Thanks. My route is through the spousal visa. The ILR requirements and eligibility for T2 formerly called Tier 2 visas are in that link below.

https://www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-tier-2-t2-skilled-worker-visa

Financial requirements when you can be paid less is as follows according to gov.uk site.
If you do not meet the usual salary requirements, and you do not work in healthcare or education, you might still be eligible if your annual salary will be at least £20,480. You must still be paid at least £10.10 per hour.

You do not have to be paid £25,600 if the main job you’re sponsored for:

is on the list of healthcare and education shortage occupations
is on the list of all other shortage occupations
was on one of these lists when you applied for your Skilled Worker or Tier 2 (General) visa
You also do not have to be paid £25,600 if you were sponsored for a Tier 2 (General) visa in one of the following occupation codes:

2111 Chemical scientists
2112 Biological scientists and biochemists
2113 Physical scientists
2114 Social and humanities scientists
2119 Natural and social science professionals not elsewhere classified
2150 Research and development managers
2311 Higher education teaching professionals

Congrats, good you got it sorted.

You are right about the borough and council differences. I was informed my council conducts group ceremonies once every 6 weeks😳

I eventually opted for a paid private citizenship ceremony. Happy to report, I had my ceremony today the 9th.
2 weeks 3 days from receipt of Naturalisation approval.

Passport application submitted, awaiting response.
Travel / Re: ILR Application (SET M) by Lamakinde(m): 3:50pm On Mar 07, 2023
I think it depends on the Borough as I have to choose a more popular Borough where I sue to live which is 30 minutes away from where I live now. Just call them to remind them. Hopefully they will have a date for you.

foxyvisa:
Hello house, It's being 1 week 4 days since I contacted my council for a date for my citizenship ceremony but i am still informed i have been added to a waiting list as there isn't any available dates.

They have confirmed being in possession of my paper work from home office.

Please has anyone experienced this delay in getting a date for their citizenship ceremony?

Thanks @Lamakinde. I must say I have been very fortunate with available dates I found for my application submission, biometric and approval response.

Hopefully, you get a shorter duration for your application response than I did. I wish you all the best. 👍

Congrats @Foxyvisa, am still waiting for my own. I submitted my citizenship application on the 20th of December 2022 but couldn't get biometric appointment until 18th of January 2023. So just made it barely a month from date of biometric.

Hi everyone, it's been a while. I have applied for my ILR set (M) last month with super priority (though left a deep hole in the pocket but tired of waiting), while booking biometric was a task as I couldn't get anywhere close by so I settled for another location after paying a fee

@Foxyvisa, I answered no to the national ID question, though I have the NIN slip but I don't want to complicate matters.
Biometric is on 18th Dec which is the earliest I could get.
I hope @Tayeby is here too.

Thanks Favourablyme for the response. Fortunately, my Nigerian passport arrived in time for me to update my application.

If you work in the Health care sector, please try to apply for your refund as long as you worked between March 2020 to October 2020. See caption below. You are eligible for 200 pounds and also able to claim another six months later.

Hi @lamakinde

Is it right to be charged 1560 for the IHS of the flr(m) visa?

The same website says that it’s 400 per year. And the flr(m) is for 2.5 (right?), so I expected that I would pay £1000, not this £1560 that I’m seeing.

Thanks, your employer can't tell you to stop work because your status remains the same as long as you apply before the expiry of your visa. It is wrong. All I was told is that if it is not out in six months then they will have to do another check with Homeoffice.

Congrats, dear!

Did your employer tell you to stop working when your visa expired?

Mine is telling me they don’t let me work until I get an outcome of my visa (a visa that I can’t even submit an application for until Nov 10 because it’s expiring Dec 10).

Ridiculous!

I have been sent the invite to use the ID App today which I have done and submitted. UKVI also sent me a letter giving me a ref for my FLRMdocuments in case I want to send letters to them about my documents.

Dear Sir or Madam

Re: My name, age (dd-Month-Year)

PLEASE QUOTE REF: 00000000 IN ANY CORRESPONDENCE.

Due to the volume of correspondence we may be unable to locate your application without this reference and your correspondence may be returned to you.

Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but, due to the worldwide response to COVID-19, UKVI services are limited and we are not able to meet our usual service standards.

Although we would normally decide your application within eight weeks from the date it was submitted, unfortunately this may not be possible in your case.

In line with Government advice on essential travel, social distancing and other restrictions related to COVID-19, for the safety of our customers and our staff, the UK Visa and Citizenship Application Service (UKVCAS) locations where you would ordinarily submit your biometric details and provide any documents for scanning that you have not already uploaded yourself, have been closed. Some centres are now opening with limited capacity so you may now be able to get an appointment – it is important you attend if an appointment is offered.

If your application was submitted prior to your current grant of leave expiring, your current status within the United Kingdom has been extended by section 3C of the Immigration Act 1971. You do not need to do anything else at this stage and do not need to be concerned about your immigration status.

If you have applied to switch your status in respect of your employment or studies then please refer to the guidance on Gov.UK as you should be permitted to commence work / study prior to your application being decided, should you meet the conditions set out in the guidance.

We apologise for the delay in dealing with your application and for the inconvenience this is causing. Please be assured we will do all we can to make a decision on your case as quickly as possible once your biometric details have been submitted.

We appreciate your patience at this time.

Kind regards.

Yours sincerely

I applied in July. They only sent me a mail asking to opt for an app as one of those selected to re-use my biometric. They said if I want to re-use then they will send an invite in the coming weeks. So, am still waiting after like three weeks now.

You will not see dates until they invite you. I believe those that applied in August will processed by 14th September.

@Bourne007, it is the same link ooo. Will 1st of all ask if you are in Uk. I picked yes. Then ask if there is any pending application that I am yet to get a decision which won't be considered if I continue with this new one, I picked no and it continues. Trying it now again and it took me through the right route. Thanks.

I actually did my thumb-printing at the police station here in London and they collected nothing. Only that i have book ahead of time. Only asked for my biometric card to be sure i am who i said i am. Then later i sent the document to Nigeria.

sgtponzihater1:

Boss pls explain the police clearance process to me. I called a police man who asked my wife to go to the local police station in the UK, then thumb print and scan that to him, then he can proceed. She got to the police station and they said it's 74 pounds and she ran away. What is the normal step?

You can try to get the sim through someone back home through proxy but majority of the providers don't do it anymore because of the fraud through the sim if linked to an account. Had similar case with First bank and GTB, was able to log in online to GTB but wasn't possible with First Bank. To cut the long story short, i finished all the money in GTB throughout the year while i couldn't access the First Bank with so much call and letters to my account officer. I was told i will have to come to Nigeria. I got to Nigeria in 10 months and cleared my account with the teller asking me to see the ABM in the process. I explained all the frustration throughout the year to him then my account officer called first thing next day asking if i am in the country?''JAMB QUESTION".
In my opinion, if you get the sim re-activated and sent to you then fine otherwise you might have to wait till you get to Nigeria. The risk with re-activating the sim in Nigeria is just the dangers of falling into the wrong hand because of your BVN linked to all your accounts.

sutelk:

Will try getting another SIM through someone back home. I just hope they will allow it.
I've tried the app on another phone but it requires me activating with a code sent as an SMS to my now damaged SIM card.
Thanks.

While this is ongoing, also file an appeal (so you don't lose that window)......

Also state in the formal letter, that you have lodged an appeal, against the original decision.....

Lexusgs430:

Best to send the letter and exercise a bit of patience, saving them over £2300........

When patience wears thin, the latter option can be considered. But I am so over confident that upon reconsideration, the initial decision would be overturned....
