Politics › Re: How Do I Cope? by LaClicKLaBenDin(m): 9:13pm On Dec 04, 2016 |
illuminated93: By October 2016, I was done with my nysc, while in service I met friends who advised me to go into internet scam so as to cope with life after service, but I'm a human being who believes in karma,i chose not to do that. After service,i held talks with my parents on the next step to take in life;my dad opted for me to continue with school, but I felt all these paper qualifications and yet one might not get to the level of Dangote! I've always wanted to be a business man, My fiancee just gave that wish a life by advising me to learn a business,so I told my dad i'd like to learn a business, then after learning i'd like him to invest on the business rather than investing on school bills. Presently, i'm learning a trade somewhere in lagos among the igbos.
The essence of this write up It's been 1month and 2 weeks since I started learning. The truth is, I don't know if to say I'm hating everything that connects to the business. The traders,i mean the guys I get to see from Monday to Friday are uninspiring, basically illiterates, whenever I get to go to the shop,i just pray for my wristwatch to read 5pm so I can get back home. My boss, even if he understands his business, is basically an illiterate,i guess a pry6 holder or a secondary school graduate,he tries to dominate, and at times when he talks you just know this guy is an illiterate, but you can't challenge him. Recently, a cold war has ensued between us,cos I'm someone who is not easily controlled. He acts like I'm in some competition with him, he says things like this business I'm learning is harder than school, he tries to paint this picture of an education not being important and lesser, but, money greater. Even when he say all these, I don't reply,i basically don't talk to him or the traders around on a friendly basis,I just try to be professional in my dealings with them. I try to observe and pay attention whenever he's transacting a business, and I must say there is nothing hard about the business. Getting to stay with these guys make me sick, whenever I get to remember that I need to resume the shop the next day,i just go depressed. I planned learning from him for just a year,it's clear I'm not happy with what I'm doing. But a 9 to 5 is something I wouldn't want. It's not as if I hate the business, infact i'd be happy the day I get start the business on my own,but this learning period, getting to learn from someone who hates what he can't conquer is depressing enough. Nairalanders,i typed this from the innermost chambers of my heart, just advice me in a constructive manner, I still want to be a businessman though, but it's clear I'm not happy with the environment, how do I cope? Cc Seun,i'd lyk your input too, knowing you're a businessman
Mynd44 Lalasticlala Tonyebarcanista Harddon Conquerewest Bennyann Blueagent Bro, what you're facing is normal, very normal. One thing you should note is; whenever you're with people like that, they feel intimidated by the mere fact that you're educated and would do anything to lord over you....but that's no problem. My happiness is that you're passionate about the business you set out to learn. There's never a sweet learning curve, even in school, lecturers treated us like glorified animals. You've just got to be focused on learning the business very well. Let the learning process be your motivation, your driving force, allow your passion to learn be paramount to you. Try as much as you can to relate with them, come down a bit to their level, that's the surest way of learning business secrets...very vital! Your staying away and being all professional isn't helping, that makes them feel you're feeling like you're better than they are, just because you're educated. Trust me, I reside in Onitsha which is predominantly populated by these type of people. Some times you've got to play the fool to fool the fool. Learn how to get along with them, learn their mindset, because you will deal with a lot of them when you eventually start of your business. Lastly, and most importantly, stay focused on your objective for being in such an environment and these things won't deter you. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why I'm Convinced That No One Will Make Heaven, Be You A Christian Or A Pagan by LaClicKLaBenDin(m): 2:23pm On Dec 04, 2016 |
jonbellion: lol they did a cutaway of that in family guy Bin laden repented at the last minute and made heaven This This bullshit is what christians believe It is no bullshit! This is how deep God's love for man is. Like I said on another thread, God has already made provision for the whole world to be saved through the death of Jesus. You just only need to repent, and regardless of your sins, you will be forgiven. God doesn't desire the death of the sinner, but that all should come to repentance. I don't know why you guys just hate anything God does? How could people come to hate their Creator this much? You accuse him of genocide, of so many atrocities, and even criticize his desire to save anyone who repents. The Bible says " if you confess your sins and forsake them, I am faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you of all your sins". Jesus' death on the cross has made provision for anyone and everyone to be saved, even you! |
Health › Re: Who Do Doctors Go To When They Fall Sick? by LaClicKLaBenDin(m): 6:46am On Dec 04, 2016 |
maclatunji: Let us get one thing right first –I am not a doctor. Now, that we got that out of the way, I can continue with my article from my perspective as a layman and patient to some doctors. Remember, if there are no patients there would not be need for doctors.
I was very inquisitive as a child with many questions running through my mind, one of the ones I remember vividly is: what happens to the food we ate? Do we have eba in our head for example or rice in our hands? Of course, I later learnt digestion in primary school (I cannot remember the class but I am sure it would be about the same class where you learnt it too).
Another big question which was quite logical to me at the time is: who do doctors go to for treatment when they fall ill (or sick as we say in Naija English)? Up till today I have not gotten a clear answer. Sure, I know doctors see other doctors for treatment but what I am not sure of is if they do so willingly or grudgingly. You know like Doctor Hope is examining Doctor Faith and the latter is thinking in her mind –‘what does she even know sef? I was smarter than her in med school’. Is this what happens to some doctors or do they willingly revert to the role of the patient that follows the doctor’s advice (pun intended)?
Another way of looking at this is the economics of it; why should one doctor pay another for a service that in theory at least they can provide for themselves? I might think like this if I were a doctor and I would love to know what doctors think and what their experiences are on the subject.

