You dey mess with a wrong guy. When one candidate who loss in the election off late went back to the community he donated transformer to and removed it because those people didn't vote for him?
How many people have been gunned down due to political issue in SA even before the election?
SA is on the verge of collapsing as a nation. The video below, I have watched nothing less than 5 similar narratives from different sources. Do you know more than those people?
You saved £5000 in a year in UK and you say you have made it?
Money that will not pay for 5months of Nanny care if you have kids.
Meanwhile N500k that is not even the equivalent of the pound amount, will pay for nanny care for 8months.
Whatever you have saved in US or UK, is for later expenditure where you are. Stop comparing it to what a Nigerian saved for later expenditure in Nigeria.
As you do not earn the same, you do not save the same, and you will never later consume the savings the same.
They are 2 separate economies, and they do not meet at the point of savings expenditure.
Education is free in the UK. Na so Una Dey spew wetin una no sabi. Alternatively, bring your mum to baby sit for you. Visit visa is easy to get in UK.
StOla: God forbid the day I will abandon a well paying Nigerian job just because I want to put on winter jacket in UK while my face is unhappy and my health is terribly under stress.
I do not mind doing it for a job or immigration to the USA where opportunities abound for even the very 1st generation of the immigrant family, but UK is a big NO.
The majority of Nigerians who have been in the UK since the early 1980s, they have not made it till today. Their children have not made it too.
The wise 3rd generation have embraced sport and entertainment, so that the curse of the UK will not happen to the 3rd generation of the family.
If you go to the UK, you are going there to suffer so that maybe your 3rd generation family can finally live wealthy.
Keep quiet.
I will show you 50 people not even from 1980s they are well established , not to mention people now. May be na Una family the curse Dey don’t generalize.
If u like go America if u don’t work u won’t pick money from ground.
emkz: Rufai claims there were 57 active businesses that were impacted. Since he is now the mouthpiece of those businesses, can he list them?
As far as September 2023, talks began with HiTech on the project, where was Rufai Oseni? Why didn't he raise the alarm then, WHY NOW?
While raising the question about Landmark properties and alignment, Rufai Oseni refused to admit whether Landmark violated the right of way. He also did not state whether Landmark illegally utilized the asset in question. He also did not address the fact that only a marginal portion of Landmark was affected.
When the initial propaganda failed, they shifted to EIA and EISA. The Ministry of Environment already said they issued a waiver. But Rufai Oseni, who requested access to the audited books of someone's private enterprise, is not satisfied.
He also claims the owner of HiTech is Tinubu's personal friend. Does he want us to discuss his boss' personal friends and associates? Did they not give media protection to Emefiele, Okowa, PDP and Atiku? If they didn't, why were they hell bent on humiliating Tinubu with their boss even writing to accuse Tinubu of Noriega moment. If there was no personal or business interest for them, why did they take it so personal?
Then they accused the minister of staying in Eko Hotel and Suites; what has that got to do with anything?
On the surface, Rufai Oseni and Arise News have serious questions; but the questions are not balanced, because they have not asked Landmark questions. They have clearly taken a side and they are fighting for either personal or business interests. Yesterday, it became clear when they interviewed a former Commissioner of Police. The conversation was accusatory and not intermediatory. Answers provided by the government are never acceptable to them, but they believe everything the Landmark CEO says.
Rufai Oseni, you claim to fact check everything. Please fact-check whether Landmark rightfully owned that land and whether he was cleared to build there.
One more point to make: you claim there was no stakeholder engagement before demolition. David Umahi sat down in your studio to say that he met with the CEO of Landmark and that they adjusted their plans to spare his properties. You also asked why properties not previously marked for demolition and outside the right of way were demolished. As a journalist, you ought to be aware that notices of demolition were sent to all affected parties and they complied.
How come only Landmark is complaining?
What is Arise News/Rufai Oseni's personal/business interest here?
PS: When a former editor and a firmer executive director of PUNCH newspapers had a fight over one of them allegedly collecting millions of naira from corrupt politicians and businessmen to give them positive press coverage and kill negative stories, both of them were forced out of the media house. It became clear that some journalists used the media to promote personal and business interests. So if you see any media house seemingly pursuing or protecting someone's business interest, even at the expense of the public good, money is involved.
How come Channels TV, NTA, TVC or AIT are not fighting or protecting any interests? Why certain journalists from certain media houses?
