalyistically on point,

Sentiments and emotions aside, take a cue and sleep on it!

Its freaky, I had this same conversation with my peeps yesterday, see, its not just in the techi areas, its in all areas.

Best lines and truest talk:

’naija man has a classist mindset which he feels precludes him from getting dirty. this is obviously a negative for the field of engineering’’
‘’the wrong people go into engineering and for the wrong reasons. if you are not technical minded, you have no reason going into engineering. people wrongly go into it because they feel it is prestigious''
’see thats that lazy nigerian mentality of waiting for a non-existent govt to solve all our problems. any engineer with true knowledge will build a prototype of what he is doing in his garage and then go and look for investors. thats how it is done. am tired of excuses mayne. if youhave the know-how best believe you would look for investors to back you up’’

Lol @ this
‘’I have onced followed a turkish national to fix furnitures he produced by himself in Nigeria, but the funniest thing was that the big man was so impressed that white people came to fix his furnitures. If an elite can think this way, what about the ordinary Nigerians.’’

This totally happens in my factory all the time, they even take pictures and plaster them all over office memorabilia.

Romance / Re: Is It Possible For A Man To Stay Faithful To One Woman Forever? by Labelle(f): 12:42pm On May 08, 2011
O
so_silly:

Yes, it is possible, and I'm a living proof (so far! grin).

It is the easiest thing for me in a relationship. My last relationship, happened to be the longest, lasted 4.5yrs and we were both faithful and committed to it. We were frank about our preferences from the bedroom to daily activities and we sought a middle ground for everything. Before I get involved with someone, there has to be connection on different levels and not just physical.

I believe it depends on a lot of things and not just the relationship you are in. Your family background, place of work, friends you hang out with etc.

For me, I come from a peaceful and loving home where my Dad referes to my mum as "my wife" not "your mother/mum". He treats her with respect, love and kindness and she does the same, so i grew up with the notion to treat women with respect and avoid those that wont treat me with the same respect.

Like some posts said, a lot of we faithful guys are "plain and boring" and I cannot deny that grin. I rarely go to parties/clubs, I have a close circle of friends, don't drink, smoke or do drugs so my judgment is never impaired by such and  my main vices are travelling and eating out. So, avenues of temptation are greatly reduced. Most of my friends are female, so I don't get carried away with female attention - on the downside I tend to fail to notice when a girl is flirting with me, I just think she's being nice and friendly embarassed. I also would like to reduce the chances of STDs, unwanted pregnancies and so on, I don't like drama.

And many more things add up to make being faithful in a relationship as easy as breathing, for me! kiss

Oh yeah, and the grace of God for good measure wink.

O.M.G, you sound 100% like my soon to be ex! What.The.What? I had to look through your profile like a million times, just to be sure it wasn't him (well he's a year younger , so, ). But you know what, the ONLY person that has said the truth in this thread is maclatunji and you! I cant recall the last time I posted on this site, but when I read this, I totally flipped, I say this to my friends EVERYDAY! I said it on Monday, on Tuesday, Wednesday, everytime the relationship talk springs up, I am quick to chip this little secret in! Its pretty simple people, look around you, in the office , in the classrooms, down the street, there's always that cool headed, shyish quiet guy, who most would be quick to tag ''mumu, ''slow'' or even ''Blaah'', most times they could be smarties and always have the brightest of prospects, but many girls are blind to these attributes and straight up go for the D''bang types so that they can put up their pix on Facebook and have all their friends quiver in envy and whatnot.

Hi Kuwena,

Please can I have your autograph??

I started reading this thread last July, and followed through until the end, January this year.

Turned my phone into an e-book reader thanks to the bookmark feature.

I got so attached to the thread and eventually found out I knew your lost love (miss doc).

Think I sent you a mail once, but not sure you ever received it.

It all panned out like a powerful retro story, I felt like I was in the scene, I was part of your story.

It was intense. I could feel every ounce of your despair, 2007, when you found out you had been ditched.

I recall the comment about you wearing a pair of jeans to the Assessment center.

But I also learnt from your will and drive to forge ahead in the instance of failure and disappointment.

You are indeed an inspiration to my future aspirations.

Regards,

Labelle.

Your kid most likely has ADHD. Amazing no one has mentioned this. Must say, be wary of family and friends that are quick to atune his behavour to 'demons/evil spirits', they could cause harm to your child.

ADHD is quite common amongst growing boys about that age, my neighbour's kid is one hell of an example! It ain't a disease but a condition. You need to see a specialist.

Politics / Newfound Asteroid Will Fly Close By Earth Thursday by Labelle(f): 4:47pm On Apr 08, 2010
A newly discovered asteroid will zip close by Earth Thursday, but poses no threat of crashing into our planet even though it is passing within the orbit of the moon.

The asteroid, called 2010 GA6, is a relatively small space rock about 71 feet (22 meters) wide and was discovered by astronomers with the Catalina Sky Survey in Tucson, Az. The space rock will fly within the orbit of the moon when it passes Earth Thursday at 7:06 p.m. EDT (2306 GMT), but NASA astronomers said not to worry, the planet is safe.

"Fly bys of near-Earth objects within the moon's orbit occur every few weeks," said Don Yeomans of NASA's Near-Earth Object Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., in a statement.

At the time of its closest pass, asteroid 2010 GA6 will be about 223,000 miles (359,000 km) from the Earth. That's about nine-tenths the distance between Earth and the moon [more asteroid photos].

The space rock is not the first asteroid to swing close by Earth this year.

In January, the small asteroid 2010 AL30 passed within 80,000 miles (130,000 km) when it zipped by. Other space rocks have flown past Earth at more comfortable distances greater than several hundred thousand miles.

NASA routinely tracks asteroids and comets that may fly near the Earth with a network of telescopes on the ground and in space. The agency's Near-Earth Object Observations program, more commonly known as Spaceguard, is responsible for finding potentially dangerous asteroids and studying their orbits to determine if they pose a risk of hitting the Earth.

NASA's latest space telescope, the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) launched in December, has been given the task of hunting new asteroids that were previously undetectable because they shine only in the infrared range of the light spectrum.

So far, the WISE telescope has been discovering dozens of previously unknown asteroids every day. Some of those space rocks have been tagged for closer analysis since they may be potentially hazardous to Earth, WISE mission scientists have said.
