FreeStuffsNG: You're part of the community. Just request for a meeting and humbly appeal to their conscience for consideration. It's rosy for you and your business today so you want them on your side now and when another cycle of business sets in due to cyclical nature of business. Nothing beats having a good relationship with the community because you are part of the community too Many thanks although I initially did not want to do it from your perspective and the perspective of the below person I go try pally with them without allowing them open office on my head sha |

ITIQ: If you are stingy, you will likely exaggerate what these people might be asking from you. Feeling like you don't have to share your profit with them already sending a signal about your outlook to money issues, which indicates that you are entitled. You can't envelope a reasonable amount and people will choose to return your own contribution to you, in a cash pool community project.
You don't wait till these people ask you before you give back to them. If you have been doing that, they will always protect and feel considerate anytime there is an issue of concern. There's no community in their right senses that would want to send a service provider away from their community over what's not.
Except the value the business is drawing is at the expense of the community. Then there would be a clash of interest. From your input, what you need is to move your business closer to the community that has been the highest patrons of your business. Otherwise, if its a developing community, the growth and your contribution will never be forgotten, buy goodwill when its cheaper.
Invest in their school system, sponsor inter-house sport and cheaper things you can do but that will put your business in the limelight. I get the gist of what you are trying to say, just like the first commentor that I should pally with them, I opened the topic because I needed the advice because 1 thing I do not want is for people to open office on my head…that will be growing every second, now that they are seeing millions they are demanding for hundreds of thousands for their council and me to do borehole/classroom, if the business expands more now na millions I go Dey settle, like say I open the business to Dey do charity (mind you I pay my tax and all LGA fees) thought to clarify some of your assumptions; (1) the project I came here to do and the business I am talking about are 2 different things. The project is work I was employed via contract the business is my personal hustle which was funded by my personal investment and not community cash pool (I am not from here) (2) how can I be entitled over something I built by myself with my sweat and investment, in this same community when I started the business like 5 of their indigenes attempted woefully to copy the business and as theirs no work began to slander me that I’m a ritualist or yahoo boy as I’m a relatively young guy and my own was prospering because customers were coming from different states and they were seeing it growing (3) 80% of my patronage is out of state sef not only outside of the community, like I hinted in my write up |
Business › Community Keeps Meeting Me For Money by lacedup(op): 11:04pm On May 24, 2024 |
I’ll keep it short.
I started a business in a community I got posted to for a long term project. The business has boomed exponentially and ever since this year started the community folks have been sending letters demanding a token.
I am at my wits end cz na my money and idea and use do the business why should I need to share token to anyone no matter how much I am making. I rely on the community for nothing even down to security. Most of my customers come from other places.
Please I need advice from more experienced business people abeg. |

jnrbayano: Behind the pew I sat this morning during morning mass, some noise filtered into my ears. Taking a look backwards, I saw a young nursing mother with a big "well-ovallized" bosom breastfeeding her baby.
I must admit, I lost concentration on the mass proceedings for a few minutes.
After a while, I turned back again and told her that it isn't proper for her to breastfeed her baby inside the church.
Her response was, "my baby is hungry, why won't I feed him?"
And my rejoinder was, "you ought to have done that outside the church building"
Whether she took the correction in good faith or not I wouldn't know because I never looked back again.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Sinful For A Christian To Be Using Chains And Earrings? by lacedup(m): 1:12pm On Feb 01, 2015 |
Vikkie14: Yeah. This is what is called "IMPORTED GOSPEL".
Only SLAVES(both in Bible days and during Slave trade) had their ears bore as a mark of OWNERSHIP. So, why the earring in the first place? What do you want to GAIN? Are you saying God is a BAD creator? If God want you to have a bored ear, he would had done that before your birth. Or are you the one that informed Him to inscribed the the lines on your palm?? So, WHY THESE? Wearing earrings as a christian is like offering Strange Fire on the Altar. It's deadly, it can kill.
Forget about denomination. A REAL CHRIST ian with "christ" inserted and not a X tian with an "X" would know Christianity is not about "bench and plastic chair warming", "going to church". The Apostles were first called CHRISTIAN in Antioch, why? Because people cant decipher between Christ their leader and the Disciples. So also, you can't profess to be a "christian" with traces of worldliness in you-- Be it earring, bumshot, legging, sphag(abi na Indomie), studd(as a male), mini/micro skirts, ISN'T THAT WHY THERE ARE MORE PROSTITUTES IN CHURCH THAN HOTELS?. We know a tree by the FRUITS it produces.
