I can tell you that lots of Halliburton, Schlumberger and Baker Hughes folks are on the NNPC EH journey. When I said service companies would chew and spit you out, I was referring to them. There are incredible opportunities to be had with companies like SLB, HAL & BHGE. You get to work in remote places across the world. The pay is great especially as a field engineer, your field bonus which could be a fixed amount or even a percentage of your field ticket makes it so much better. SLB and Baker have training schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively so that's where you go for your initial training. Advanced training would see you go to the US, usually Houston and Dallas. Maintenance folks at Baker go to Celle, Germany where they have a manufacturing hub. You could be in a pool of engineers that work for this Geomarket which basically means you work in all of West and Central Africa. Then you may become internationally mobile and go way beyond Africa. When you get to that point, you are on the track to the big leagues. Sounds good right? All these good stuff may be truncated the minute oil prices take a nose dive. Headcount reduction is the first cost saving measure they implement. At that point it won't matter if you had been trained in space or worked at some intergalactic wellsite, you could be sent home. It's a cycle of boom and burst. A lot of people want the stability and relatively mild atmosphere of the IOCs and NOCs while others live for the adrenaline of service companies.

Generally the multinationals are better for young graduates because you will gain a lot of experience and they will invest a lot in you on foreign training and stress you a lot with work (this is a good thing). But then they have higher staff turnover. The national companies will offer more job security and some times pay at par or even better.

Putting "objective" before the "truth" indicates you have chosen your side of the divide.

Not that I jump into these sort of arguments but I will like to clarify that what is wrong is a matter of perspective. Some times what is right to the Christian is wrong to the Muslim and what is wrong to the Muslim is right to the Christian. In other words what is wrong is not always wrong but dependent on which side of the divide you stand. If you ask me I will say you should leave judgement to God and God alone.

It is good you mentioned your age so everyone is very clear from the perspective you are talking from. It is obvious you haven't been in competitive and nationwide recruitment like this before. I graduated at age 25 and I started earning even before I finished serving and I can tell you I have not worked for any small company since graduating and I am on my fourth job. The simple thing you young lads are being told here is that what is wrong is wrong! it doesn't matter if you have done the wrong thing several times and succeed but what is wrong is wrong. It is not ethical to share explicitly interview questions to other candidates while the process is still ongoing. This is the simple thing you are being told. It is just not about NNPC recruitment.

pro-rated, that's about 550k per month..550k per month isn't far at all from 3 companies in your first list, two of which are 650k. and 775k. The only companies in that list i don't know anything about are exxon and Total. i know exact values of 3 there. See, i can attach payslip evidence here so don't think there are not other well connected ''industry experts'' on here. Don't want to attach such for obvious reasons. So with that stated, the applicant can then consider other benefits like work life balance, study and government related benefits

Hi guys, I'm a bit confused now. I used WAEC two sittings to gain admission into a Polytechnic where I finished best graduating student with distinction hons, and also a 2:1 at an engineering course from one of the top 3 universities in Nigeria. Knowing this, I wrote a GCE in 100L clearing all my 9 papers (6 distinctions, 3 credits).

Now, I went to WAEC office to collect my certificate last week but I was told it won't be ready until mid July. Can I still use the online printout with 9 papers complete or use the old two sittings. I was even thinking of attaching a new scratch for my result validation on spot.

As WAEC to certify it as a true copy. Or ask them to give you something they can certify. What ever they give you go to the interview with your previous results too.

If you don't have a suite a descent corporate attire as you described is fine. The cardigan should be plain or almost plain.

Exactly. Most people in NNPC get in without knowing anybody.

I was recruited during the last campaign back in 2012 without knowing anyone. I have many friends and coursemates as well who got in that year without knowing anyone. (I have since left so really don't have any 'insider' news)

Prepare well for the interview and pray for a bit of luck. I remember seeing my interview score, and how it was graded. The interview usually appears easy and most people leave the interview panel feeling good but not everyone will eventually make it. So be prepared.

Over 500 was recruited during the 2012 recruitment. Hopefully, more will be recruited this year. Every state will be represented.

I think it will be fair at this point to ask what the remuneration in NNPC is. I have a job in Lagos that pays well (just about 1M a month) plus other pecks. It will be a sacrifice skipping work for this interview. I applied for a Supervisory role.

Any idea of what supervisors' total remuneration is, will be much appreciated.

Guys, I want us all to use the words of President Buhari on June 12 to make a positive drive towards the success of everyone of us. Recall that the president said that he is ready to take 100 million Nigerians out of poverty. Why don't we make it as a push via social media platforms that the President should start his said process by employing at least 80% of NNPC applicants and also do same for the Nigeria Customs Service applicants too. This alone will automatically foster his ambition to alleviate poverty in the country.
