ALTRUTH: [b]I am beginning to sense that Yorubas are nursing this fear that Igbos are secretly plotting to take their land from them and that is why they are trying their best to show the Igbos that "We own this land." However, nothing could be farther from the truth. We are in Lagos to work, do our businesses and generally make a living. I have also read comments saying that the East is not developed but this is a big lie, the East is developed although Abia & Ebonyi are lagging) and is still developing as I write. Travel to the East and see for yourselves instead of shouting "caves, caves" as you often do. Yes, there is no state in the East as developed as Lagos just like there is no other state like Lagos in Nigeria. Another thing you guys must note is that our land in the East is too small for us that is another reason where you find us in great numbers in Lagos and parts of the north. Competition in the East is very stiff and we cannot all stay there. The bolded above is very laughable. What you are sensing is absolutely false! Yorubas are the most accommodating tribe in Nigeria-fact! It is only in Yoruba land that all tribes can live in peace and be treated fairly, it is only in Yorubaland that any tribe in Nigeria can come and reside and they and their families will have equal access to education, healthcare and other public facilities and amenities. I am tired of listening to all the story that an Hausa man was Mayor of Enugu or Aba in the 1930s or thereabouts, the fact is that it is only in YORUBA LAND that you will find an Ibo man hold such an important position as the Commissioner of Finance- we are very progressive in our orientation and deeds. However, a lot of people have misunderstood the gentility of the Tiger as weakness; Or how will OUK and a lot of IBOs declare Lagos as No Man's Land? The same land that gave Ibos the opportunity to rebuild their lives after the civil war? The same Land that educated your children? You say the competition is very stiff in the SE, what do you exactly mean by that? Are you trying to imply that all the the potentials of all your states have already been taken advantage of? Your assertion is very ironic given the fact that the SE is relatively not as developed as the SW; I would have imagined that given the acclaimed Ibo ingenuity and brilliance, Ndigbo would have developed and taken optimal advantage of the opportunities in their own land before seeking it elsewhere. You claim to be Jews, but have you looked at how the Israelis are dominating the world in sectors such as IT, Science and Research? Most of this is done in Tel-Aviv and they have a loud voice all over the world due to their ability to be innovative and creative. I am not being disingenuous, but I can hardly see any resemblance in culture, attitude or mindset between Ibos or Jews. The most important thing you said is that we should have mutual respect for each other- very important point! Respect however is a two way street, I can only respect you if and when you respect me. Ibos saying that Lagos is a no mans land is not respect, it is absolute disrespect. Respect begets respect my dear friend. |
berem: OAM4J, why did you lock that thread? you would have simply hid the disgusted comments and allow others who are not involved in tribal bashing to continue posting. That's not fair!If he hides the disgusting comments, 90% of the posts will be hidden. |
naptu2: They can appeal to the super-mod or the admin (by e-mail), who will look into the case and decide whether to reduce the ban, unban the person, leave things as they are or increase the ban.Who are the Super-Mod and Admin? |
Obiagelli: Exactly, creating another account just for conspiracy shows no remorse. The even go as far as attacking mod when the clearly broke forum rulesI agree with you but I have heard from people here that a particular Mod bans people till 2100, what is your advise for those people? |
naptu2: A member can appeal a ban by sending an e-mail to the mod, super-mod or admin. They don't need to create a new account to do that.I can assure that Sexkillz will not acknowledge or reply any email. Well maybe it is because ---never mind |
I will appeal to the Mods to go and do their job on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/1406959/lagos-labels-spare-parts-dealers-security As usual, the first pages are dominated by Ibos where they are allowed to post their abuses with impunity. When the Yorubas come in and start retaliating- it becomes messy and we all know what happens after- the Yorubas get banned indiscriminately. I will like to which Mod has been to the thread because I can a hidden post on the first page. |
dayokanu: Who am I seeing?Anything to say now Bruv? I will be embarrassed if I was you ![]() |
ngozievergreen: taaaaaaa, as far as aba is concerned, its all about d roads and its sanitation.Actually I think it is you and others that should eat the humble pie. I have noticed an unusual resignation by a lot of posters who would have been remonstrating the Yorubas if these pictures had been those of the SW. As opposed to the usual Google images that are posted on NL, these pictures are a firsthand account of a person that visited Aba for the first time and as you can see, it was not a pretty sight. I think you should learn to check closer to home before pointing out deficiencies in other people's lands. It has been swept under the carpet but we have also learnt that some posters, including those who bear a responsibility of being neutral quickly come to conclusions and accuse posters of having an agenda when the OP clearly was been forthright in her post. |
Afam4eva: I was against the former title of the thread which has been changed. I could care less about exposing the criminal in the name of Theo Orji.No Afam, you initial post was not about the title of the thread, please let us be frank. Your comments were: It's obvious the OP had an agenda when she brought out her cameras to take pictures. of course these pics are mostly like those of Aba but you can't travel to Aba and tell me that these are the best pictures you could take. That comment was not about the title, it was about the OP taking those particular pictures. |