4everGod: He has a philosophical view which doesnt mean his musings are true but they just make him ask more questions like a man wishing to ensure everything makes sense which is tantamount to him wanting to download all of God into his mind which is impossible. God cannot be rationalized and everything about Him cannot make sense in as much as we are not on the same level as He is.
Thats his dilemma No one can ever understand God and the universe using the carnal mind. The world we see today came out of the supernatural. He can only have his doubts cleared, if only he yields to the Spirit of the living God. The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit will lead us into ALL TRUTH. |

AngelsAndStars: hmmm I am also a Christian so I wouldn't want to talk ill against Christ. this is the same hypocritical attitude religion holds, who knows? Jesus might have thought something different.
if you read my thread in my age one. different religions started in different areas of the earth. everyone should be considered victims of life mystery and puzzle. each people made up a religion to help them learn about the creator. and the creator didn't kill anyone.
many stories in the Bible cannot be verified. but rather believed by faith.
I will open another thread about the creation story and you'll see clearly that it's only but a myth. except you choose to block your reasoning as always.
meanwhile, the creator knows humans are helpless, we didn't create ourselves. we didn't ask "adam" to eat fruit. how can we pay for sins of someone we don't even know?
if the creator can be so petty(i doubt) then I'd say we humans have better sense of judgement than him.
do not insult God Hmmm... I really do not have strength for this. Maybe you need to tell me where you actually stand. |

AngelsAndStars: there is no real God or fake. religions are channels to get to the creator.
the only religion I dislike is Islam. it's philosophy is archaic and they never want to change it. I beg to differ with you on this. Jesus is the only channel to the creator, and that's what it is. They're fake gods, but my God is the God of them all. |

AngelsAndStars: “When I began my career as a cosmologist some twenty years ago, I was a convinced atheist. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true, that these claims are straightforward deductions of the laws of physics as we now understand them. I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics.” “From the perspective of the latest physical theories, Christianity is not a mere religion, but an experimentally testable science.”
—Professor of Mathematical Physics Frank Tipler, author of The Physics of Christianity and The Physics of Immortality. Tipler is one of the two founders of the famous anthropic principle regarding the fundamental physical constants necessary for the origin of life. He became a Christian as a result of his science. This why the Christian God, is the real and authentic God. For those who always ask which God is the real one. |

Seun: Dude you are embarrassing yourself. It is not meaningful to say that the human body is made from the dust of the earth if the elemental composition of the human being is so different from what it was supposedly made from. Why would God use the soil to create man which means he would need to first reconstitute the dust at an elemental level, mostly removing some elements like silicon and aluminum and adding massive quantities of others like carbon before recombining the elements into the proteins, lipids, and bones that our bodies are actually made up of? It makes no sense at all. The trouble with being an apologist is having to defend the undefendable. The problem with being an unbeliever is not knowing the power that created the universe. Do you mean to tell me that the One who created the universal could have any difficulty doing what you just stated above? |

Such speculations may not be so reliable, but at least they are based on some evidence. The biblical myth has no evidence at all. Some old Jew probably made up the stories to entertain his grandchildren and it was passed on until people forgot that it was made up. If the minute details which make up the whole isn't reliable, then, how can the whole be reliable and termed a fact? |
