Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/02/13/no-governor-has-been-indicted-over-paris-club-loan-reimbursement-efcc-says/

Over the weekend, Sahara Reporters, published a story indicting former state governors and Senate President Bukola Saraki, of benefiting from the Paris club loan reimbursement. EFCC this morning released a statement denying this claim, saying although it is investigating allegations of embezzlements, no governor has been indicted. Read the statement after the cut...

The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has been drawn to a report captioned, Nigerian State Governors, Senate President Saraki Pocketed Billions of Naira from Paris Loan Refund, which appeared in the online news portal, Sahara Reporters on Sunday February 12, 2017 .

The report among others claimed that the Commission has indicted all the governors of the 36 states of the Federation and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki in the ongoing investigation of the reimbursement paid to state governments by the Federal Government for excessive deduction charged to them on account of the Paris Club and other international loans. The Commission wishes to state unequivocally, that no state governor or Senate President has been indicted so far by the investigation which is still at a preliminary stage.

Also, insinuations about cover up by some officials of the Commission are untrue as there is no incentive to do so. The Commission implores the Media to be circumspect in the reportage of this delicate issue in order not to jeopardize ongoing investigation, and be assured that they would be fully briefed of developments as soon as breakthrough is achieved.

CelebritiesAdele Confirms She's Secretly Married, Slams Estranged Dad In Grammy Awards Spee by lagosmp3(op): 10:56am On Feb 13, 2017
Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/02/13/adele-confirms-shes-secretly-married-slams-estranged-dad-grammy-awards-speech/

Adele has confirmed that she secretly married her long term partner, Simon Konecki. She made this revelation during her Grammy Awards speech. The singer who won five awards was emotional as she took to the stage to accept the award for best album.

She thanked her "husband" gesturing towards partner Simon Konecki who watched from the audience, saying

"Grammys, I appreciate it, the Academy, I love you, my manager, my husband and my son - you're the only reason I do it"

For months there had been speculations that Adele tied the knot secretly in December. This was after the singer was spotted wearing a gold band on her ring finger while she was out shopping. Now, with her acceptance speech, she has taken away all doubts.

Adele and Simon, share a four-year-old son, Angelo, together, and have been together for over five years before they got engaged in October last year.

Adele who beat Beyonce to win album of the year award dedicated her award to Bey, moving the expectant mother to tears with her words.

"I can't possibly accept this award," she said.

Speaking on the Lemonade Album, Adele said "I'm very humble and I'm grateful and gracious but my artist of my life is Beyonce and the Lemonade album was just so monumental - Beyonce, it was so monumental and so well thought out and so beautiful and soul baring and we all got to see another side to you that you don't always let us see and we appreciate that. All us artists here, we adore you, you are our light.

"The way you make me and my friends feel. The way you make my black friends feel is empowering. You make them stand up for themselves and I love you and I always have."

Tearful Beyonce replied Adele, mouthing "I love you, thank you."

Adele also praised her producer Greg Kurstin and her longtime manager, Jonathan Dickins, giving him credit for her award but one person she was not willing to praise though was her father. While thanking manager Jonathan Dickins, she used the opportunity to slam her father.

The singer said of Dickins; "because the comeback, as it were, was completely masterminded by him. And you executed it incredibly, and I owe you everything.

"We've been together for 10 years, and I love you like you're my dad," she added, before taking a dig at her own father. "I love you so, so much. I love my dad, that's the thing. That doesn't mean a lot. I love you like I would love my dad.”

Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/02/10/vp-yemi-osinbajo-condemns-social-media-campaign-bring-back-corruption/

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, condemned the social media campaigns by some Nigerians to bring back corruption. Some Nigerians started the campaign on social media believing that the hardship that is currently being experienced would be a thing of the past if corruption is brought back. Osinbajo condemned the campaign when he received members of the organized labor that staged a protest to the state house Abuja.

