**Good afternoon to you all. I am a new bea here. Please, I need a quick information. Myself and my wife want to apply for EE and we are currently on our WES. She is the primary applicant and she has worked for more than 10years as admin officer in public service(govt work) . My question is if this "more than 10 years" in service would not affect our chances. Thanks.

Hello my poeple. Please, do anyone has an info on how I can successfully book an appointment on Schengen 90 days German visa. I have been trying to book a date since last week but the interview dates are always booked out by the time dates are released at 12midnight.

Sometimes, few dates reflect as free with the blue lines but it will later says *taken* when I try to book them.

Please, I need help. Kindly assist with necessary information.

Thanks.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all doing fine. I wish poeple who are going for interview this month and next month Good luck and I also wish those who are expecting AM best of luck.

For those coming for winter semester, I wish them good luck too. It been a while I write on this thread and I want to quickly share some info.

For those coming for Winter semester pls note this.

1. If you are coming for a programme (e.g masters) which is related to your bachelors, I suggest you refresh your memory with what you learn in your bachelor before you come. That is, if you have left school for a very long time. It might be very hard to cope in the first one month in class if you have forgotten what you learn in school.

2. Make sure that your accommodation is sorted before you come. Nobody has time for anybody here. You might end up in hotels and blow out all your money in two weeks.

3. Come with "2 mouth" extension plugs not "3" those things are expensive here. Like charger, cords, earpiece etc.

4. I will also add this, pls let's us engage in mutual respect when we are dealings with strangers. Expecially, people we have not meet before or know. It is a better way of getting things done easily when we are hunble and polite while engaging others in conversation.

Imagine, when you are getting response from someone whom you are trying to assist through this platform and you see words like "man", "guy" etc. to address you.

To me, it's out of sense when somebody do not have a reasonable manner of approache. Addressing someone you don't know or ever see with words like that is totally bad.

I am not saying this arrogantly or out of pride but I am just letting us know that some little this like this matters and will definitely block our chances and make poeple stop responding to our chat without us knowing reasons.

5. For poeple coming to schools in Kassel, Hessen but have no accommodation yet, a lady with two bedroom appertment wants to let a room out. Any female student coming to Kassel can send me an email. But it will definitely be a temporary stay like 1 or 2 months just to allow the person have a soft landing without stress of accommodation. Then the person can later get her own accommodation easily later because everyone needs a personal address here which is very important.

I wish everybody a beautiful day ahead. Peace!!

Hello house, this is very urgent, crucial and needs clarity. Somebody told me that going to Germany for undergraduate studies(study visa) will not allow me to work(you know how it is in Naija settings where an undergraduate can't combine study n work together). He said, this is a general occurrence in Europe as well. I want to know how true this is? If i am admitted to a German University, can i STUDY and WORK at the same time? Thanks in anticipation

You can study and work at the same time. Don't let anybody who is not in Germany give you fake info

My journey to DE was very smooth and full of experience. My flight with Egypt Air was quite an interesting one. We had layover at Cairo and we were checked into a five star hotel with complementary dinner and breakfast.

On arrival, i was received by someone on this group who is housing and taking me around just to Make sure I have a stress free moment here.

Someone said he funded his B.A form A at Zenith bank. Well, if that is the case I suggest he helps others to fund theirs in the same branch of the bank he did his.

If am not sure of any other banks about their rules on Form A, at least am sure of Zenith bank cuz that was where I was rejected.

Visum finally land yesterday. Giessen, Justus Liebig University.

For those who needed help on Axa Mansard travel insurance and cheap flights to DE. You can PM me so as to link you with the two agents that helped me too.

I received helps when needed and I must reciprocate to others too. Thanks to everyone that assisted me on this thread. God bless you all.

Please who submitted passport and health insurance last week and still expecting to hear from the embassy?

I submitted mine on Tuesday last week, Same day I received AM. I have received call this morning for DHL asking for direction to my house in other to get my persue. I think it's always good to send passport and other document same day one receive AM.

My advice to those paying for B.A it's better to open a domicilary account. Do your exchange at sabo, pay into your account and sent to you blocked account directly. That is if you are using fintiba o. Cuz I don't know of other banks.

My experience while funding my BA indicated that one cannot pay into BA using "form A" at the bank. The bank will say they can only pay into Schools' account as stipulated by CBN.

So it's better to do your own thing in your own way.

I wish everybody best of luck.

Pls who knows best mobile network in Nigeria that charges cheaper rate for calls and data roaming?

Good day house, I have been quite busy lately so I want to use this opportunity to congratulate all those that got their A.M and also I wanna drop a suggestion that is if it does not exist already, I think it will really be nice if there is like a THREAD or WHATS-APP group or both for each of the 16 states in DE so that those already in those states can actually interact which each other, exchange ideas and also help each other in different aspects IF POSSIBLE, so that also those who just got their A.M can locate the particular THREAD or WHATS-APP group of the state he or she is going to so that things will not be too difficult for the individual too settle down. My Nigerian Brothers here made it quite easy for me to settle down. So its just a suggestion if it is fine by majority then maybe I can open one for my state while others can open one for their respective states also and it should just be one group per state to avoid confusion. That is my suggestion and its open to the house for their opinion.

