Hi Nairalanders. This is Lagtech-we started this thread on March 23rd and delivered services and products to many Nairalanders. The crash of Nairaland caused the loss of not only the thread-but my username. I had to re-register on Nairaland and as a 'newbie' I couldn’t create a thread in certain sections including the Computer section and the Tech Market-until today. We will waited for Nairaland's go ahead we got busy creating threads at these places: https://www.nairaland.com/1790688/super-eagles-insult-beyond-belief https://www.nairaland.com/1792582/revelations-us-embassy-lagos-experience OUR CONTACT INFO: Website: www.nairavault.com Lagos Phone: 08102743983 USA Phone: 009 1 612 251 2624 USA Roaming Phone (Flash and text only-No calls) 0805 9434 416 Email: lagtech2999@yahoo.com After making any Payment to us: please send an email with the subject ORDER and include the following details: Name, Phone Number, Amount Paid, What paid for. Or visit our office in Isolo-to pay. Email us for account details now-lagtech2999@yahoo.com 3) We buy the item and ship to you. If its craigslist-we get the item same day where possible-if ebay-depends on how fast the shipper ships your item. We ship every week through Sovereign Cargo Services. They have an office in Brooklyn Park,Minnesota, USA and Ikeja, Nigeria. Items arrive every Friday. Shipping time is usually 7 to 12 days. In some cases-could be longer. 4) For ebay items-We charge $30 per transaction -. We can help you too. And if what you want is to start your own business or grow it-then we can help you too. Beware of Scammers: Please do not pay money to anyone. All our contact details are on the front page of this thread-please contact us if in doubt. Also please dont post your email address here on this thread-thats how scammers target their victims. They will send you a fake email like from lagtech@418yahoo.com and ask you to pay. If you need any information-get our email address from the 1st page of this thread. Before you make any payment: Please Crosscheck Doublecheck TripleCheck 4timesCheck Scammers have no mercy. CraigsList Many Nairalanders have gotten items for cheap and even for free through us on Craigslist-but in recent weeks-the many pick up requests has made many frustrated- they want their item picked up and when we cant-it becomes frustrating. The limited hours in a day, the informality of Craigslist-where some sellers are just not serious makes picking up hard sometimes. As a resullt -we have employed a driver so that pick ups can be faster. We are testing this and if it works well-it will be permanent. Please note the following: 1) All pick ups are $30. If you are ordering multiple items at once-the 2nd item is $25-3rd item is $20-4th and other items $15. 2) We only deal with minneapolis.craigslist.org This area is known as the Twin Cities and includes the cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul (the capital of Minnesota) and the dozens of cities around these two cities. We charge the cost of petrol to pick up these items. Minneapolis–Saint Paul is the most populous urban area in the U.S. state of Minnesota, and is composed of 182 cities and townships built around the Mississippi, Minnesota and St. Croix rivers. The area is also nicknamed the Twin Cities for its two largest cities, Minneapolis, with the highest population, and Saint Paul, the state capital. It is a classic example of twin cities in the sense of geographical proximity. Its about 16483.07 km²- about as big as The Twin Cities area is as big as Lagos State all the way to Osun and Ondo State -so you can imagine the driving time for one pick up. FACTS ABOUT THE STATE OF MINNESOTA 1) The state is about a quarter the size of Nigeria. Minnesota is 225,181 km² - while Nigeria is 923,768 km². Craigslist Petrol Charges. We only deal with minneapolis.craigslist.org. This covers an area bigger than Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Oshun states. Each time we pick up for you-there is the cost of petrol to these cities besides the applicable commission. Under minnespolis.craigslist.org there are 6 counties. We live in Hennepin County which is the largest. Hennepin county inlcudes many cities and is half the size of Lagos State. The counties with some of the cities and petrol costs are: Hennepin County Anoka/Chisago/Isanti County Wright Washington Dakota/Scott Carver/Sherburne/Wright Some Cities and Petrol Costs $3 Champlin $5 Brooklyn Park $7 Anoka Brooklyn Center $10 Maple Grove North Minneapolis Mounds View Fridley Columbia Heights New Brighton $15 Downtown Minneapolis South Minneapolis White Bear Lake St.Paul $20 North St.Paul South St.Paul Maplewood $25 and up ST.Cloud Bordering cities in the State of Wisconsin like Hudson St. Cloud-$30 Rochester (only by special request) $50 SHIPPING We have succesfully shipped going to a thousand items for nairalanders in the last 2 months. In several instances-we have had some clients frustrated with the speed of shipping. There are several forms of shipping. 1) Our recommended shipper-Sovereign Cargo- Charge is $5 per pound. Whatever your item weighs multipled by $5. 