“Every time you fight corruption the way we are trying to fight corruption, there is a major fight back, because corruption in this country is wealthy, powerful, influential and it is in every aspect of our lives. It is in practically all institutions including religious institutions. The social media campaign of bring back corruption is an orchestrated one. Nobody that is suffering can say bring back corruption. Attempts by those who are being tried for corruption to delay trials are also part of the orchestrated campaign. If we don’t speak up against corrupt officials, who make it look as if there is a witch-hunt, then we will not succeed in the fight. Government needs everybody to speak up. We have a serious battle in our hands and if we don’t win that battle, this country will never get to the path of sustainable development. The major problem that this country has suffered so far is the looting of its resources. We must fight corruption hard. It is a tough one, but we must fight it.”he said

PoliticsDeclassified CIA File Shows Ojukwu Never Had Respect For Gowon by lagosmp3(op): 10:18am On Feb 07, 2017
Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/02/07/declassified-cia-file-shows-ojukwu-never-respect-gowon/

Recently declassified CIA file of 1970, has revealed that General Odimegwu Ojukwu had no respect for General Yakubu Gowon, before and after the Nigerian civil war.

Just after the civil war ended, Nigeria was saddled with the daunting task of rebuilding. Issues of trust and respect were not unconnected to the problems that would impede the progress of rebuilding the nation.

The CIA file further reveals that Ojukwu was still waxing strong from his base while on exile, and though the people still loved and respected him, there was not a likelihood that they would go fighting in his command again.
Every attempt was made at ensuring that those who by the war had been estranged, were bought back into the fold again, but the pace was really slow.

To further ensure that the powers within the east and other major tribes are broken down, the FMG as led by Gowon decreed the disintegration of the four major administrative blocks, into 12 states.

The CIA file further revealed the possibility of creating more states within the Western region where Obafemi Awolowo hails from, however, all these were not enough to settle the issues of Nigeria as of the time, as Gowon was still saddled with the thorny responsibility of obtaining a permanent formula for the distribution of federal revenue.

be in the nearest Internet cafe!

11. They will gift you things or gift which you can show off to the world. How about the Latest IPhone 6? This is rather good compared to gifts you hide like Sexy Looking “Undies”.

Celebrities‘kcee Approached Me On Knees To Help Salvage His Career’ – Harrysong by lagosmp3(op): 3:43pm On Jan 30, 2017
Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/01/30/kcee-approached-bended-knees-help-salvage-dying-career-harrysong/

On 27th of January, DMG revealed that that the battle between Harrysong and his estranged label, Five Star Music, which is owned by Kcee and his brother, E-money, had escalated. He was reportedly arrested by Policemen on counts relating to breach of contract, fraud among other issues.

Five Star Music later released a statement explaining why Harrysong was arrested.
Harrysong’s new record label, Altar Plate has now released their own statement signed by their senior partner, Desmond Ike Chima. They claim Kcee approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career,

how the Police, who invited not arrested him, dismissed the charges and recommended that Five star music file a suit in a civil court. The statement also confirmed that the singer would not be returning back to his estranged label. Read after the cut.
“It was 8 am and Policemen acting on the instruction of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Onikan, stormed our hotel room to invite Harrysong over for questioning.

As a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, we got dressed up and set out for the AIGs office and on getting there we were greeted by the presence of a haggard looking young man in cheap pair of suit, identified as Five Star Music lawyer.

“His awfully shallow reasoning became so evident when he was called up to defend the petition he prepared on behalf of his client (Five Star Music). He suffered a hard time convincing the AIG and his men, including a visiting Commissioner, why the charges against Harrysong were criminal rather than civil.

“Even before any member of our camp could voice a word, the visiting commissioner ( from the way he sounded, a very learned and experienced officer) frowned at the concocted charges and recommended that they dropped the petition and rather file a suit in a civil court instead of bringing the Police into the picture.

“In view of the lies peddled on some social media platforms, I wish to state here clearly that, 1) Harrysong was never whisked away by some mobile police officers to an unknown location; 2) It wasn’t an arrest but an invitation by the AIG, a high ranking police officer, which he honoured. 3) A supposed breach of contract as captured in their petition is a civil and not a criminal case.

“On the other hand, as against the kangaroo statement released by Five Star music earlier today, I wish to also state that Harrysong did not at any time approach anyone or company to sign him; it was rather the other way round.

“Kcee approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career after he fell out with his then partner. As much as Harrysong loved to help him out in that time of need, it is worthy of note that,

1. He (Kcee) was talentless and knows next to nothing about music.

2. Harrysong had a running contract with Questionmark Records, but out of desperation, Kcee and his Five Star Music were prepared to pay off Kelvin Luciano in their quest to have him (Harrysong) at all cost. It would be recalled that Harrysong succeeded in recreating Kcee’s sound, wrote and co-produced his first meaningful single, ‘Had it been I know’, followed by ‘Okpekete’, ‘Limpopo’, ‘Pull Over’ and other songs that defined the Kcee that everyone now knows and celebrates today, all pro bono.

