And it is not hard to see non smart versions of smart TV. Even if I buy smart TV today I still won’t use the smart feature, I would rather use my Android TV box on it. |

MeCool is actually good Infact I prefer it to my xiaomi cos of its 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. |

Who is thinking like a poor man here! It is only poor man who tries to buy unnecessary things to impress people. There are many quality TVs out there without the smart feature that are cheaper than the smart ones. Being smart doesn’t mean they have quality. Afterall, every jack and Jill are adding android feature to TV calling it ‘smart’ with high price tag. Getting an android tv box is the decision for me. |

Unhealthy competition is not also helping matter because of all these start ups getting free funds from investors to waste. Even in developed world, you can return items. The problem with Jumia is corrupt staff and management. |

IndexMode: I want to consider options of buying a smart TV or an ordinary TV with a larger screen size.
For example, buying a 50 inch smart TV or buying a 74 inch ordinary TV. The price would be similar.
I wonder what one is really missing from all the features usually listed out as part of a smart TV. I will like to review user experience, if it's really worth the price or a bigger screen size is the best bet.
Can you rather use AMAZON FIRE tv STICK or such extensions to enjoy some benefits of a smart TV? Smart TV is not worth it. Trust me. Get a good screen FHD TV and get quality android TV box (xiaomi or MeCool), Apple TV or Amazon, just make sure it’s not the stick type. Doing this will save you money and give you scalable features compared to smart TV. You will thank me later. |

Validated: One thing I advise though. If you have a house in Lagos, Abuja or PH, do not sell it. Atleast when you come back, you have a place to lay your head. That is if push goes to shove out there. Here will always be a place to lay your head and there will always be another better property to bid and acquire. Properly especially house for rent is not an worth an investment to leave behind. |

Mindlog: Classic example of displacement......The woman is releasing her life's frustration on the child who is weaker under the disguise of "discipline" .
We have some children of Nigerian parents who have been taken away by UK's social service and now living in care, away from their parents till further notice because their parents refused to unlearn that beating a child as if they are hitting animals is not disciplining. Taking them away only compounds their problem. Those kids ends up doing drugs and rely on government benefits. Bad parenting is really killing their good system. Even though beating is not totally the answer but can be moderated. I still make my kids do punishments for bad behavior. |

GEEBITE: You are so mannerles to be throwing insults at me for no reason.I don't know what's eating you up over my opinion even if you are a support worker. I know people doing support and care jobs and with my interaction with then it is a means to an end as nobody wants to build a career out of it.
Whether you want to admit it or not,it is a low skill job(20-24k p/a range) and the new migration salary cap has clearly delineated that. With that salary range and current economic reality, bringing a family over with that pay means it is a strain on the economy. Those doing support work came with their dependents to work. Your over sabi mentality wouldn’t let you know that. How is that a strain on the economy? I have not seen dependents not working here. Nigerians are not lazy anywhere you find them. |

GEEBITE: I believe so much in dignity of Labour. My late dad combined schooling and menial tasks while schooling abroad in the 60s and didn't bring my mum and our first born over till he graduated. Infact he travelled home once during that period. Actually care giver job should be for unmarried folks as it is a very demanding job in my opinion. It is for lack of options and economic migration that a married person will take up the job. Just like saying a fruit picker which is a seasonal job should bring family over. You need to come out of your shell and see beyond your shallow thinking. No Job is easy and abroad every minutes, seconds counts. Even at that you can choose time to work. The problem with our people is that we want to quickly recoup and start sending money home hence picking different shifts and jobs. I have seen people do support work and would tell you all they do is watch service user throughout the night. They still browse the internet and do all sorts of stuffs while at work. At NHS maximum days of working is 4 you have 3 days of rest. So, tell me is this not enough? |

You will always have a manageable or at most average lifestyle in where u are. While in Nigeria here, i am rich in the Nigerian system. Another shallow thinking. Check around mkat investment back home running into trillions is from diaspora. People don’t even work 24 hours yet they are doing great and employing indigenous people. I know many Nigerians making it big both abroad and home. Don’t worry we’ll come back and contest for a political post to rule you again and again. That is the circle. |

fullclub: my dream was that immediately I came over, i and my dependant will search for jobs.. work and pay bill. but that is not feasible as I am seeing it.
i started this process with 15 million naira then when naira nose dive i had to borrowed extra 15 million to top it with interest of almost 2 million naira. landed in uk, started seeing the reality on ground
i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy. in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.
school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.
no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.
travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.
Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.
it's not worth selling your home to be here.
i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.
all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities
after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai
if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.
edited with more info. You are doing it wrong. Don’t generalize your problem. I got here within a week I got jobs. Now I choose the one I like. I am about 3 months here. Go to church mix up with people talk to them about your problem and they will help you. Don’t be picky about jobs. The easiest jobs to get is in warehouse and it is going to keep paying ur bills. Though physically demanding but Ure not the only one doing it. Just get up and stop attracting pity from people that will compound ur problems instead of solve it. |