1 pound is 0.5 kg We ship every Wednesday and it is available for our pick up after going through pick up earliest the following week Saturday (11 days). In some instances it extends to the following weekend (thats almost 20 days). We have used our shippers-SC-for over 3 years and they have been wonderful. With them -you can be best assured- -No theft -No customs duties -No asking for extra money after shipping -No sudden increase in fees There are only two updates for this shipping: 1) The day it ships we tell you. 2) After it lands-and clears Customs-shippers contact our Lagos people and we update you to pick up. Please check our website www.nairavault.com/shipupdates.htm to track your shipment. By this method-you have the following options to get your item: 1) Have the items sent to you directly so that you pick up your self from Compact Logistics int'l ltd, 4 ileshomi str by afijalo roundabt mafoluku, oshodi-very close to the airport. 2) Have our man pick up your items as is our practice. If this is your choice-you have the following choices: a) Meet him at the Compact Logistics-usually 11am on a Monday. b) Meet him at his Isolo office-ANY ITEM NOT PICKED UP THAT MONDAY ATTRACTS A SURCHAGE as there is the added cost of transporting to Isolo. c) Have a Transporter shipped to your location. There are many options. You can either contact Jimmy -08102743983 to handle this for you or check for the many transporters that offer services on Nairaland. OR If the item is addressed to you Directly your transporter can pick up from Compact Logistics directly. OTHER PLACES Aside from Craigslist and Ebay -there are many places you can also buy from. liquadation.com is one place. There are many others. |
icebeatz: IS IT THE US EMBASSY IN LAGOS??Bros- 1)As of April 2nd 2014-all the interviews were done in 1 big hall. The non immigrant were behind and to left. The immigrant were infront and 1 cubicle to my left. I could even hear people at the far end of the hall. And it was the same thing in March 2007 as well-the one time I was there previously. 2)You only use the phone system to talk to the interviewer if you are asked to. 3) When it was my time I was not asked to pick up the phone. Pick up the phone when you are not asked to....bro that could be trouble for you. 4) I have no idea what the Bio-metrics issue has to do with it. 5) Several people on this thread have also commented about what they heard other people say in the interview Hall-so MAYBE -you likely went to 1 US Embassy and WE went to another. 6) Crap belongs to the Bathroom/Toilet sir. 7) Bullshit is for male cattle. |
BarryX: As for the non-immigrant Visas. Is the Marriage thingy compulsory ?Non immigrant? Marriage as in how? Do you mean marriage as evidence of a binding tie to Nigeria? |
Dreal1247: The truth remains that Nigerians most of the times fail to realise the fact that one of the easiest place to succeed in life is Nigeria. Some people are doing the menial job that they cant do in Nigeria abroad. Yet they cant even make ends meet.I agree and I disagree. Generally if you succeed in Place A -you can succeed in Place B. Success principles are universal. But geography, location and type of environment also affect levels of 'success". There are Americans all over the world-it doesn't mean that they hate America. And there are Nigerians all over the world too-it doesn't mean that they hate Nigeria. I have been in America for several years-and I haven't met any Nigerian doing any job they wouldn't do in Nigeria. There might be some-but I haven't met any of them. There is no shame in labor. As long as your work is honest-than you can be proud of it. And if there are some jobs that can be considered 'menial or low' it seems better to do it in a foreign land where you are guest and tenant than in your own land where you are a landlord. Many Nigerians are making it in Nigeria and many Nigerians are making it in America!!! Wherever you are-work hard, work smart, make your family and country proud-let the child you were be proud of the person YOU HAVE become and enjoy God's Earth! |
I was at the US Embassy in Lagos whilst on a visit to Nigeria recently. Whilst waiting for my appointment-I watched as people were attended to: Visiting Visas Work Visas Immigration Visas For some it was joy, for others it was unbelievable sorrow. I saw grown men weeping and begging and people celebrating for joy. I noticed the many mistakes people made at the embassy. The way the interview hall is designed -there is little privacy-as you can see and hear what people say to their interviewers. Case 1: A lady claiming to be a civil servant with the Lagos State Government was asked repeatedly her income and job specification. From what I could gather-this woman was a cleaner/sweeper with the LASG -but had a good side business. But knowing that her salary as a civil servant couldn't possibly foot her travel bills-she kept on avoiding a straight answer to the question. After the initial answer of "I am a sweeper" she kept on trying to explain that she had a side business and was a business woman -even though the interviewer had not asked here anything concerning this. She was denied. Lesson: Answer the questions you are asked. Be precise to the point. The