DissTroy: Tinubu has and is playing a tribal card. He's the only one of the candidates who campaigned with a tribal card during the primaries. He said "Yoruba lokan" and narrowed it down to in Yorubaland, "Emi lokan". He used it as a rallying cry, even at the Alaafin's Place. Verify this. He said same in Ogun State. That's the period he also called the Ogun Governor " Eleyi".
Google or local-search " Yoruba lokan" on Twitter and Facebook. All the proponents are Tinubuists. Most of us don't care where the president is from. Most of the educated ones at least. I do not believe in South East, South South, Yoruba or Northern presidency. It just so happens that the best person for the job is Peter Obi who's from the South East. If Osinbajo were on the ballot like Obi, there'd be no need to rally with tribal sentiments like Tinubu is doing because he's sellable. You lie effortlessly. I think it's even safe to say yo6 dont even understand Yoruba and its context. Tinubu rightly said Emi Lokan in Ogun State. Prior to that Tinubu had did consultations in most of the states leading to the primary election and the reason he said Emi lokan was clear in Ogun State as it's the only state he made that statement. That you trying to use a statement made to his party members about it being his turn to be supported to mean the tribal card shows how disingenuous you are. And yes Tinubu Lokan. |

Theflint1: I was responding to him saying Tinubu cannot play a tribal game, and telling him why Tinubu can in fact play one and make it work in his favor.
As regards tribalism directed against the Igbo's, there's more than enough evidence of him doing that subtly and the consequent overt tribalism by the ultras supporting him. Tinubu's campaign has been the one hinged most on tribalism, it's no coincidence. Here I was thinking you were going to bring evidence of where Tinubu or his campaign spokespersons were using the tribal card. In fact on this platform, you Obi supporters has claimed Obi will win his region and still get more votes in the SW than anything Tinubu can get in the SE. We have more Yorubas supporting Obi than we have Igbos supporting Tinubu. |

Theflint1: Why can't Tinubu play a tribal game though? All he has to do is direct his tribalism to Igbos and no other tribe, it's not like Northerners would bat an eyelid if tribalism is directed against the South East and it's not like he'd have ever gotten SS/SE votes with another strong Southener contesting. Tell us the tribal game he has played or the Tribalism he has directed to the igbos. |

The railway has 61 bridges built for it. That is no small feat.
The Blue rail is not even a heavy guage rail. The Ethiopian rail is. The Blue rail is not even electric. The Ethiopian rail is.
The raft foundation you talk about starts from Orile to Marina. That is a 10km distance or so. Max is 15 km
And nowhere did i say the rail was not existing[/color] The blue line is electric and the blue line project is for phase 1 and phase 2. What has been completed is phase 1, phase 2 will start when Buhari commission the phase 1. |

On Security - No President can create state or local police without the NASS, Governors and State House of Assemblies because it's a constitutional matter. On Economic - Our economy is already diversified, oil contribute less than 10% of our GDP. The Buhari administration has been running a Agric economy with lots of agricultural policies, schemes and programmes. For us to farm what we eat, we need to move from subsistence farming to large scale farming. We need manufacturing and industrial clusters all round the country to quickly ramp up our manufacturing and industrial capabilities. The Buhari administration tried with the MSE clinics they started but the impact hasn't been felt yet. We also need to cut down on bureaucracy time which frustrate investors and contribute to our low ease of doing business ranking. We also need a change to our fiscal and monetary policies as inconsistent fiscal and monetary policies that Buhari/Emefiele has forced down on us has affected the economy. On Governance - We need an effective and productive work force i.e Civil Service. For any government to function optimally you need those entrusted with public responsibilities to actually do the job they are being paid public money to do. The Orosanye recommendation on restructuring the civil service should be implemented irrespective of whatever labour will say or not. We cannot be doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. Also strengthen NFIU, ICPC to make sure that all leakages, corrupt practices and ghost workers are plugged. On Power - The renewal of Discos licenses will be next year (or this year, I'm not really certain atm) and I expect whoever becomes President should not renew all these Discos license because it's obvious that they do not have the capacity to run an efficient power distribution company. This current NASS has passed constitutional amendment to take power and rail out of the executive list to the concurrent list which will enable states and private investors to invest in the power sector and embark on power projects. (Same for rail). The Siemens deal also will considerably increase our power situation when completed. Completion date is 2025. On Corruption - Like GloriousGbola said earlier, corruption seems to have eaten deep into the thick and fabric of the nation. Right from the top to the woman in the market, corruption is everywhere. We first need a more robust institution empowered to fight corruption among the elites, EFCC needs to be reorganized and sensitize for efficient delivery of the core mandate. When there is consequences for action and not delayed justice that takes several years to get and the perpetrator still walking away under one or two technicalities then we will go no where. I also like the ideal of the credit system proposed by Tinubu. When we move from cash based transaction for every of our needs and we can use credit to access these needs, I believe it should reduce corruption especially in the civil service and middle class. In all of this, only one candidate has the capacity to proffer solutions to these mirage of problems. He has done it before and he will do it again. Vote wisely, Vote Tinubu. |