Abagworo: Right from the day I was born, I've always heard of Aba as having bad roads. Now I'm grown and I've known Aba and I've seen with my own eyes that it has bad roads. Check all over Nairaland and you'll see pictures posted by Aba residents about how bad the Governor has been to Aba even though everyone seem to accept one fact that the bad roads of Aba preceded this government. Even Mbakwe was called the weeping Governor because he wept for Aba roads. Even MASSOB came out to say the same thing.I understand all you are saying but why would a Moderator immediately raise the agenda card immediately the pictures were put up? If Aba roads have been bad all along, don't you think the OP should be applauded for raising the issue? Rather she was immediately castigated and attacked by a Moderator who should be neutral in issues like this |
FreeGlobe: The OP I believe is one of the detribalized yorubas on nairaland. I have no problem with her posting these pictures, I believe its not borne out of malicious intent unlike fellow yorubas on nairaland. I will however advise maintain her privacy outside nairaland as the Abia State govt will not take this likely.lol. I just have a problem with the malicious intent of the nairaland mods who took this to the hompage. Such threads as Fashola is a dictator - PDP, Aregbesola declares public holidays for traditional worshippers and others have not been accorded the same treatement. But that is not what the Moderator said, immediately he saw the pictures, his reaction was that it was agenda driven. I will have seen a lot of threads on NL where people put up Bad pictures of Ibadan and I have never seen a Moderator accuse the poster of having an agenda. |
Afam4eva: It's obvious the OP had an agenda when she brought out her cameras to take pictures. of course these pics are mostly like those of Aba but you can't travel to Aba and tell me that these are the best pictures you could take.@ Afam, I think you are the one that is taking this personally, why does this bother you so much? I am quite intrigued because recent posts from some Nairalanders suggested that Aba was more developed than most of the SW, I will commend the OP for shedding more light on the state of affairs in Aba. If anyone is angry about these pictures, then they direct their anger to the leaders who should take responsibility for the pathetic state of that place |
Is this not the same woman that disgraced our President GEJ when she interviewed him? Fairplay to her |
Petty and immature behavior and to think that these people are running the country? ![]() |
dayokanu: Your lovely team ke? Abeg oo No go carry bad luck for your head ooArsenal for life. It is a long distance race not 100 meters. We don't engage in short-termism. ![]() |
dayokanu: I thought Wenger said there were not players to sign.Mr Man can you stop harassing My lovely team. ![]() We will buy quality and not quantity. |
Mr Aboki: You moen we spent 30 million on his funeral and only got this shiit to show for it?You might think you are being funny but you are not. I think you should show some respect. Remember sooner or later, you have to go through the same. Peace |
Please OamJ, Afam and the great Sexkillz I am waiting for the reason why a MOD deleted my post on the Progressive thread earlier today. |
Please mods , which Mod hid my post on the Progressive thread on Politics Forum. I will appreciate if that Mod can tell me why this post was hidden. Same with me, till a few months ago, I never joined in any tribal conflicts at all. My best friend in University was Ibo, found a lot of them decent. All this started when I saw the way they insulted Wole Soyinka and their reaction when LASG took some destitutes to Anambra state. I read some of their comments with disdain, I was mortified that some of them actually agree with OUK that Lagos is a no mans land. Then I started digging deeper on all the argument between Yourubas and Ibos online- shocking! The funniest part of it is that nonsensical thread about putting an end to ethnic hostilities- what rubbish! You do not end hostilities by banning people who you disagree with or do not belong to your tribe. You make things worse which is what they have done now. Thanks to the "good works" of some Mods People who previously had a nonchalant attitude to these issues are now seeing a clearer picture of the facts. Now I know that it is every people for themselves, there is no unity, every group have their own agenda and Nairaland from the Mods, to posters is a good example of this. I shunned issues like this before but I have discovered the political animal in me and I will proudly support the Yoruba Agenda wholeheartedly. |
Happy to be a member of such a forward looking, progressive group. May God Bless us all. Can I humbly add Babe Online and Softwareman to the list and we should also remember gallant handles who have unfortunately been banned for 40, 50 and in some cases 100 years by enemies of progress. |
teskyg: @ Clevery, what's ur business?Am sure u are a northerner or westerner.I dont understand you at all, so only people from the SE should have an interest in the election? As long as that state is in Nigeria, then any Nigerian can make a comment or have an interest in it. Do you or your friends vote in Lagos Governorship elections? |
FreeGlobe: So you are from ogun state Eko ile. A Moslem. And you have Lagos in your mouth 24/7. Tell me why you escaped being deported if Fashola the bigot really deported yorubas. I see why you have refused to associate yourself with your state.I will like to know if the Mods have taken any action on you? Or are they missing this one? |
