Event20: Hi everyone, I need some advice. I'm traveling to the UK on a family reunion visa, will i experience any shortcomings if I use a one way ticket. Many thanks. According to UKVI website, you have permission to stay. 4. Family reunion Your partner or child can apply to join or stay with you in the UK if: you were separated when you were forced to leave your country you’ve been given asylum or 5 years’ humanitarian protection but don’t yet have British citizenship Your partner or child can’t apply if: you haven’t received a decision on your asylum application you’re under 18 If their application is successful, your family members will be allowed to come to or stay in the UK with the same permission (‘leave’) as you. Noting the last part, you have same permissions as the person you intend to stay with, so you can use a one way ticket. |

subomi2: Bruff, it's standard o, got mail on friday afternoon. I didn't even get mail that my supporting docs have been received even though hubby got confirmation from Royal Mail that it had been delivered, so you see , it's neither here nor there....I'm just trusting God for divine speed cos we aren't paying those school fees this September....so kids will be home till visa arrives and we can go.
I'm sure they are on it, we can only pray bruff. Oh..... Thanks for the response, our own supporting docs too was special delivery only confirmed by Royal mail with no response from UKVI as usual. Well, we can only pray and wait. |

joyevelyn: The ECO did not quote the number of days i filled to spend in the UK correctly and also stated that he is not satisfied with the sum of 1m plus in my account as this was the same reason i was refused initially even when my employment letter states over 5m annually Right of appeal was abolished in 2013 for Family visa( https://www.gov.uk/government/news/right-of-appeal-for-family-visit-visas-abolished) if that is what you applied for though there is a different thread for General UK Visa on Nairaland. You might need to re-apply while addressing all the ECO stated as reasons for your refusal. Refer to how your salary was paid into your account and how only a fraction of it was spent on household living expenses. Refer to Salary Statements of account if it is different to the Savings account you are using as proofs. If there are large deposits and out-payments from it, please refer to it and explain the reasons. While i was refused in 2010 based on misrepresentation for my first visa, though appeal was available but i opted for a re-application and went ahead to explain that the ECO used my wife's account to judge me while mine wasn't used. |

joyevelyn: Dear All,
Please i would like to know how to approach a refusal that was based on previous refusals as a result of bank statement. I find the refusal not genuine as the ECO did not take time to review my salary and appointment letter that included my annual salary and i think i should write for a review but i do not know how to go about it.
Please i need a guide
Thank you Try to state what type of visa you were refused before and the present one. Also state what the ECO stated in the letter of refusal. It will help whoever wants to offer and advice. |

teejay231: Hello guys, not directly visa related but I was wondering if anyone in this group has flown with Air Maroc or MedView? The online reviews for Air Maroc are not really great but Virgin and KLM ticket prices are ridiculous right now. Thanks. Please don't use Medview to the UK oooo! Tried it on my last trip to visit my wife, they delayed and we couldn't fly until 3 days later and they use old planes. Though they are cheap. I have been using KLM which is pretty cool via Schipol in Amsterdam. Vowed never to use Medview. |

House please I need your advice urgently, I have just submitted online yesterday waiting to do biometrics on Thursday but discovered I answered wrongly somewhere on 32 asking if I have been refused visa to which I have always been saying yes with proof of it and for past visas even in April this year until this last one. What can I do to remedy this as I cannot edit the form once submitted. Should I write a letter signed stating the mistake and putting the date of refusal? |

