BlueRayDick: Of a truth LASUTH is well equipped (compared to other Government owned health institutions in the country ) , Lagos state government pumps in money for its running and maintenance , but sadly the staff there are typical Nigerian civil servants . I wouldn’t want to relive my experience there last year when I had course to take a family member there at different times .
Mehn! To even get ur card from the records department u have to get there as early as possible and use the Nigerian way to bypass a whole lot of unnecessary bureaucracies . The whole moving to the different clinics , God help u that u don’t have a connect there who would help u fast track the process ; u will see sick people lying helpless on pavements while those who brought them are on queue in their stead .
At various times we were literally attended to in the car; my patient had a drip stand fixed by the side of the car while he took two drips inside the car . The doctor and nurses practically told us not to bring down the patient from the car that the patient will be attended to in the car cos there wasn’t any bed or wheelchair free at that moment .
I think I agree with Raumdeuter, privatization is the way forward for all those government run businesses baba I dont think Govtt need to hands off every businesses. It's not even possible to do that. What need to change is the attitude of those employed to work, they should do their work. I will always say that whoever work for the government is responsible for how the government turns out to be. It is everyday citizens that run the various sector and if they do their job as they should, we wont be having this causes. Why system works in the saner climes is because people do their job. It is people that make up a system that function well. If we privatize everything, you will leave the poor of the poor in the hands of greedy capitalist who are only after maximizing profits. It's the same problem that US health care system is having while the UK system that's run by the govt is so much better. |

Amoto94: You are right about the fact that people aren't punished for their crimes well enough in this country that's criminal activities will continue to thrive because people are not held accountable for their undoings, at best what we get is a slap on the wrist kind of punishment or a Presidential pardon few years down the line. Naming and prosecuting offenders will serve as deterrence to others failure to do so will embolden existing and would-be offenders. Just like what happened with the adulterated fuel. No one was punished and it can happen again because these guys will see themselves as untouchable. Same way IGP will give orders to police formation across the country and you will see ordinary constable and sergeant boldly going against the orders. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 9:08am On Aug 31, 2022 |
BlueRayDick: The government should name and shame these religious houses involved , have their leaders and other individuals involved prosecuted and answer for their crimes . We should not just be reading about these things in pages of newspapers and on social media, they should put face to these criminals and single them out for punishment in accordance with the laws of the land .
One thing I’ve learnt is when people are aware there are little or no consequences to their actions, they tend to have disregard for both laws and rules of morality.
A senior colleague was telling me how things usually operated in one of the first generation banks in the past. When a staff is found to have committed a fraud and the money he fraudulently appropriated is lower than his expected severance package/retirement benefits, they just deduct the money from his retirement benefits/ gratuity and allow him/her to continue working with the same bank with constant salary with full benefits till retirement . The cases of fraud never abated in the bank due to this policy till during Sanusi’s tenure as CBN governor and new management took over the bank.
With new management in place, any case of fraud is transferred to EFCC, the staff is summarily dismissed and most of them end up getting prosecuted even after the bank must have pursued recovery from the benefits that would’ve accrued to the staff. The cases of fraud reduced to a barest minimum cos people knew there were major consequences for their actions You are right. Sometimes when you read what Kyari says you wonder if the govt has no powers or they just decided not to use the power. How can we be losing 95% from a terminal to theft and everyone involved in that terminal are not cooling off in prison at this moment. No way crude oil bunkering of that extent will be happening without the collusion and knowledge of everyone working there. Kyari should've been sacked since that adulterated fuel happened, buhari gave an order for those responsible for the fuel to be investigated and prosecuted but nothing happened. Everyone working on that Bonny plant from the MD to the bottom should be sacked and prosecuted and their accomplice in the community, religious house and creeks should be rounded up also. |