interviewer would likely have asked here later on how she intended to foot the travel bill with her salary. Then she could have mentioned her business and provided evidence. Not before she was asked. Case 2: Someone apply for a Visiting Visa was asked time after time-why he chose to go to a particular city in America (I think it was in the State of Georgia or Utah-I cant remember) and they kept on rambling and stammering. If I was visiting Nigeria from the USA and was not born in Nigeria-and decided to go to Abeokuta: there could be many reasons why: -Maybe I have friends there -Maybe I want to visit Olumo Rock -Maybe because its close to Lagos-but much cheaper than Lagos -Maybe my friends have gone there before There has to be valid reason why you choose a destination. It defys logic if you cant easily and swiftly in one sentence say why you picked your destination. Case 3: A woman who was applying to join her Husband overseas-was asked repeatedly: How often does your Husband come to visit you. I don't know if it was tension or something else-but the lady kept rambling. The question was simple: " How often does your husband visit you" And she kept on telling stories. The interviewer even at one point tried to help her-by asking: "Is it every month or every year?" And this lady couldn't get herself together. I think she was denied. Case 4: Couples who came to be interviewed-not sure if for Visa lottery or some other immigrant Visa were separated after the first few questions. They asked one guy-where did you meet your wife? Wow! How can a man or woman not know where they met their partner. Even after 80 year of marriage-couples know where they met. My bros could not answer. The interviewer reached the assumption that it was a sham marriage and cancelled the visa that I think was in the last stage as they had previously visited the embassy. I felt so bad when the guy started saying : "I beg you in the name of God" You cant beg oyinbo people like that o. As soon as they give a decision -its done. To change it could even mean they loose their jobs. Case 5: An elderly woman came with a child -saying that the child (about 3 years I think) had been adopted by her relative in the USA. The interviewer just brought out a copy of Punch newspapers and showed an article that had exposed that particular orphanage as a criminal enterprise which the Lagos Sate Government had shut down. Case 6: A guy brought a lady saying that she was his wife. The interviewer then asked the lady to face a camera and declared that the Embassy face recognition software clearly showed that the photograph on the initial application was not that of the person standing in front of her.Almost in tears -she tried to explain that she had grown weight or something. She was denied and his visa was cancelled I think for fraud. And all this was in less than 3 hours. In fact there were so many more. Advice: Answer questions directly. Don't tell stories. The interviewers don't hate you or even know you. They also don't like you. You are just another number on a list of interviews they have to conduct to earn their pay check. Be cool, be calm, be collected. I remember one young Embassy staff-denying a man and the man kept begging. The interviewer with no emotion kept repeating: The interview is over sir. Your Visa request has been denied. Bla bla bla bla. Non Immigrant Visa The Embassy assumes that EVERYONE coming for any kind of Visa has no intention of returning to Nigeria. They want evidence that you will come back. Something that will show that you will come back. Immigrant Visa While filing your forms-don't lie, don't embellish. Just say the truth and put your records in order. And if for some reason-you are denied-its not the end of the world. Just turn the disappointment into a blessing. God bless Nigeria. God bless America. |

darqly: Erm, Ahmed Musa scored both goals for us- saying he played as good as Messi is abit of an exaggeration..On Wednesday sir-he did play as good if not better than Messi. In the past I cant say that. In the future-I dont know. |
davidif: Respect is earned bro. Not given. You think this is naija where everybody just defers to you? If the African teams want respect they have to earn it. The only African team that deserves a little bit of respect is Algeria who made it to the second round who did not require an awful and egregious call by the ref to make it to the second round."egregious call by the ref to make it to the second round" Hmmmm brosssssssss. We won that game fair and square!!! |
When Finidi and Kanu were at Ajax-Finidi was by ALL standards the best right winger in the WHOLE world (Number 7) leading Ajax to win 3 Dutch leagues in a row, two Champions cups in a row and the 1995 World Club Cup-Rashidi Yekini was the highest goal scorer in Europe 1993/1994;the wonders that Okocha did in Germany including probably the craziest goal in Bundesliga history - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUPiMFHbbFU. The list is endless. Yet the African player has to do the impossible to be recognized. Our time will come. Infact maybe it has come. Algeria & Nigeria...please do something and take this shame away! |
