Have you ever seen a Batch e.g 2015 Batch A or B (stream 1) entryin' camp in 2016? It's not done like that, no matter the delay Batch B (stream 1) will be in camp before Christmas, they will be in camp middle of November, after the camp they start the normal service after Christmas, stream it will join by mid January.


I don't work at nysc, but I work in a cyber cafe for over 12 years, I know most of the times they do their nysc stuffs. No Batch will skip it's year, only stream II does that

It doesn't really matter, NYSC has been inconsistent since 2015. No one believed batch b16 (stream 2) would go to camp in January 2017; it was the first time such happened.

Let's just see how things play out, the only 'certain' thing is that Batch B17 cannot resume camp before Batch B16 (stream 2) passes out...and batch b16 will most likely pass out in December or at earliest, November (which would mean they only served for a little more than 9months, rather than the usual 11-12months).

From my little knowledge of their process, I think a stream moves in by November, and another one moves in by January.

That was just for batch b16. Batch B15, stream 1 and 2 went to camp in October and November respectively.

Your point is noted. But you should know it wasn't this way in the past. The calendar was altered due to some certain issues then, that has actually resulted to the delay.

Following your analysis here, it means in the future NYSC will end up with just one batch a year which is highly unacceptable. So, I think the norm that has to do with a particular batch of a certain year leaving service before another batch comes in, is not so rigid. It is subject to amendment when the need arises.

The calendar needs to put in order, possibly by shortening the duration of those currently in active service. I'm sure NYSC are looking into this. So, fingers crossed. Let's hear from NYSC directly.

The fact that they're not rigid makes them unreliable.

In the past too, when the system was in 3 batches, batches don't meet themselves in service eg batch b12 won't meet b11 in service.

Like you rightly mentioned, the delay was as a result of funding issues, last year precisely...and the only way they can rectify it is for stream 2 corpers to have a shorter service period and pass out with stream one like it was done in 2015A.

Just like bussieboi said above, you can't meet batch B16 corp members in service.

While stream one will most likely pass out in (early) October, stream 2 will pass out @ earliest, first week in December (since they went to camp late January).

I believe the earliest time Batch B17 will go to camp is January 2017 so it is just better not to put your hopes anytime soon so as not to be disappointed. Infact, some who are unlucky to be in stream 2 could go as late as March 2018. Those who have served or are serving will understand. As time passes too, you'll all get to understand that NYSC is very unreliable and disorganized.

My little advice for those waiting for batch b17, is that you should try to learn something (acquire a skill, learn a trade, professional courses etc) or simply look for a job or internship that will keep you busy and earn you a small income rather than waiting at home for some unreliable programme.

Yes its their decision but yet the rules are there for guidance. One entry per week. He made a mistake of 100 naira stake wch is normal, why didn't he restake with 200 naira which is the minimum. Restaking with another 100 naira and saying the 2 tickets should count is ridiculous. So he shot himself on the foot.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm sure a lawyer will know how to explain better; if the entries are totally identical and a notice was put up (as at the time of posting), I think it will be fair to allow the ticket stand. They can pass as one entry.

It is up to the organizers anyway.

This is a very dicey one.

100naira is not the minimum stake but here, we have it staked twice on the same ticket in the space of minutes.

In my opinion, the ticket(s) should be allowed to stand if it/they fulfil(s) all the conditions.

1. If the games selection is exactly the same on both tickets.
2. If the odds, (individual games and total odds) are exactly the same in both tickets.
3. If he had put a notice/disclaimer/admittance of error while posting the ticket and duly mentioned the organizers.

If all these aren't met, the ticket should be forfeited.

This is just my opinion anyway. The verdict lies in the organizers' court.
