charleymed: It's a thing of choice bro, not everyone wants to leave Nigeria, so don't speak for everybody cos some people really don't bye the idea. To your question, i think it does'nt require just HARDWORK but knowing the possible ways to getting an interview for a residency spot, and if you read lomaxx's previous posts on this, by now you should have a first hand knowledge of what is required of you. Beleive me, your step scores is very important but it alone WON'T get you into residency. So i advice you do more researchs on it and decide if you really want to give it a shot, mind you the procedures are quite cumbersome but it all depends on your willingness.#peace

Please can the mods move it to front page when i upload pics, so that other nairalanders can benefit from this

Also, the original note usually has a bar where 1000 naira is written at the back, but is absent on the counterfeit

Nairaland General › How To Detect A Fake One Thousand Naira Note by Lagusta(op):
Hello everyone!!!

I want to alert the general public that there are counterfeit 1000 naira notes in circulation, I got hold of one today, studied it with an original and here are my findings......

1. There is no CBN thread on the counterfeit..... which you see when held against light. What you see is a broken line that has CBN on it.

2. The image seen when the fake is held against light is blurred, dull and is displaced to one side.

3. No watermark seen under ultraviolet light....

Please be vigilant!!!

dominique: You don't see anything wrong with eating in a place full of germs? Everytime you flush, specks of fecal matter (containing a wide variety of bacteria is dispersed) into the air which lingers hours after doing the deed. Imagine all the shiit and germs that person is consuming in his food right now (tufia!). I won't even recommend talking in the in the bathroom not to talk of eating ayama.

Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Lagusta(op): 8:29am On Nov 17, 2013
lomaxx: There's no money in Nigerian medical practice. The change is just enough to be comfortable.

I also do not believe that because you are saving lives, then it's a license to suffer. All over the world, doctors are earning very well and are still saving lives conveniently. The Nigerian case is very saddening. That's why we will always have brain drain, and people will always leave to climes where it is understood that saving lives is not synchronous with suffering.

Whether you did medicine for money, passion to save lives, or for fame, you will come to understand that the practice of medicine is all about principles. A doctor who's in for the money or fame but understands the principles of the practice is more relevant to the patient and will save more lives than one who is a just ''passionate to save lives'' but doesn't have a thorough drill of the profession. Doesn't matter what your intent is - just be sure you know what to do when the time is ripe.
Guy, what u're calling "change" some people are begging to earn a tenth of it......

Imagine a fresh graduate doc earning that amount, while some bankers old enough to be their dads earn half of it...

And Yes, it's all about principles, but they still ultimately lead to a patient's well-being.... that's our goal, isn't it?? ??

Tobbie9: And why don't u like mentioning it?
because people would want to go for medicine for the money, not for the passion to save lives.....

One of my former colleagues was withdrawn because of this....

What people erroneously call staph infection is actually the secondary or tertiary stage of syphilis. Which needs strong antibiotics to cure....