Must we borrow/import the "things" of the World into the church and then says it's "civilization" and "swagger ism"??. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MUSLIM WORE TROUSER or MINI/MICRO SKIRT(as a lady) TO MOSQUE BEFORE??. we need to reshuffle our Life. Some even argued that "My God is a God of Grace, he is merciful" but they failed to remembered that HE IS ALSO A CONSUMING FIRE. The God of GRACE(God's Riches At Christ Expense) could turn to God of GRACE(God's Resources Against Cruel Enemies) if you aint careful. The God that called us to be HOLY and PERFECT has already provided the ways for its achievement.
WORLDLINESS IS LIKE OFFERING STRANGE FIRE, IT CAN KILL!!!
This is what is "Imported Gospel" does. Sharap...wah were d children of Israel adorned with when they came out of Egypt....was it not the Gold and silver of d Egyptians in their ears nd around their necks dah God promised them. the jewellery was God given...twas wah dey used to build d tabernacle. even kings were adorned with jewellery. Family › Re: Some Sweet USUALS Every Husband Is Supposed To Be Giving To His Wife by lacedup(m): 7:13am On Jan 27, 2015 |
emusmith: Every Lady, I mean ALL are emotional and thus likes to be appreciated and loved, even the ones with seemingly loud mouth.
These things I'm about to mention are SUPPOSED to be usual but as time flies, men throw away their first love outa thin air. How pathetic!
I'm Single but I do believe (without apology or contrary opinions) that my future home will be Heaven on Earth because I'll make it work
I believe in love. I believe men ought to love their wives first, then upon her will come the inner strength to respect him unreservedly (some ladies be like, Now You're Talking )- okay
I have a vision of still being romantic to my wife at 80 and beyond.
It's easy only if a guy and a girl can settle down to plan at courtship how their home should look like. I have seen a few homes like that and that made me feel like getting married almost immediately
I'm not a Woman Wrapper... But even if I am to one Lucky woman, it's worth it.
What Are Some Sweet Usuals Every Man Is Supposed To Be Giving To Her Wife?
1. Pillow fight
Many marriages lack this game. Pillow fights lessens Real fights. It unites two people together. Have you ever played a video game with a crush before? If you have, you'll understand what I'm saying. Guys, hit her softly sha o... ...
2. Hold her hand in the street.
You may wonder why this is included... Except for some new couples and a few elderly ones, some men have gotten too familiar with their wives that they feel so " I dunno" to hold their wives hands on the street. As a matter of fact, this means a lot to her. It tells her your love for hasn't diminished a bit.
3. Be initiative enough to always take her out on special days.
Perhaps, you have grown up kids, take your wife out alone... The wife of your youth ... It's Valentine's Day, go on a date with her to re-enact your love for her. Your company's party? Take her along even if she's pregnant unless she refuses...
4. Open the car door for her.
This isn't ancient. Doing it makes her feel really special. You treat her like a Queen, She treats you like a King, remember? Do all you can to keep her smiling all the time- She is your wife o Who says it's wrong to buy her flowers...?
5. Wash her clothes even when she didn't ask
Some men are like King Kong. They so hold tenaciously the school of thought that doing such things for a Lady you're in relationship with makes her belittle you...That's Low Self Esteem! The Normal Ones respect and love you the more...You're helping her. 90% of women love this... Some will Form they don't but they do. Not when she is pregnant o, when she's okay and even lazily walking around...
6. Buy her little things she adores like her favorite chocolate etc.
Have you witnessed a lady in tears before just because she is trying to convey her feelings for you? What makes this happen is because you're helping her. Money isn't everything- it's important but not in this context! The gold diggers, will say otherwise. When you buy her those little things, you're telling her how THOUGHTFUL you are. An example is: After many weeks, I called a girlfriend just some hours before her exams and her reply was, "So you still remembered". I sensed something. Small things makes her let out the Big things.
7. Help Her In The Kitchen
Helping your wife in the kitchen does not mean wanting to show your cooking tech... Mba! It's not forming "I can do it better". In fact, hide your cooking skills! Don't get her to feel like the 2nd best...hype her, tease her...that she cooks excellently even if she sucks at it. If she's smart and wise, she'll put more effort to improving her skills if necessary. Your wife owns the kitchen. You own the yard. Help her cut onions, peel the yams and slice the tomatoes. Work as a team! Your mummy visiting you guys shouldn't try to lord it over her in HER kitchen... unless there's an understanding
SUMMARY: This thread is my belief system. Other threads might not totally agree but... I believe strongly this is how ME and every other guy aspiring to be a Father, Husband and the Head of the home some day ought to comport ourselves with our wives.
