Bernie cannot go for another run but he is not the only leftist We have AOC and the SQUAD who are even to the left of Bernie, Many politicians too are pandering to the left to get the younger voters

I dont have anything against Biden and he will just be the regular politician we all grew up with like Bush, Clinton and Obama

Trump has the advantage now but that could change very quickly in this fluid atmosphere
I don’t like Biden either.

AOC and her squad can’t do real damage anywhere jare.

Running as an independent is not popular especially in a presidential election because you need the machinery/ structure to coordinate a national election which an independent candidate will lack. Biden has promised to pick a woman as his running mate so that rules out A. Yang. Again, it will very difficult to rally Bernie's supporters to vote for Biden irrespective of who Biden picks, it is political ideology thing more than anything.
I believe Bernie will call it quit after this year election, if the liberals will get any of their dream policy, they must be ready to make concession. That has always been Bernie undoing. Many conservative Democrat sees him as an extremist.

With Bernie leaving the stage, his supporters will need someone to rally behind, that’s why I think Biden can make headway if he picks Elizabeth Warren.

Even if Bernie declares support for Biden, his supporters are totally different from your typical Democrat supporters. They are mostly young college students with strong liberal views. Most will rather stay away from voting than support a moderate or right leaning democrat. This is the problem most Democrats have with having Bernie run/ campaign under the Democratic party.
It begs the question why Bernie didn’t take the option of running as an independent candidate.

The truth is both Bernie and the Democrat party needs each other but it seems Democrats have settled for Biden.

If Biden picks a candidate like Elizabeth Warren or Andrew Yang as VP, it might boost his chances among liberals.

Trump is definitely and I mean 100% winning re-election. There is no credible opposition to challenge Trump.
It will most likely be a repeat of 2016.

Bernie supporters will sit this one out again. Those ones will rather see Trump wins than vote for a moderate Democrat.

Unless Bernie declare support for Biden early and not leave it late like he did in 2016.

While I agree with you, at least you heard him mention about how the BKH had hit them so much

He spent more time in that 2+ minute video talking about how they have wasted over 100 RPGs on them.

The reason why I asked about this is because you spent more time in the last comment talking about how victories are being underreported. If there are so many underreported victories, why are parts of the North East still unsafe? Why are we still fighting this war even after 4 years of being promised that "it will be a thing of the past?"

Tomorrow, you'll come and tell us how you are criticizing Buhari over his choices on defense, but here you are berating another person's victory so you can applaud Buhari

You are doing very well cool
They were ambushed. That was why he was saying they got wrong intel which lead to the ambush and they had taken heavy fire.

How I’m i berating another person victory? The attack is a joint operation between Chad, Niger and Nigeria involved in the MNJTF. Why exactly are they making it look as if Chad were acting on their own? See how airmark was quick to say “See what Chad and its President are doing” without acknowledging the fact that it was a joint operation that involved the Nigeria Air Force?

Chad withdrew his soldiers from the MNJTF in Jan, how is Nigeria going to control their borders? If not that BKH attack Chad base and kill 92 of their soldiers, you think they will come back to the JTF?

What the military are facing in the North East is not conventional war, BKH are using guerilla war tactics. Go read what guerilla warfare is.

https://www.nairaland.com/5766465/nigerian-army-removes-major-general-adeniyi
Yeah, I did followed the video and the subsequent redployment from Borno to Abuja.

I believe that video shouldn’t have leaked as whoever released that video to the public actually expose the man and his men as soft target. The Military were right to redeploy him away from the front line.

Now back to the basis of the video, you can hear from the video that the man was communicating with his superiors maybe in the DefenseHQ and he was giving back updates on the current situation of things. You can hear him saying “we are on the ground here, no one is running away”. The major takeaway from the video was that they were giving wrong intels which led to the ambush in the first place.

I am not a military expert but I’m sure an investigation will take place to ascertain the unit that gave the wrong intel. As I said on Twitter when I saw the video, their mission was sabotaged by someone in the military.

Put in effort to come and do what your troops couldn't do for many years, while billions were spent?