Rufai Oseni asked to see the account statements of someone's private business. Can Rufai Oseni publish his own account statements so we are convinced he did not receive a PR contract to use his platform to demarket the coastal road project
emkz: These are just temporary measures and are bound to fail. The forex market in Nigeria is like a hydra-headed snake. Cut one head; as you face another head, the first head will grow back. Cut the damn neck! In other words, let the CBN address the root of the problem instead of pretending they don't know.
Since last week, dollars injected into the forex market are mopped up.
Who exactly are those mopping up the forex?
What economic activity is tied to the raid of the forex?
Ribadu claims the activities of speculators are responsible for the hike in dollar rates.
My question to Ribadu is: why are the speculators not afraid of the government?
For many years, bank MDs have been accused of buying forex from CBN and the forex goes into the black market through back channels, for example, there are vulturistic abokis sitting in banking halls trying to buy off dollars from customers.
Who regulates those abokis?
If the $10billion the vice president said would come into the system enters, it would be evacuated by the same speculators which would not solve the problem.
My observation is that CBN has lost complete control of the forex market and are being regulated by the BDCs and population instead of CBN being in control. All over the world, forex trading is heavily regulated by governments through central banks.
What I also observed is that the dollars are mopped up by those who don't need them but are keeping them for a profit. Therefore, let CBN take complete control of the forex market through the following measures:
(1) Deregister all unlicensed BDCs. That market is heavily unregulated and until they are faced squarely by the authorities, the practice of the naira dying will not stop.
(2) Stop selling dollars to commercial banks as it is clear that they have failed in meeting their obligations to customers with the dollars. People who approach the banks for PTA/BTA and school fees are directed to the BDCs. Why do BDCs have dollars and banks don't? Even with banks, some people still approach the CBN to transfer their school fees. Infact, it was found that the banks had $5billion in their vaults. How come no one has been punished when these same banks created artificial scarcity to push people to BDCs?
(3) All banks should be compelled to show a statement of how they used the dollars they received from the CBN from the last two years. At least it would give us some ideas of what disappeared through the black market.
(4) CBN needs to carry out a tsunami on the banking industry. Use some bank MDs known for the forex fraud as examples by dismissing them for breaking the law.
(5) Once all these measures are taken, the CBN must protect all forex coming into the country to ensure the problems we currently have are not iterated.
In summary, CBN needs to take drastic measures to regulate the market.
There are other measures that can be taken to get the dollars from those who have stored them. Whether the CBN would have the will is something else. The Nigerian forex market is like those who pirate music.
noskcid: I cannot drag a child with anyone, if you want to eat him or her alive you are free. If I want to see my child I will see him or her, na the child go even Dey cry, I want to see my daddy 😂 Me wey get doings, na people go dey find us no be we!!!
BlackfyreRebell: Please advice me My ex husband and I are divorced 2 years ago. He recently acquired an European citizenship, he also wants to extend the citizenship to our son. Though I thought it a good idea but I can't shake the feeling that he is trying to use that to take him away from me. He told me our son will need to come over there to finish the process of his citizenship. But when I went to submit the "application" what I saw on it is different from what he told me. The paper read that I am consenting to my son to go and reunite with his father. Or is that the way they process it? Please those that have gone through same should please come to my aid, this is my only child and I can't afford to lose my child this way.
Sorry to say, u no get sense. Me and my wife still wrote consent letter to travel with our kids. Na the practice.
If you like no give consent, the boy go forever hate you.
Intergrated: Don't be selfish madam. Your son is also his son too let the boy have a good life.
You Dey mind all these baby mamas with entitlement mentality. Na the guy get time, he for just leave the boy and the mama make Dey continue their life.
In the future the boy go hate the mother for such a selfish decision in the name of trying to get back at his father.
A father is trying to guarantee a BETTER future for his kid and the only thing that crosses your mind is that he'd manipulate the kid against you?
Is that what you've been doing since the divorce?
You disgust me.
ALSO, the kid is still a MINOR. If you don't sign a consent form that states the kid is going to the European country to reunite with his father, what other explanation would you give for a 10-year old traveling across the ocean?
Realize this:
If you stop that kid from getting the citizenship of a country that works because of your own fear and insecurity, the kid will HATE you with an hatred that burns like a thousand suns when he becomes an adult.
