GloriousGbola: i doubt the man expected his sudden boost in popularity. all of this is an attempt to maintain momentum. his supporters probably know its all bullshit, but they are all in ride or die mode.
like the bizarre visit to a power station control room in egypt as a primer to solving nigeria's power problems. Even yesterday on Arise TV when they ask him for his manifesto, he said what's the point of hiring professionals to come up with a manifesto that he doesn't believe in but rather they should hold him to the words he says in the interview. I just listened to it and shake my head and wonder how anyone will think he will make a good president but who I'm I to question either people choice. |

Theflint1: Tinubu is supposed to get 25% in at least 25 states, and a simple majority to win the election.
Tinubu should be strategizing on how to get up to 70% from the SW and Lagos (Tinubu will not get 60% of votes from Lagos), and leave sponsoring SS and SE for Peter Obi...lol. Anything around 60% or less by Tinubu in the entire SW and he should kiss 2023 goodbye. I like that confidence sha. |

izzou: I am not even an Obi fan sef. I dey even drag am.
I have listened to him without emotions, and most times, he spends more time repeating the problems and backing it with figures. I don't see much solutions in his Pep talk
The reason I am voting him is because Apc needs to be punished for failures. We shouldn't be rewarding failures.
As for Atiku, his desperation is becoming suspicious At bolded, with wrong figures. He cook his own figures in his kitchen before dropping them. Yesterday on Arise TV, he says Morroco has the best port in Africa and that none of our ports are nothing to write home about. A little google search will reveal that Port of Durban of South Africa is the best port in Africa while Lagos Port ranks above any of Morroco Port. He also said Morroco make more from export than Nigeria, a simple google search will also reveal that Nigeria earns more from export than Morroco. I said it here some days ago that for a former Governor, he just keep dishing out wrong figures and statistics that you begin to ask yourself why he needs to lie on things that are easily verifable. |

Jodera: Tohh, you don see strategy na. I just hope Obi and his people have their own strategy too.
Me, I'll vote for him and I know I've done my own part. Hopefully, other Obi supporters see it that way and vote where it's needful instead of a useless place It's not just about you voting alone. In a federal election, the party structure is very important. Obi chanced could've been boosted if he was running in PDP. If you do a little sample here, all those that will vote Peter Obi here will never vote for Tinubu and will most likely vote Atiku if Obi is not in the race, that automatically means PDP voting is been eroded in some region for Obi. If you check most of the Twitter warriors of Obi, they are majorly PDP leaning handles. Any which way, Obi will share PDP votes in the SE and some part of SS while Atiku will collect PDP votes in the North. Anyhow you look at it, it favors APC. |

BlueRayDick: I just hope whoever is going to be the president has other ideas of generating revenue other than Taxation, taxation and more taxation.
I'm saying this because I'm yet to see FG thinking about how to increase government's earnings other than imposing more tax on the people. Now we have them taxing almost everything in sight both in Lagos and at the federal Level. They tax recharge cards/phone calls, increase vat , drive PAYEE like mad and even tax traders through fees, rates and dues. Yet goverment earnings is not matching it's spendings. Of course, If you follow Tinubu colloquium that he does on his birthday annually, he always give his advice on how things can be improved on. There's one that Buhari was the Guest Honor of the day and Tinubu was talking about how to tackle and reduce corruption in the civil service. He practically told Buhari then that Efcc alone cannot eradicate corruption from the civil service until a credit system is made paramount instead of the cash and carry system we currently operate. A gave an example, A civil servant that has been working for say 6-10yrs, how does this civil servant buy a car or get a home? If he wants either, he will be required to pay cash for it, if his salary cannot fund it, he looks for way to game the system to get the cash to buy the car/house. But a credit system where civil servant can use their job/salary to get these things on credit while they pay installmently will help reduce corruption in the civil servant by a big stretch. Likewise mortgage for houses. When they wanted to increase VAT to 7.5% also, in that year Colloquium, Tinubu pleaded with V.P Osibanjo and his team not to go ahead with the increase of VAT because it will reduce the purchasing power of the masses and further throw more into poverty. He rather suggested that the tax net be expanded to include those whose income are taxable but not currently paying taxes into the tax net, he even suggested luxury tax that target the elite. But what did Osinbajo did? They went ahead with the VAT increase anyways. I think that's when Tinubu stop disturbing himself with any advice if they are not going to consider it. |

