It's time we stop all this tales by the moonlight comparism.. You're so right man. Staying positively relevant should be the driving force. Like I remarked on this thread earlier. Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), got his SAN by correspondence. He is an economist. |

vfactor: . Really? This should be one reason why a polythecnic can't be better than a university.
The truth is that there is no competition between both institutions. On the other hand, they re complementary. In the engineering cadre for example, technicians work hand in hand with engineers. Engineers do designs and research while the technician does the actual construction, that is bringing the design to reality. That's why it seems they have more field experience. But when there is a complication that has to do with editing or updating a design, they revert to the engineer The polytechnic produces technicians, while university, engineers. A construction firm will normally employ a technician, while a consultancy firm would employ an engineer.
All these rivalry is just a result of silly complexes. To buttress your point. BSC Engineer HND Technologist OND Technician SSCE and BELOW Craftsmen and artisans. Just that the Engineer in Naija rarely designs. They are in the same category with the technologist, that implements designs. |

viickerz: some polytechnics are good.. but dont you ever compare polytechnics to universities.. if you have entered oau, UI. ABU,etc.. you will hate poly.
why do you think most polytechnics are filled with cultits..? especially kwara poly
someone close to me graduated from poly 5 years ago. belive me,she is still searching for a job till now..
the day i first entered unilorin, i promised myself never to go to a polytechnic in my life..
have you seen those law chicks in oau? the sight of their smart and beautiful faces will make you forget about all those mgbeke girls wey full our polytechnics Poor shot!!! Our national problems are not theoretical. They are practical and industrial. So, only Polytechnic graduates are jobless. you need laying of hands and legs. Polytechnics are great. The universities have more aesthetic features. Somehow, in Nigeria, university graduates feel like superheroes, even when they have not yet gotten anything doing. DID YOU KNOW THAT Aare Afe Babalola got his SAN by correspondence? You had better strived to be relevant, rather than romancing your almighty BSc. |

I want to make it abundantly clear to all Nigerians and the world at large that I did not contest or win elections in Nigeria in 2015.
That was the sublime period of GEJ'S evil shadow ruling, He clandestinely cloned himself in my apparel, making people believe I am the one. That period, can best be classified as Nigeria's dark years.
I was virtually in my farm in my Daura village, tending my cows during the said period.

eluquenson: You can have that title in Lagos but not in Oyo, these people self always go beyond their limit. I think its just a ceremonial title just to uphold and preserve their tradition. They ain't trying to to over rulership. just as it is in tertiary institutions; its mainly to foster their culture and traditions. |

Musiwa419: Why are the ibos the only one that always have issues with their host wherever they go? There are other tribes in Ibadan also but one wouldnt hear nonsense such as this from them. Why must it always be the ibos? Why must you fight over Kingship title in another mans Kingdom?
There is a large Lebanese and Syrian community in Ibadan. There are Hausas, Calabars, Ijaws, Idomas, Tivs, Ogonis and all other ethnic group working and residing in Ibadan, but they all respect the custom of their host onlike the ibos who would always want to upset others Its just ceremonial. Don't take it personal or make it blown out of proportion. |
