I wanted to ask. Was there really an improvement in City game or just they got lucky vs last season?

I am thinking back to the game Chelsea won them 3-1. There were multiple opportunities for City to have smacked Chelsea big time that day but they missed the chances, Chelsea had 3 counter attacks against the run of play and scored on all 3.

Was there really a tactical masterclass difference from last season or just a rub of green. KdB shoots that ball over or Chelsea score from a Cahill corner we would be having a different discussion or what do you think

In a game of football, anything can happen. Definitely City have improved from last season. They got better defensively, adapted more to Pep philosophy and were more focused and determined.

This same match could have ended 3 nil or so but you can also argue that Conte gamble with his line up and it didn't pay off, Morata injury also didn't help at all. Overall City has gotten way better than last season but they are very much beatable.

In as much as I wouldn't take anything away from City's brilliant display on Saturday, I think Chelsea's lethargic performance was partly due to that exhausting CL fixture (away to Athletico).

Mourihno shouldn't park any yeye bus Vs City (especially at Oldtrafford). Yeah, he could be a bit "cautious" with his team selection, formation & tactical approach but I wouldn't like to see us being bossed around at home....only to lose.

I hope none of our players gets injured during the international break.

We both know that how Mou will set up his team at Home is quite different from how he set it up away from home. He might be cautious at home but he's definitely not going to park the bus. i really do fancy our chances against City. We will trouble their defence. that one is sure.

Before Morata got injured, you guys were still pinned back. You guys try to play through the middle and not through the flanks, else Pedro could have started. Conte knows neutralising Sane was important, that's why he went for Apzi instead of moses and try choking the midfield. Overall City were the better side and they deserved their victory and yes you guys park the bus.

Their midfield is better than ours, they even have better players to call on from the bench than ours. Mou will definitely try to bypass that their midfield. We will cede possession to them also and hit them on the counter. I think Conte got it wrong by trying to win the midfield battle. He should have utilised the wings better.

I don't think it's wise starting both Rash and Martial together in a match. One will have to sit for the other and moreover it seems Martial picked up a knock during our last match. I believe Miki could have rocked the bench if there's anyone that can play the RW (apart from lingard pls ) and Mata deployed as the no 10.