Let's blame Chad for Gen Adeniyi's recent revelation too. sad

One of you apc guys, that wanted to twist the story on twitter, when the video of Nigerian troops hailing the Chadian army was uploaded, got his ass.s exposed.

It's better for you guys to keep it mute and stop blaming other people for your self-inflicted woes. Shame.
Lol.

Maybe you should pay attention to the news more. Buhari has been complaining of Chad and Niger not complimenting the work the military guys have been doing. Chad is BKH base for launching attacks, stockpiling ammunition’s and where they retreat to whenever the Nigerian military is on the offensive.

What you are seeing is Chad is on a revenge mission when BKH/ISWAP attack their base for 7 hours where the Chadian army lost 92 soldiers. Suddenly, Chad and its President knows where 5 of their base is. Connect the dot.

Even this victory that you are giving Chad is made possible by the operations of the Nigeria Airforce that was giving them area support in the battle but you won’t hear that because it doesn’t fit into the narrative.

When I says news of the Military exploits in these war is being underreported, I’m not joking.

If you follow my posts closely, you will note that I am not one to defend Nigerian politicians, but in this case, I will respectfully disagree with the embolden. Ambode worked wonders with road infrastructure in Lagos, particularly, the mainland. I visited home 2 years ago and to be honest, I was amazed at the number of roads/ bridges this man had constructed in such a short span. The more impressive thing was the quality of these roads!! Everyone I spoke with including Uber drivers, local chiefs/ landlords, market women acknowledged Ambode's strides even though they accepted he will not return for a 2nd term.
Lagos was dirtier than I had ever seen with refuse dumped along major roads and that was because of the politics that was being played with waste management so I did not really blame him. He may have failed in other areas but calling his tenure a disaster is not a true reflection of what I saw when I visited home. Again, I hold not party affiliations in Nigeria and could care less about any Nigerian politician.
If you check my subsequent post, you will see I did acknowledge the fact that Ambode did build some new roads and did well in Epe.

But he neglected existing roads that need maintenance and repairs. LSPWC that were in charge of road maintenance and repairs were rendered useless, majority of roads and connecting highways deteriorated badly.

The Cleaner Lagos Initiative is what turn Lagos into a defuse dump. Ambode went to bring Visionscape Sanitation Ltd from Dubai as its strategic partner when he already had a working system in place with the PSP operators.

Considering where Fashola left Lagos, Ambode did take us backward. If he had sustained the efforts of Fashola, Lagos would have developed more than this and Sanwoolu won’t be using the first year of his tenure to fixing decaying roads round the state.

Point 1/2 - Park management system is actually a good policy, increases IGR and gives people freedom from devilish/corrupt NURTW boss - Ajimobi banned street hawking, but was never effective, when last did you visit Oyo State, lol

I'm more concerned about the 4th point...
Seyi's free education is one of his best policies ever!

During Ajimobi's time; students were paying per term, they actually paid for everything - school fees, exam fee, test answer sheet, lesson, practicals, PTA, etc....
It was a difficult time for most parents, even for teachers because it was so difficult to keep such records (most parents were like contributing money per week, some would drop #200 today, #100 tomorrow).
These parents are mostly low income earners, even the students hustle after school....Why should it be hard for govt to give us free education, free education for the masses

Bro, I'm sure you don't know that we were sending the school fees to principal's account, not school... And the rest, we were sharing it somehow somehow

*When Seyi announced Free Education*
It was second term last year, and by third term last year, we had unimaginable number of new students. What does that mean? The Ajimobi (and diff schools) fee was a big deal to most parents.

It looked like it wasn't going to be so smooth from the outset, but now, every school is getting all the needed educational materials on time - chalks, markers and the likes... And Seyi is giving free books (exercise books and textbooks)...
So, the educational point you made, I don't agree with you
So if they can’t pay 1k per term and 3k per year, where are they going to get the money to pay for WAEC?

It seems you have forgotten what cause the introduction of the 1k per term fees in 2016. Don’t forget before then, It was free and the state govt was paying their WAEC also.