Travelled last year November on BA enroute to Phoenix, Arizona. Quite a long trip. All along I have been going to the UK and Dubai. Trip was to ABJ - LHR - PHL - PHX. Was like are we there yet? So pretty exhausted on arriving Philadelphia and i was the last person on the arrival queue. The following conversation ensued (first in the states) POE(A young guy) - Hi Me - Hello POE - Can I have your passport? I gave my passport POE - First time in states? Me - Me POE checking and looking at my passport, said it sure look like you. Me - replied Yes (Visibly exhausted) POE - Final destination Me - Phoenix Arizona POE - Arizona! Exclaimed as if no one goes there. Why Arizona? asked Me - Cousin stays there with his family. POE - Hmmmm........... Ok. I will like to make this pretty fast ad possible, it's Friday night. Do you have anything to declare like meat or so? Me - mumbled something like have some bags made of cow hide. POE thought I said cow meat so had to explain what I meant so he passed me on through the xtrays for my bags. And that is it. My cousin said he's pretty ready for Friday night so will not be ready to go through much stress. |

teejay231: She must include a letter from her employer which clearly states how long she has been employed, her contract duration, monthly income and any additional pay including overtime. Her 6 months bank statement and payslips must also match as they will be looking for her monthly pay going in and the last month must not be older than 28 days before application. If she doesn't include all of that, the application will be refused British or not. Only EU nationals are exempt from all of this. Lots of people have been refused for less. Appeals take up to 18 months or more. Thanks for the advice, she has gone ahead to get all that and I have stated that once the UK NARIC letter takes more than 2nd week in August before applying then she will have to include August Payslip. |

Lexusgs430: Infact, I would advice you to draw up a list of all required documents and tick the list off, after you have seen documentary proof of existence...... Thanks Lexusgs430, that is what I'm doing with her this evening. We are going through everything. She has gone ahead to get all the banks statements after I insisted telling her that she needs to hear stories from people who have been refused based on all these. Once again thanks. |
Travel › Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Lamakinde(m): 4:54pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
Lexusgs430: Your savings plays no part in this application, you are not submitting your bank statement for this application.
Is she a full time staff or agency? Full time, not agency. Ok, then I will leave my account off it. Thought it was required in the new changes. |
Travel › Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Lamakinde(m): 4:50pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
teejay231: I think you should include original documents wherever possible.
As per the financial requirements, you need to under which category your sponsor falls under. If she has been employed by the same employer for over 6 months, then you must include her pay slips and bank statement for the 6 months prior to your application and the last month no later than 28 days.
The August 10 changes will mostly focus on couples with children and some exceptional circumstances. I will advise that you include a 12 month bank statement for the applicant as well as a statement clarifying source of funds and any additional proof that funds do indeed belong to you. I will go ahead and include all original documents. As stated earlier, she works in same place since 2015 and have told her to get the payslips and statements of account which she says doesn't matter (been British), thinks all that is formality. I insisted saying we should put all rather than to be told why you are refused. Thanks I will do that. Just waiting for UK NARIC which delayed because they couldn't view my MOI(Mode of instruction from University registry) which I have to reload on getting notification after 10 days of payment and uploading of docs. Told to wait another 10 days. Thanks. |

Lexusgs430: The £15k savings plays no relevance in this application. If you had about £60K untouched for 6 months, then it would be a useful addition.
Do you have the P60 issued in 2017? Do you have bank statements with BACS payment and activities? Do you have 6 months bank statements? And is your yearly collective earnings above the stipulated figure? Are you employed/self employed or limited liability?
Is the £15K savings from applicant or sponsor? Thanks for the reply, the savings is from me as the applicant. My wife has got her P60 for 2016 and 2017 and she earn more than the 18600 personally without my own yearly earning which in addition to mine is much more. She has her printed six month's bank statements and also payslips. She works in an NHS hospital since 2015 and has letter to that effect from the HR. |

Lamakinde: Goodday all, am new to this forum. Am in the process of applying for the settlement spousal visa. Am just waiting for my UK NARIC English competence report. Will I have to add my original B.Sc. Cert or the true certified copy by the High Court along with the proficiency letter and the UK NARIC letter? I intend to apply in August once the Letter is out. Thanks as your advice will be appreciated. Also, on my spouse/wife's employment letter the salary is stated as well as the HCA (Home care allowance) which addition makes well above the minimum financial requirements. Is it alright? And with the recent August 10 changes, I have well over 15k pounds in personal savings. Can someone help to clarify this? Thanks Please yet to get any help on this. |