For what it’s worth, Harrysong’s dealing with Five Star Music was with the clause that he would be left to pursue his career whenever he deemed it fit.

As the case may be, we are not surprised at the turn out of things and why Kcee-led Five Star Music has chosen the way of reproach rather than that of honour. The earlier they wake up to the reality that Harrysong had long dumped them in a trash bin and moved on, the better for them, ‘cos’ I can tell you for free, he is not coming back. And to our fans and the general public, I wish to apologize on their behalf and to leave you with these words, ‘Kcee is confused and as such frustrated and we can understand’.

For the records, Alterplate has come to stay and you are free to do business with Harrysong and Alterplate Management, we are indeed the real deal.

– Desmond Ike-Chima for Harrysong

Celebrities‘rap Is Dead’ In Nigeria – Terry Tha Rapman Supports Yung6ix by lagosmp3(op): 3:26pm On Jan 30, 2017
Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/01/30/rap-dead-nigeria-terry-tha-rapman-supports-yung6ix/

Earlier today, rapper Yung6ix expressed his frustration with Nigerian rap music with a tweet that reads, ‘When I wanna listen to African rap I play Yung6ix and SA rappers wtf is going on with the Nigerian Rappers ? Wake up’.

Apparently he’s not alone in his line of thoughts. LIB reached out to other Nigerian rappers to comment on the issue and our first response came from a veteran in the industry, Terry Tha Rapman who says,

‘I kinda get where he’s coming from. I’ve been stressing this for long, when I said ‘rap is dead ’ in Nigeria I didn’t mean nobody is rapping. I meant we (being the fans, media and promoters) stopped supporting rap music as it should be at a point’.
He continued to say, ‘Now would you blame rappers for fine tuning their style? Rappers hardly get the airplay/support as our pop counterparts so after years we started adapting. I still believe there’s hope. We are far from the days of Trybesmen, 2shotz, Ruggedman, Modenine and when MI dropped Talk About It and MI2. We need more rap concerts to promote hip-hop culture. The few ones I’ve been to were not encouraging’.

CelebritiesBovi Remembers His Late Mum by lagosmp3(op): 2:26pm On Jan 25, 2017
Source: http://lagosmp3.com/2017/01/25/bovi-remembers-late-mum/

Exactly a year ago today, Margaret Ugboma, mother of comedian Bovi journeyed to the land of no return at the age of 58.
He took to Instagram to share the emotional story on when she died below.

“Bovi o! It’s mummy o! She’s not breathing o”! Those where the first words that hit me when I picked up the phone call. It was 7pm, jan 25th 2016. I was parked outside the palms, patiently waiting for my movie time before making my way into the building. But how was this possible? I spoke to her exactly an hour ago and I assured her I would check on her that same evening again. Now a female voice driven by hysteria was telling me the worst with the only euphemism she could conjure. I asked who else was there. She said uncle Eric. Finally!! Uncle Eric has always been there for my mum. Her go-to guy and Mr. Fix it. With uncle Eric, nothing was ever broken. But when he got on the phone, he was broken. It was the first time I heard a strong man cry. That’s when I froze. I was in shock. She had just left me 24 hours earlier. I drove her to the airport. “Bovi I don’t want to miss my flight”, she had queried. I told her it was a Sunday. “The road is clear. Let’s cruise”! It was our last of many voyages. Just before she got into the arrival terminal I asked her to pose for a picture. I posted it on snapchat and captioned it “momma pls don’t go”. How ironic. The story is too tragic to tell, too long to narrate. I became emotionally frigid. Me and my siblings have just one great regret. We never had the chance to pay her back! The memories came gushing as I drove back home to face my new reality; I remembered the first gift she gave me with a written message. It was an album. I was seven. I remembered how she took me to write my common entrance exam. As I walked out the hall, there she stood at the end of the hallway waiting with a lucid smile. She whispered to me “I know you did well”. I was ten. I remembered all the visits in boarding house. Staring at the gate of the school, it was only a matter of time before she drove in. She never disappointed. With love she would say, “you’re the first fruit of my womb. I baptized you myself”. A good woman died!By 2pm of the 26th I stood before her body. Even in death, I could feel her warmth. Even in its stiffness I could feel her tenderness. There she lay, forever irreplaceable!!”

