Great one. Kai, makes me remember those days of Segun Toriola, Monday Merotohun, Atanda Musa, Bose Kaffo, Funke Oshonaike. Then there was the guy with the funniest name to me then, Sao Aiyemojuba.

Even as a young boy i preferred Oshonaike to Kaffo because she was prettier, lol. Mehn there were some epic battles during this golden age of Naija table tennis.

Toriola and Atanda Musa have longevity at a relatively high level, however none of them is ranked as high globally in their sport as Hakeem, and none was ever the best player in the world.

But he didn’t play for professional for the Nigeria Basketball team.

I don't think you will find any other Nigerian whose all time rank in his sport is as high AND was also great for as long.

I have politicians as friends and I know how they run some of these things. I'm just surprised the way u usually give simple explanations to all these things when we all know politics in Naija is very complex.

During this last general election, I was rounding up my Masters programme and one of my course mate happens to be a politician( In fact he's a former LCDA chairman aspirant). He was gisting me about a particular aspirant for House of assembly post in the opposition party whom I saw his video and asked wassup with that man.

He laughed and told me they played big joker on the guy and that's why I saw him raging like a bull in the video. What they did was simple, they had agents in all the polling units in the constituency aside the accredited party agents whose job was to monitor the results of the polls and send it straight to my guy.

My guy then had the job of collating all results and send same to the situation room. In the situation room they manipulated the figures and had them sent to their contact at INEC who did the magic. So results announced at INEC collation centre was inflated giving them a wider margin for each polling unit.

Now Here is the gist; my guy told me those agents who monitored the results were billed to get 10k each, but 2,500 was slashed out of it and the contract was giving to him for 7,500. I now asked if he also slashed ₦2,500 leaving the guy's with ₦5,000. He said " For where?" He actually slashed ₦5,000 and gave those guys the job for ₦2,500.

He said that right there is how politics work in Nigeria, u cut and cut and cut till it's impossible to cut again.

Naija politics is not the simple answers u always give here in most matters o, it goes beyond that

If you follow TrackNg on Twitter, you will see that they reported that there are some places that some of the beneficiaries are paid 15k and some 10k and they tagged both NSIP and HUP for explanation and investigations into these possible anomaly.

The process might not be perfect and need improvement and expansion but outrightly dismissing the program as a lie or audio is why we keep going in circles on this issue here.

You seem to take everyone who calls out the present government for how they run the government recklessly as a PDP sympathizers; well I'm not one. I just hate being taken as a fool by the government.

Like I said the day when this argument started, there are some checks n balances which I mentioned that you have overlooked.

Let me break it down again and hopefully I don’t have to repeat myself again.

CBT is done by the communities where they define what poverty means for them and they collate their list in wards which they send to the local government. Yes the state government are the one that will train staff to carry out this CBT so it’s possible to falsify data from the local government.

Now NSIP (FG) are the one that does the verification through PMT (Proxy means Test) where they go to each communities and visit the homes of those on the list. Apart from checking out the communities, some of the questions they ask borders on the poverty index like source of income, TV, gen, widow or widower, dependent and the likes. This is the way the verification takes place. After the verification NSIP (FG) then does the data capturing through Household uplifting program (HUP) where they create a wallet for them and an ID card.

Now to payment, the money doesn’t go to state government or local government to share, HUP select a payment service provider to cover each state, SIP then pay to the beneficiaries directly after verification of their names.

Zamfara, Abia, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa beneficiaries haven’t gotten their own money yet, the Minister said their contract was terminated because they were delaying in carrying out their contractual agreement.

The chart you posted, it’s obvious Ebonyi missing is an error.

Your last point, while you are partly correct, Buhari actually ordered the Minister to pay those on the list 20k during his broadcast on March 29. The Minister hasn’t paid anyone since Jan because she claimed she’s still studying how the all ministry works, it’s the same issue those on N-Power are facing. I’m not sure they have received their feb stipend though the minister said payment will start this week. The minister has done a shabby job compared to when Maryam Uwais was the one in charge of the whole NSIP.

I am one of those people that always blame state governments for failing the people despite getting huge allocations from FG( Like I blame all past and present governors of Bayelsa for the state being underdeveloped till now).....But when Federal government locks down economic nerve centres of Lagos, Ogun State....and then proceeds to share money to farmers in Katsina, Kebbi, Bandits in Zamfara and Kaduna....I believe educated person should be triggered to ask questions.

The only way Govt can provide any sort of believable palliative in such short time period is by asking banks to credit any personal bank account in the country within a limit of transaction levels with a certain figure.

Only a fool will believe LGAs will get directive by end of this week, assess and verify poor households in their vicinity and submit list by end of next week. Some LGA will be using web-based data system, some will be using Excel while most will be writing on paper. What a massive avenue for corruption from APC house of confusion. LGA Chairmen will just write result jor.

And this is how you know the level of corruption involved here. Buhari said he wants an extra one million households. That means they will write result because surely all the LGAs in the country will not submit exactly 1 million. Infact, there is no reason why 20-50 million names should not be submitted by end of next week given many people can arguably claim they fit the criteria. What will APC do then, will they cut the numbers to fit their target of 1 million households? How do you cut numbers at a global level without delving into the individual status of each person on the register. That means they are writing result and will just allocate numbers across each LGA to fit their 1 million target.

This is nothing new from APC. This is how they claimed Buhari won APC primaries with 15 millions votes. Does APC have 15 million members? How will 15 million people step out to vote in common primaries in this country and the country will not be at standstill like election day. They were writing numbers in APC primaries to justify the numbers they will write later in the general election. This Govt is despicable when it comes to numbers. Larride stop defending rubbish. What sort of sychophancy is this?
