One of the daughters of former NAFDAC boss late Dora Akunyili, Somto, is set to wed her fiance, Chinonso Asuzu. Both medical practitioners based in the US, they got engaged in May this year. They have been in a relationship since 2012. They had a long distance relationship for about three years until they met for the first time in December last year. Their wedding will hold in Agulu, Anambra state. Congrats to them.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday disclosed that he was neither persuaded nor forced to concede defeat to President Buhari after the 2015 presidential election. Jonathan said this when he spoke at the convocation ceremony of Bingham University, Nassarawa state where he was awarded a honorary doctorate degree.

‘It is my belief that no one’s political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. And I am fulfilled knowing that my conceding while the votes were still being compiled, which was born out of my personal principles and convictions, is generating positive impact in other nations. Let me make it clear, that I was not persuaded to do so by anyone within or outside the country.
I know it was the right thing to do. ‘’My mantra “my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian” is my vow.

Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti has ordered that Governor Ayodele Fayose's accounts in Zenith Bank be defrozen with immediate effect. The accounts were frozen by the EFCC in June, this year. However, in his landmark judgment today, Justice Taiwo Taiwo described the EFCC action as illegal, wrongful, unlawful and unconstitutional.

The judge said the EFCC action breached the governor's fundamental rights to fair hearing, as the commission did not make him a party to the proceedings for the interim freezing of the account. He said that the EFCC suppressed facts by not disclosing to the court that granted the interim freezing order that the two accounts that were frozen belonged to Governor who enjoys total constitutional immunity.

Justice Taiwo also said that the EFCC did not provide any credible evidence empowering it to carry out the freezing of the accounts using Zenith Bank as a proxy, whereas, Zenith Bank is a mere custodian and not the owner of the accounts, which evidence has shown belong to the Governor. The judge ruled that being a person covered fully by Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, no legal proceedings can be instituted against Governor Fayose.

He also said that any law including some sections of the EFCC acts like Sections 28, 31, and 44 that expropriate citizens rights must be construed strictly and usually in favour of citizens whose properties have been confiscated. Governor Fayose's Counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), hailed the judgment, describing the judge as courageous and firm.

He said the judge, by the judgement laid to rest all the abracadabra of the EFCC in illegally, wrongfully, unlawfully and unconstitutionally going about on a rampage freezing Nigeria citizens accounts with reckless abandon. Ozekhome also said that Justice Taiwo further restored the hope of Nigerians in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and woman and the guardian sentinel of the civil rights, liberties and freedoms of Nigerians.

They fire several rounds of shots to stop the predator in its tracks before it reaches them.

The video which has over 1milliion views has started trending again, with some viewers arguing on whether the hunters could have found a more humane way to deter the bear, while others supported the hunters, commending them for shooting the bear.

The identities of those killed when the roof of Reigners Bible Church International church in Uyo, collapsed are emerging. One of them is Queen Ekong. Her friend and one of the survivors, Nonye Richy confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post. She is currently being mourned online by her devastated friends and family members.

I tot it was a joke wen i cane out alive until i saw the gal sitting closed to me split in halves by the rod. The Ministry of Budget and National Planning has explained that the Federal Government is not looking to source any loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as reported by a national newspaper today.
While briefing a French delegation that visited him in Abuja on Thursday, on what the Federal Government was doing to drive revenue for its activities, the Minister, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, explained generally that government was exploring both internal and external sources, but emphasized that in the case of external sources, government would only be looking at institutions that can give concessionary terms. Throughout the statement issued by the Ministry on the visit, which was not covered by any media organization, no mention was made of any specific loan from any institution. The Federal Government does not have need to go to the IMF for any loan at this time.