Anybody moving in Lagos knows that Ambode's buses are the current buses we use for BRT. They are not rotting anywhere. When Sanwo olu came in, he donated some of those buses to civil servants. How can they be rotting somewhere then, when it's obvious that the BRT buses are not even enough currently?

Easy brother, easy grin
I guess I should have worded that better. Majority of the blue buses Ambode bought were “wasting” away for the most part of Ambode govt. The blue buses are not under the BRT scheme, they are under the Lagos Bus Service Limited (LSBL). In fact the blue buses don’t run on the BRT lanes.

Most of these buses were meant to run from the Terminals that were being built and only Ikeja Terminal was completed and even that was later pulled down by Ambode govt himself.

The source, a caregiver, said the man did not disclose his travel history and had died “a few hours” after his admission to the Federal Government-owned facility.

“The man did not give his travel history or the fact that he had contact with someone who had travelled overseas.

“When asked, he told the doctors that he had no history of coughs, sore throat, joint pains or diarrhoea,” our source added.

However, when he developed complications, a junior doctor (Reg) at the Accident & Emergency Unit reviewed his case and notified the Senior Registrar of his suspicion.

“After the Senior Registrar reviewed his case and confronted him with their findings, the man revealed the true story about his travels and his fear that he might have contracted COVID-19 and died shortly afterwards.

“He confessed that he had been coughing and that he had returned from Holland two weeks ago, where he had gone for follow-up treatment after a renal transplant he also had there.

The man died early Friday morning, and the Lagos State coronavirus emergency workers took away his body.

“When confronted after the man’s death, his family members said they withheld the information about his likely COVID-19 infection because they were afraid that LUTH would reject him if they disclosed his true state,” our source added.

See the story of the new death in Lagos.

The man went to LUTH claiming he has Fever/tiredness when in fact he has serious cough. His family refused to disclose his travel history.

The man was put in the same open space as other patients at the emergency room of LUTH.

Doctors, nurses, cleaners and other health workers may have been exposed to this man. Not to even talk of the patients in the same space with him.

Now 4 doctors has gone into isolation like this. angry

Ambode was the best South West governor during his time but he is the one tagged a disaster..His major problem was abandoning fashola's projects.. but the things he did were quite commendable.. What he did in oshodi has solved traffic there in the next 100 years.. the oshodi road FG is building will complement it more... Ambode stopped Latsma from harrassing drivers.. stopped them from Collectin money and they fought him.. told nurtw to only collect money from bus stops and not stop them on the road.. His buses are world class and he's the only one that seem to be doing something about Lagos transport method. The roads he built especially in Epe can't be seen anywhere in Nigeria.. But he was judged by abandoning important projects and fighting godfathers. But no one came close to him with just four years in office.
Lol.

Anyone governing Lagos already has a head start because there’s a system in place already and what is needed is continuity.

Ambode was a disaster that happened to Lagos. Yes, he got some infrastructure right like the Abule Egba flyover bridge, the double overhead bridge in Ojodu Berger, the double overhead bridge in Secretariat and the likes. Oshodi clean up was majorly Fashola achievement, not Ambode. Ambode did start the Oshodi interchange but it’s still not completed yet.

Ambode was running a confused government. Was he not the one that sited a terminal in Ikeja, Buhari came to Lagos to commission the Terminal only for him to demolish the terminal without it ever being in use. Most of the buses for Lagbus bought by Ambode were rotting inside those uncompleted Terminals. The one at onyingbo is still there.

Was it not Ambode that relaxed the ban on street trading and almost all the bus stop were filled back with people selling stuff and impending flow of traffic? Was it not Ambode that brought Visionscape from Dubai to replace the PSP guys that were the one doing the waste collection? Was that not what turn Lagos into a refuse dump? Was it now Ambode that failed to continue the culture of road repairs by LSMOW thereby causing 80% of roads in Lagos to deteriorate? Was it not Ambode that relaxed the ban of Okada riders in the highway after Fashola banned them since 2011?

Was it not Ambode that failed to continue the Lagos blue line rail? What about the Ilubirin housing project that was abandoned? Ibeju Lekki seaport? angry

I’m happy he did develop Epe though a little though, at least his people will always remember they once have a governor.