Of recent I've sampled opinion of people offline both the formal and informal sector it's looking like people don't really care like that ; they just want a presidential aspirant that can win votes in Tinubu and Àtiku.....they don't give a 4ck about the vice which actually favors Tinubu's team. The SW dont really care about religion like that. It might be different in other regions. |

Roland17: I like the idea of the economy and tackling inflation because that would have immediate effect on the lives/ pockets of average Nigerians and may also reduce some aspects of insecurity witnessed across the country. I don't expect the next president to solve all of Nigeria's problem but I would like to see some consistency in addressing whatever he prioritizes across board.
While a single exchange is great for stabilizing the naira and the economy because it is more predictable, it may not work if Nigeria has not addressed self sustaining economic factors like power generation and energy production and distribution that will keep the economy powered. We must also be able to boost our foreign reserve to sustain the single exchange rate system and that means the government will be buying the bulk of the foreign currency so they can peg the price.
Well appreciated. I do agree that no President can solve the problem of the country at once, solving our issues is a marathon and not a sprint. It's going to take consistent quality leadership to breakthrough. Once we make it possible that successive government dont abandon their predecessors projects and strive to have them completed, we will begin to see clear progress. On stabilizing the naira and having a single forex exchange rate, its important because having multiple exchange rate and the way Emefiele is handling this forex restriction is also one of the major cause of the hyperinflation we are having. While I do understand the reason while they are restricting access to forex anyhow, we cannot put the cart before the horse. Until we become self sufficient on most of our basic needs, forex restriction won't work. We also need to massively increase our revenue. We need creative thinkers who can think out of the box and formulate a plan to expand the economy and bring the informal sector fully integrated into the economy. And this is why I am supporting Tinubu. |

If Tinubu wins the presidential election, which sector of the economy would you like to see him prioritize and address with urgency? Economy itself, tackle hyperinflation, stabilize our fiscal and monetary policies and revert back to a single exchange rate. Decentralize police to tackle insecurity better while the military continue onslaught against the terrorist. Continue the infrastructural development of Buhari. |

kingBolton: His main objective in 2023 is to win Kano state back from Ganduje, which is very much possible now with his recent alignment with ibrahim shekarau. It's now Ganduje vs Kwankwaso and shekarau whereas in 2019 it was Ganduje and shekarau vs Kwankwaso.
Currently, his presidential ambition is just testing the water. More like knowing his strength in the north that he will use as a bargaining chip in 2027. Correct. If he lose the guber battle, he sails into political oblivion because he has lost his base. |

nihilistjnr: It's definitely not impossible. I had an appendectomy at Orile-Agege general hospital in the mid 2000s and everyday without fail somebody died on my ward for the week I was there
Infact whilst recuperating from the surgery, I stole Eko from.the plate of the baba sleeping next to me, as i was hungry as hell but wasn't allowed to eat solid foods for another couple of days. Within an hour when they came to give baba his drugs the nurses realised baba wasn't sleeping...he was dead.
As they drew the curtains around baba and were frantically trying to resuscitate the man, fear just dey catch me, make baba no appear for my dream asking for his Eko.
I was on thar ward 5-6 days, and everyday day at least 1 person died. Mosquito dey bite us. Light no dey dey sometimes cos dem go off gen. The ward toilets were filthy. Staff toilet next door was locked until I protested and then a nurse took me into the sparkling clean toilet they kept for themselves.
So even if larride is correct on this, I know from experience how deadly a Nigerian hospital ward can be anyway. Of course, I never argued that these issue with epileptic power supply can't happen. I think its one of the reason why Lagos State use mostly IPP for their hospital, government buildings, even LASU and the likes now instead of relying on the national grid. But that Rivers hospital death has been confirmed to be fake news. |