Popular singer, Temitope Adekunle , aka Small Doctor, speaks on his career, relationship with Pasuma and other issues

How was growing up like for you?
I was born in Kaduna, but I was brought to
Lagos at a tender age. I lived at Dopemu, Lagos, and attended primary and secondary schools at Agege. Growing up was not really rosy for me.

Why did you leave Kaduna?
My family and I witnessed a massacre where people’s throats were slit. It was a very traumatic experience for us, and we had to relocate to Lagos.

When did you start nursing the ambition of becoming an artiste?
I have been singing since I was a child, but I sang mostly gospel songs. I only sang in the bathroom and around the house. I never thought of becoming an artiste, but my mother always told me that I would become one. I never knew what she saw but she is a singer, and a part of the church choir. I also have an elder brother that sings. However, I took it professional when I began senior secondary school in 2001.

You always say ‘Omo Iya teacher (son of a teacher)’ in your songs; is your mum a teacher?
Yes, she is a teacher. She owns a school.
One would have thought that as a proprietress, she would have wanted you to do a more ‘serious’ job like Law or Medicine…
I wanted to become an aeronautic engineer when I was a kid, and my parents supported my ambition. But what I am doing now has been ordained by God and no one can do anything about it. Good parents do not decide for their children; they would only support them in whatever they do as long as they are on the right path. My sister is a very learned person and she holds a high postion where she works, but we must not all follow the same path.

What were your early experiences in the music industry?
It was tough when I started, and I know it is never easy for musicians at the beginning except they are from wealthy homes. I was born into an average family and there are some things you have to do on your own. However, I will always appreciate Pennywise, the producer who recorded my first song almost free of charge. He really believed in me. I also had to do a lot of petty jobs to pay for studio sessions back then.

How did the name Small Doctor come about?
It was given to me by elder brother. While growing up, there was a TV series I loved so much titled ‘Dr. Who.’ Many times, I would forgo other things to watch it, so one day my brother said since I love Dr. Who so much, and I have a small stature, he would start calling me Doctor Small. Later on, I changed it to Small Doctor, because it sounds better and fans are able to relate to it.

How did you meet Pasuma?
I met Pasuma along the line, and ever since we met, he has been supportive of everything I do.

How exactly did you meet him?
I really cannot say. When you meet some people who are very special to you, as time goes on, you may even forget how you met them. I will rather focus on how to make the relationship last long.

It is believed that you became popular after you met Pasuma?
Many things happen for particular reasons, and if certain steps are not taken, you wouldn’t meet certain people. If I did not discover myself, I am sure Pasuma wouldn’t have wished to associate with me. There is no film trick about that.
I have been doing songs since 2001, even before I met Pasuma. However, Pasuma featured on my song, Gbagaun Remix, which was already very popular in Agege, Lagos, where I reside. I was a celebrity in Agege because a lot of people knew and loved me back then; it is the people of Agege that really made Small Doctor. However, it was after that remix that my breakthrough happened. Pasuma is like a father to me; he is my confidant and motivator. He has contributed immensely to my career.

Why did Pasuma give you the name, Akeweje Oganla?
Students from a particular school usually pass the front of Pasuma’s house whenever they close from school. And whenever I am in Pasuma’s house, those kids would always come around to hail me. This prompted Pasuma to call me Akeweje (someone who brings kids together).

If Pasuma loves you so much, why hasn’t he signed you to his record label?
He has never talked about signing me, and I have never asked him for that either. I am not Pasuma’s artiste, I am just his son. There is a big difference between the two. I am presently signed to O.I.T Dynasty.

How many albums have you released?
I have two albums already. The first is titled Street Ambassador, and the second one is Omo Iya Teacher.

Some people also feel you do more of freestyle in your songs without passing any message; do you agree with that?
I have never written songs. I just go into the studio and say it as it comes. None of my hit songs was written. Artistes that I have worked with like Don Jazzy and Olamide know I don’t write lyrics, and I don’t think they have a problem with that. Anyone who says my songs do not pass messages should reflect on them again, and they will realise that there are messages in my songs. Some of those messages are passed with street slangs, and by telling stories. Commercial music is trending in Nigeria now, and everyone wants food on their table; you just have to make it unique.

