Something happened to me back then which I don't really know the meaning not once , twice or so.
I was staying with my step mom after eating she step out around 7pm and I decided to relax, and immediately I slept off, she came back and was knocking the door, I could hear her knock bt could not stand up to open , I can't even move my body, I was struggling to wake up etc. I was hearing people calling my name to open the door . Finally when I woke up I saw lot of people downstair, someone was bringing ladder to come in through the balcony I felt embarrassed.
2 days after the same thing happened , after a banger was thrown in to kitchen I immediately stood up.

Some had happened bt in the midnight when no one can call me or whatsoever

Nurses in the house....I have a bit of a situation. My cousin is taking bsc nursing in the Philippines. We just found out the country doesnt register nor licence foreign students. Without the registration number she can't sit for Nclex.
Pls what options has she got? Can she go register with the nursing council in Nigeria?

That where possible
Schools of Nursing school should be absorbed by the University in the locality

That other schools that could not be absorbed by any University should be converted to Colleges of Nursing to award academic certificates

That having a professional qualification without academic qualification is the major problem of Nursing education which the Council intend to correct

That Nursing education cannot be operated outside the educational policy of Nigeria which is based on 6-3-3-4 system. There schools of Nursing are obsolete

That students admitted into colleges of Nursing shall spend a total of 4yrs as ND1,ND2,HND1,and HND2. RN examination shall be taken at HND 1 while RM or RPHN shall be at HND 2.
Thereafter, the graduate of the school shall go for IT(Clinical posting ) for one year before NYSC.

The graduates of College of Nursing shall hold RN, RM/RPHN and HND.

The graduates of University shall hold RN, RM, RPHN and BNSc

That if the Federal Government eventually resolved the dichotomy between HND and BSc then the two will then be at par.

Delusion is a psychiatric disorder characterized by false believe and perception which nurses must give their holistic approach to. My view and intervention are
1. Create a good nurse -pt r/ship to facilitate good care and trust

2. Let pt see that they are been deluded and what dey are assuming is real is totally fake by given examples bit do not argue with them cos they might be aggressive

3. Anxiety, anger and other antigen should be watched out for cos it promotes delusion , identify their anxiety symptoms and counsel them on way to avoid it

4. Family and Friends should stay to support them and bringing the real sense into them

5. Keep them busy and introduce sociality into them gradually by given occupational therapy approach

6. Drug regimen should be considered the basic as prescribed antipsychotics such as haloperidol should be administered correctly

I guess I could share my experience so far at the psychiatric unit. So I have only been there for three days and I love it. I was really excited about going to the psych unit but I got a little bit scared on my first day. I was super guarded and I didn't approach a lot of patients. Yesterday was probably the most exiting experience I've had so far. The atmosphere was different right from when I walked in. The patients were escalating and agitated. Even the one that usually says hi ignored me. As usual, I found myself in the middle of everything.

One of the patients got angry want wanted to go into the nursing station. The nursing station has small doors that can be locked from inside. I happened to be on the same side of the patient and I was dead scared. The patient started yelling and trying to break the door, requesting that the nurses open it for him. I literally started begging my friend to open the door and that I didn't want to be outside the nursing station. Now first of all, she doesn't know how to open the door and even if the does, the patient might enter. That puts her safety at risk. I started feeling sooo small and scared and I wanted to cry. I felt like I needed to leave the place. My heart started racing and my breaths were quick and shallow. So I told my other friend with me that we should completely leave the unit. We both left the unit until I was a bit calm. I took some deep breaths and went back in. When I think back now, I guess I felt the way I did because I was soo scared, I felt so small and like I was oozing fear and everyone could smell my fear. I also felt embarrassed because I was afraid but I guess that's normal.

After a while, the nurse I was following sort of noticed because I wouldn't leave the nursing station after that. He pulled me aside and took me to the activity room to talk to me. He told me it's okay to be afraid and even he does too but in the psych unit is a place where one has to hold his/her emotions. Yesterday was great. Even after everything it was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every bit of it especially becasue I got a chance to carry out some interventions on my care plan.

Can't wait to go back next week.

This is it , nursing is a science and not an act, most people think nursing is what you learn but instead its what you study. Sch of nursing makes this a reality by training nursing student in the science of nursing and helping individual holistically for a period of 3 calender yr. During this period the students are exposed to lots of things clinically and during there study block session and with these that are given a license from the nursing council, the board that direct the affair of nursing in the country.
Now the big problem is nurses are been ridiculed because of their study year by other team mates most esp the Drs, and they ( nurses ) are seen as an inferior participants based on their year of study
This leads to the cry for degree among nurses to meet up with the academic qualification of other professionals.
A Dr has a degree in medicine and surgery now a graduate nurse has a degree in nursing science (RN,RM and public health) instead of the only RN he had in his nursing sch
Nurses with RN are advuxed to top up their certificate to degree so.as to meet up with the current education standard of the profession
A nurse spent 5 years to get his degree with a yr internship making 6 , a Dr spent 6 urs with a yr housemanship marking 7

So the joy of nursing is to study and be a degree nurse and keep the nursing flag higher