While I support this directive, I'm still not clear about how practical this can be considering the fact that we are a federation and a federal agency (NFIU) cannot give directives to subnational entities like state govt or local govt.
How then do they hope to achieve this? Is it not better it should have been a NASS bill sponsored by NFIU?

BlueRayDick: I believe in Africans looking within and finding their own system of government that suits them. Democracy leaves room for so many excesses while some of our traditional system of government in the past also had checks and balances in place . We should look at working something out for ourselves . I agree with this only on the basis of finding solutions to different problems that plague us. Democracy still remain the best form of government to me. What we need is a different kind of approach to how we propose solutions to our problems. Because a model work in the west does not necessarily means it will work here, we must always factor in our peculiarities when proposing solutions and how it will affect our people. Our people do not think, reason and behave like people in the west so its unreasonable to model our solution the way they do theirs. That's why most of these copy and paste solution that our leaders do fail because they fail to put into consideration the peculiarities of their people. |

Serve the president with impeachment notice and he will adjust sharply
Most Nigerians don't really know how governance works in a democracy.
A president will have to humble himself a lot to get anything done We saw how Saraki the Senate President boasted how the delayed the national budget for 8 months and even cut some critical infrastructural spending like the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway funding. Buhari has been complaining back to back about how the NASS keep injecting projects into the budget whenever he sends it for review and approval. This is the same Buhari/Lawan/Gbaja that are in the same party. Now imagine both executive and legislative not on the same terms or party sef. |

He can also effect change through his annual budget. Imagine NASS alone gulping N330billion from this year's budget. Some of those are newspaper allowances up to the tune of tens of millions per house member. At bolded, its obvious you havent been checking our national budget to come to this conclusion. If there would be government intervention in determining price then there should be a form of subsidy which we don't want due to abuse. You dont know what you are wishing for. Donjazet2: Bros I'm showing you polling. This is the only acceptable method of guaging the sentiment of a place globally.
Polls are how politicians know their strengths and their weak areas. Polling companies are designed to specifically do that. We've seen them be successful in Nigeria in previous elections so why are you not accepting them this time around.
These are numbers with people on ground and they're telling you that right now Obi is leading tinubu in Lagos. Whether that translates to these people standing up to go and vote is what we are yet to see. But the sentiment is that he's preferred to tinubu. You clearly do not know how these polling works and I am in no mood to explain anything to you. Put your money where your mouth belong. |

Donjazet2: Larride this is another professional poll released today. Can you see what I'm telling you about lagos and the SW.
According to the poll sample analysis. The SW educated demography and the christians are leaning towards Obi more than in any other region. By religion, the Yoruba Muslims lean very heavily towards tinubu but Lagos is a state where christians outnumber moslems.
The polling held in Lagos shows Obi leading in Lagos state. How much do you want to stake Tinubu will win Lagos. All this shalaye I no get time for it. |

The post you quoted is me pointing out voting demographics. Nothing to do with being negative or hateful. This is not the first time you will be saying tha rubbish Was it not you that said it the other day that if other tribes (we know who you are talking about) comes out in bloc numbers to vote, your candidate will win Lagos? You go to alaba and you get a feel like you've stepped into aba main market. The population is there to actually vote in some of these candidates. But such can't happen in places like etiosa. It's just simple demography. The funny thing is that you are always accusing others of Tribalism when it is written clearly on many of your post. You really need to pay more attention to yourself. |