Ladies: You can add more.
Guys: What do y'all think? Hehehe...u kno say ure wif go cheat on u live ba...way too nyc niqqa....way too nyc...is dah bae God ni...cz d way u dey worship am she go grow wings pass Boeing airbus... |

Romance › Re: 10 Common Misconceptions Guys Have About Nigerian Ladies by lacedup(m): 6:57am On Jan 27, 2015 |
LaurelP: Guys have a lot of wrong notions about ladies especially Naija ladies. These beliefs most times are partially or totally incorrect, but because of societal norms and our culture, most ppl still believe them anyway. There are many of them but I will just mention 10 and leave u to mention urs.
1.Ladies who are social are promiscuous: The average Naija guy beleives dat ladies who are very social and confident are wayward and love sex a lot. This is actually wrong as many girls who are free and mingle with guys are actually virgins. 2.Ladies with big bosoms is a result of constant handling by guys: Even me I used to have this impression before I got to know that a lady can be busty naturally without having guys constantly handling her breasts. Those days, we will be making jest of girls with big bosom and calling dem all sorts of names. That's wat ignorance can cause, now I know better, lols!
3. Ladies with big bottom is a result of excess sperm: Many guys believe dat ladies who have big backsides get it from excess sperm from guys. But this is not true. There are ladies who acquired their assets naturally, not a result of guys sleeping with them.
4. Ladies who are quiet are decent: This is not always true. My experience with women have taught me that quiet and calm ladies are usually worse dan the social and talkative ones. Its when u are alone with them dat u will know who they really are!
5. Those ladies who cover their whole body and don't wear trouser are decent: If I hear! It could just be as a result of fear of parents or religious beliefs or just lack of modernity. Decency or being responsible has got nothing to do with whether a lady wears trouser or Mary Amaka! Its in the mind.
6. A rich young lady must be a runs girl: Not in all cases oo. There are many ladies who are working hard and making their cool dough legitimately. I know of one in my town who's building a house for her family. She's d only female in a family of 7 men and she's the only one dat got a very gud job in an airport.
7. All Naija ladies love Money: But really is there anybody that hates money? Both male and female? The way guys paint it is wrong though, as if all they care for is money and no other thing. There are still Naija ladies who will love you for you are, and even support you (financially) if need be.
8. Naija ladies can't do without a guy that has got a nice car: That's for hungry ladies. I've seen ladies who have turned down guys who have really nice rides for guys with Legedez Benz, lolz.
9. Thß ey are not smart or brilliant: Na lie! The last time I checked, more ladies are making 1st Class these days than guys. Besides we have many ladies who are doing pretty well in their fields. I no get power to type their name abeg, u know them.
10. They are too pompous and proud: This may be partially true, but not all of them. Besides, what guys mistake as pride may be a result of shyness. Many of them are shy but they cover it up by putting on a facade of pomposity and pride to avoid guys taking advantage of them.
Feel free to add yours.

Politics › Re: Who Is More Relaxed Here (GMB Or GEJ) In The Meeting With John Kerry by lacedup(m): 6:47am On Jan 27, 2015 |
Gbawe: Analysts of body language will tell you it is Kerry's posture in the two pictures that reveals which is the more relaxed tete-a-tete. Talking to Buhari, Kerry is 'open' with his arms spread wide as if at ease completely while his back leans into the chair showing 'relaxed mode'. Kerry appears laid back talking to Buhari as if addressing a friend, ally or someone he is favourably disposed to. Kerry seems to be enjoying his visit to Buhari.
Whereas he is 'closed' , with defensively clasped hands, talking to GEJ. Kerry is upright and literally 'uptight' in the picture with GEJ. He appears uncomfortable as if he could not wait to leave. Kerry's body language shows he does not appear to be engaging with GEJ sincerely or approvingly whereas the opposite is the case with Buhari with Kerry appearing relaxed and as if talking to someone he is about to do very productive business with. Obvious Kerry is more relaxed with Buhari whereas his meeting with GEJ looks like a diplomatic visit to a leader one has to acknowledge but does not respect, rate or approve of at all. Finally someone on dis forum dah understands body language....nyc analysis bruv |