How would you describe your style of music?
I do Fuji-pop, but I am a versatile artiste; I can do anything.

Have you ever been a Fuji artiste?
I have not, even though my music has elements of Fuji in it. But I also have RnB songs and other genres too. In fact, I call my music Akeweje -pop because it is unique; nobody sings like me.

Which audience is your music targeted at?
My music is made for the streets. If I tell them anything, they believe me, and I believe them as well.

Do you think you have what it takes to conquer the upscale market?
I don’t believe there is anything like a posh market; I have performed at so many concerts on the Island. Banks and other corporate organisations invite me for their events; I just put on my suit and go there.

At those places, the audience sing along with me so where is the posh coming from?
Where is the most unlikely place you’ve met fans of your music?

That was on the Island and outside Nigeria. I have been to so many countries to perform and the turn-out is usually overwhelming. You can imagine 5000 people coming to watch Small Doctor. Right now, there are a lot of requests for me to come and perform in many countries, but the timing has yet to be favourable.

The image people have of you is that you grew up on the streets, but with what you’ve said, you come from an average home, and your mum is even a teacher; did you intentionally cultivate that image?
I have been on the streets since when I was in secondary school. There are a lot of God’s promises on my life and they have to be fulfilled. I slept in Oshodi, Mushin and Lagos Island bus parks for many years. I have been a bus conductor, and a motorcycle ( okada) rider. I have also hawked sachet water, and worked in a polythene-making factory. I have spent more time on the streets than with my parents; and that makes me a full-blooded, factory-fitted street boy. But while hustling, I always had it at the back of my mind that I would pursue my music career.

Have you ever been looked down on by A-list artistes because of the kind of songs you sing?
It has never happened because they all want to associate with me and be relevant on the streets. They know I have a huge fan base, so they don’t joke with me.

You were recently on set with Toyin Abraham (Aimakhu), are you thinking of switching to movies?
Anything goes. I have a lot of requests from actresses asking me to feature in their movies, but I am constrained by time. Toyin is my very good friend, and she calls me a lot to greet me; we play together a lot. I acted as a musician in her movie.

You’ve been romantically linked with some actresses; which one of them are you dating?
I have never dated an actress. I do not date actresses and singers. I am a different person and I do my things differently. I look beyond beauty when it comes to relationships.

Do you have a baby mama somewhere we don’t know about?
I plan to get married someday, though I cannot say when. I do not have a baby mama, but if it happens that way, I will take it as it comes.

It was once reported that you were arrested for attempting to smuggle hard drugs out of the country; is there any truth to it?
I was on my way back from South Africa once, when an immigration officer called me and said he observed that I travel a lot. He interrogated me and also showed me petitions written against me by several people. Well, things like that are bound to happen, and when they saw that I was innocent, they let me go.

What’s the greatest lesson you’ve learnt in the entertainment industry?
I have learnt to be myself at all times.

How do you unwind?
I stay indoors listening to music. I search the Internet a lot and I listen to any kind of music that catches my interest. I am a fan of everybody doing good music.

Omotuyi who hails from Ondo state studied System Engineering while Bankole from Lagos state studied Cell Biology and Genetics.

It was learnt that both were members of Redeemed Campus Fellowship, (RCF)

In an interview with newsmen, the two girls revealed the secret behind their success.
According to Omotuyi, she got the inspiration to read from her father who she said reads all night.

She went ahead to disclose that she initially was not a brilliant student. But got the determination to work hard after so many failures.

On the social front, Omotuyi mentioned she never had a boyfriend as she understood that there is time for everything and spend most of her time with female friends and fellowship members and sometimes watch movies.

She said that she is currently waiting for her NYSC but if God permits, she will go for her master. She encourages students desiring her kind of achievement to go for it stating that any one can achieve it.

On her own part, Taiwo Bankole admitted that she didn't find it rosy as she failed UTME the first time and had to go for a diploma programme which later gained her admission into UNILAG.

According to her, she never knew that she could graduate with a first class but midway, she noticed that her GPA was sound enough and that was when she started aspiring to finish with a first class.

And she took the step by reading for 6
hours everyday.

Just like Omutoyi, Bankole also said she never had a boyfriend but mingled with female pals and casual male friends and also watch movies at times.

According to her, she would like to go for Masters in Genetics.

She further advised students to work hard and never lose focus.
