donjazzet: Ohh blueray this downright evil and highly disingenuous of you. Of my 13 years on this forum, the only "defense" of mine towards the APC administration throughout the years is this singular post?? One which isn't even an outright defense but a reinforcement of a notion I've indeed consistently held and more shockingly so without the context of that post which lies in lieu of the endsars debacle?
Meanwhile the same me made this post about Buhari and consistently criticized him and other supporters who outrightly supported their evil.
My history here shows that I was at best a passive VOTER not necessarily a supporter or a crusader like Oasis and larride are for Tinubu and Buhari respectively. You can literally count on your fingers my pro-buhari posts on this forum. I was mostly anti-pdp than pro-apc. I'm at best likened to izzou or yourself who infact did vote for Obi but can hardly be called a "strong supporter or crusader" like many obidients like myself here.
Of course, all these elaboration would do nothing to stop these outlandish notion that maybe all APC voters should never condemn APC or its PRESENT supporters. You're calling me a hypocrite without pointing out what this hypocrisy is that you speak of. But you used your own hands to call yourself "Buhari biggest supporter" on this platform. Are you saying you forgot what you used your own hands to type? Donj please now. 😂 |

izzou: Why not do the comparisons before slandering the comment?
Thailand produces rice, exports to Benin Republic, and it is smuggled here, yet it is cheaper
Just mentally calculate the taxes and profits on it as it moves from country to country, seller to seller, and it is still cheaper than our own. It tells you that his comment is right.
I'll be waiting for your counterfacts, instead of the "Nigerians are very wicked" line. He wants a local rice producer that's still struggling with rocketing prices of grains, fuel and the likes to compete with Thailand that produces 20m tonnes of rice, 8m more than they needed in their country. |

LikeAking: Oga na the lies the big man tell you be that…
Ask them to provide evidence to back their claims of high production…
Things are way cheaper in Nigeria before now…
Land for example is cheaper when compared to Thailand…
Our people are just wicked…..
How come Indomie produced by foreigners was very cheap when compared with prices abroad..
The Nigerian man is just wicked….
Do you mind mentioning on comparative advantage Thialand has over us when it come to rice farming? Thailand is currently producing 20m tonnes of rice annually for a 70m population, while we current produce 5m tonnes of rice for an estimated 200m population. Out of the 20m that Thailand produces, they export over 8m. Thailand has advantages in a better industrial economy which greatly impact their cost of production and processing. Go to the market today and check the price of grain, diesel, transportation even storage. We cant compete with Thailand (who are not even in top 3 biggest producer of rice in the world) when it comes to production of rice and its attendant cost until things improve drastically here. |

We were discussing about how Buhari has refused to address the nation in critical times and ur MCM was talking about knowing the name of our councilor, LGA chairman and house of reps members. Even Abroadians wey he dey always diss no dey do that kind gaslighting.

Oasis003: ....then why did BUA CEO agree to reduce price? According to him, he will do so once Sokoto Line and other place he mentioned come on stream to meet the demand as a result of price reduction and possibly to force others to do same.
How much is a bag of rice in Benin Republic?! Well let's see how it goes with BUA and the cement industry. I don't know the price of rice in Benin republic currently but I believe it will be cheaper than ours here simply because Benin republic import most of their rice to route it to Nigeria (Infact that's how foreign rice get into the country illegally) Thailand where they import most of these rice from has a comparative and production advantage over us. What it will take Thailand to produce a process and produce a bag of rice is not the same thing when you compare it to their Nigerian counterpact. The local rice industry cannot compete with Thailand as their cost of production are both different. Opening up the border and allowing importation of rice once again will just surely kill off the local industry and whatever investment done and gains we have recorded in the past years will be eroded. |

izzou: Apart from costlier, i feel it has no edge over our conventional buses.
The first headache for a commuter is where the Marina terminal is located.
A bus from Mile 2 has 30% of its passengers alighting at Apongbon, another 40 to 50% alighting at Oando, and the rest at Marina.
If i enter at 750, I cannot come down at Apongbon or Oando. So i have to trek shegeshiously back to my shop.
I can see the train running empty back and forth, especially during the day. Ok. Let's see how it goes. |

Oasis003: BUA CEO has promised to reduce price of Cement before end of year. According to him, he will do so to support the Government not out of fear - lifting embargo on Cement Importation by FG.
Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Trade should pressure local Rice Firms to reduce their prices too or advise PBAT to open borders for Importation. How can they reduce their price when their cost of production has gone up? Govt shouldn't be by intimidation or strongmanship. If they cannot break even or even make profit because of the cost of production, how do you want the industry to survive when they are forced to lower their price or even compete with cheaper imported product? The govt needs to aggressively help them cut down their cost of production which keep skyrocketing due to the many issue plaguing the economy before we start talking about fair price of goods. Doing business is already hard enough in the country, we shouldn't make it even harder by forcing people to sell lower than what they need to sell to make profit so that the govt can look good on paper. |

izzou: May God help this people to break even.
Marina to Mile 2 at 750?
When LT and Danfo dey collect 300 to 400? and with Eko bridge intact, you can do the distance in 20 to 30 minutes?
You mean its costlier abi? And they said it's even with the govt 50% reduction in transportation oo. So let's wait if it will be 350 on monday or 750. If its 750, it means the intended price before the 50% reduction is 1500. I really don't know how city metro line pricing works in other country so I can't even comment on it. Maybe our "abroadians" can give us an idea. |