I am the most prominent Obi supporter here, point out where I have denigrated the entire yoruba race. I have never accused you of tribalism, have i? But you have accused every single supporter of Tinubu as a tribalist. Why is that? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 6:36pm On Aug 29, 2022 |
donjazet: Larride don't get this twisted, I have always distinguished between you and adepoju. While he himself is a vengeful and hateful vermin, you are a simply party agent with a soul for hire. Your conscience is for sale. The party is paramount and sacrosanct so even if the APC had presented a baboon as a candidate, you will accept it and find a way to sell us the baboon as acceptable, you will point out the masterful organization of the baboons and how they are more organized than us and how we have to give animals chance to rule over us.
Whether the baboon was answering emeka or abdulahi or kolawole, you won't care. You would just care that the party wins.
So no my dear larride, you aren't a radical tribalist, you are just a paid party agent with a soul for hire. Your head is paining you Donj. Before APC primaries, I have clearly supported Tinubu above every other candidate. And Yes, I could still have supported whoever won the primaries anyways as long as the person is a progressive. That I clearly want Tinubu over Peter Obi doesn't mean if Peter Obi wins the election I will be seeking the downfall of his administration. |

It's just that the same tribalism we accuse DonJ of doing, others do it and tag one reason or the other to it.

izzou: Like I said, Most Mile 12 clashes is based on who controls Mile 12.
We can call it Cult oh, or Fraternity, but NURTW is always the constant K in it.
Owode is just few metres from Mile 12, yet the clash no dey reach there.
Ojota is just few meters from Ketu and Mile 12, yet its peaceful.
Maybe saying Institutionalisation is a strong term, but let's not turn a blind eye like it's not NURTW boys that are disturbing themselves there Whenever theres clash in mile 12, it sometimes extend to Owode. Nurtw boys are not the only one disturbing themselves there. If you know anyone in Alapere well, they can give you a better understanding of that terrain. The thing is that most of these agberos are cult members also themselves so its easy to conflate any of the clash whenever it happens. |

izzou: It is just that most times, we are quick to attack the message. Because I really don't know what Blueray said that warrants the Stephen treatment
This is not the 50th time that there would be clashes at Mile 12. Mile 12 everytime. Ikorodu proper spans after Ojota, Ketu, Owode, Irawo, Ajegunle, Ogolonto, Agric, down to Sabo, yet only Mile 12 will be having clashes everytime.
That place has always been a battleground for supremacy of who collects dues in that region. Mile 12 does not sleep because of that market. Any union leader there will cash out easily, so fight must dey everytime. It is synonymous to how Oshodi was having clashes when Oluomo was trying to take over the leadership there.
That was the point he was trying to pass, but as usual, it needs to be derailed so Obi and IPOB can fit in. The major reason that clashes happens easily in mile 12 is because of Alapere and Ketu cult boys. Some of these guys are also in Nurtw. Ogolonto/Magidun have clashes also though not as rampant as mile 12 while it's Onyabo that actually curtailed the activities of cultist to a large extent in Ikorodu. And no that's not the point he was trying to make, there is no institutionalization of Agbero in Lagos, that point will never fly. |

Amoto94: Oasis, Blueraydick, illimitable and larride you all should sheath your swords. I'm not fighting anybody but sometimes some records need to be set straight if not, these narratives will stick. Theres no state you get to in this country that doesn't have Nurtw or Agberos. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state appointed a criminal sent to prison for murder as the head of park committee but its Lagos that's institutionalizing Agberos. Very annoying narrative |

patrickmuf: I keep saying it, Tinubu, Obi and Atiku have occupied public offices before now so, rather than listen to stories, it's better to take a look back at their time in office and see if what they're saying now is in tandem with what they did when they had the constitutional powers are responsibility to develop their respective states...
For me, Tinubu's age is the only downside to his candidature and that's enough for me not to support him.
Obi is just too deceptive, he plays to the gallery and for me, that's a red flag...Another thing about him is his subtle attempt to divide the country along religious lines...
Atiku is a big No. We can't have another Northerner after 8 years of Buhari, it's not just right...
The 3 front line aspirants for one reason or another are not going to do any better... Vote Sowore |

The entire SE are observing another curfew today. Even Obi’s conglomerates all over the SE also observe this sit-at-home - losing billions of naira in trade every Monday.
Yet, the agberos(who also include 40% of SE boys) in Lagos are your problem. The hypocrisy of the average Nigerian baffles me every day. Hes a PDP boy that's always disguising. Every single time, all he does is trash talk Lagos. Radarada |