Danke

This is a very good idea. Am in total support and I suggest the group should be created without further delay.

Meanwhile, a special thanks to one of us in Giessen, "Bitcoinomy" by NL name. After the last time he talked about someone who is coming to Giessen that needed help . I quickly contacted him as i am also heading to Giessen and trust me, this man has been so wonderful. He has supplied all the information I needed ahead of my trip. He also promised to help sort out my accomodation problem upon arriver.

Just like you have said. One will always have a safe landing and easily settle down in DE if such person is able to connect with fellow Nigerians who are willing to help over there.

So, my suggestion is that let us open groups either on WhatsApp or NL for each state like you have said so that members on this thread can always have a safe landing in DE.

If i am permitted by "bitcoinomy" i will like to recommend him as a group admin for the students in Giessen. He is such a kind hearted person with good leadership trait.

Danke.

Good evening everyone. Whaooo, just noticed the Part 5 is closed and amazed to see you guys are on Page 79/80 on this Part 6. Congratulations and I wish you guys including myself the very best and I pray all efforts to achieve goals will never be in vain.

Congratulations to those who have their Visum or Visa and to the rest in line, yours too ll come. I was once like you too so calm down. Na turn by turn.

From my church mind, right from Part 5, I noticed someone has been enquiring about accommodation/ general information in Gießen or Giessen ( which ever way you prefer to call It ), I asked the fellow to PM me, he refused. Later I asked when he's coming and what he intends to study, no response. I'm not God but I ll just put my help in my pocket as you have clearly ignored.

Sometimes, when something is offered to us on a platter of Gold, it is ignored and disregarded. Guys, it got bad for me at a point that I slept in the rail station, in open cold coz I had no where to turn to. Just surprised you're stressing yourself on finding help when it was offered to you FREELY at zero cost, if it was not offered to you, that's another case.

Its more easier to get Admission and getting a Job than getting accommodation in Germany!!! Even many of those who have accommodation will not even bother to give you a listening ear nor a open arm or try to help you or offer you a chance to live with them just for a little while. I'm talking of fellow Nigerians. That's what I experienced, very ugly experience.

Going forward, lets all learn to appreciate those who give information and offer support and assistance to us and we should never take it for granted. The information shared here on Nairaland, you guys can't get it anywhere Freely and more detailed. So lets appreciate those who comes here to drop a hint or two for the wellbeing of others in this Race.

Nobody knows it all, you need people to as well guide you even when you get here especially in area of Information or "OT" as we dey call am. For instance, when I came here, I thought I was buying something cheap only to find out that I was buying it 6x - 8x the normal price. Virtually, I was merely wasting highly valuable money!!! All because I had no information and nobody to guide me on where to buy and where not to buy.

Never feel you don't need information, please you ll need it and regard those you ll meet here as Boss. Boss because they have more information than you do if you like it or not. Even those I'm older in Age, I regard them as Boss because they possess more information than I do.
At it all, I wish everyone the Best now and in the Future.

Goodnight

Good afternoon everyone. Pls I have 3 questions to ask.

1.Do we have students WhatsApp forum in Giessen. Am heading there next next month.

2. What are the necessary things one can bring along while coming to DE as regards clothing, food stuff and other valuables. For example, someone once said its better to come along with power attention box which could be 2k here as it could cost up to almost 12k in naira convention over there.

3. Pls how can I get accommodation in Giessen for like a month or two. MY house will not be ready until after a month of my arrival.

I hope you are all doing well with your school and visa applications.... I pray that all your heart desires will be granted!

Do your applications very early because of competition.

And to the people coming to Munich this summer.

Don't hesitate to join the Nigerian scholars in Munich forums, (on WhatsApp if you are sure you have gotten your visa or about to) or on Facebook.. (I think that one is general). Keep in touch with people here already to guide you, probably pick you at the airport, etc.

Don't hesitate to PM me, if you are coming any time soon!

Not at all. I was once denied by US and that didn't affect me.

The V.O saw it that I had been rejected before when he scaned my passport and he asked reason for rejection at US embassy. So, I explained to him. Period.

My statement is quoted below

"infact, if you are not going to Germany for any course related to STEM (Science Technology Engineering and mathematics) then you have a higher probability of not getting any job related to your course" .

I didn't say you have no probability of getting jobs without STEM course. Germany is a technology country and your chances of getting job is higher if you read STEM courses. It doesn't mean if you didn't read a STEM course, you won't get job. But your chances are higher if you have skills majority of the companies need. Like IT skills, engineering, scientific skills etc.
Unless your aim of coming to Germany is to run away from Nigeria hardship, coming here to do Msc in humanities, sociology, enthroplogy and all these useless courses might not readily give you job relevant to your course which guarantees blue card to stay over there after your Msc, that's my point.

For someone like me who is an Art student. My B.A was in English and Literary studies while my chosen M.A is in Aglophone study. Major in "Aglophone Literature, Cultural and Media studies" and Minor in "English Lingustics". I do not have any skill in IT, though am willing to learn one if I can actually grab it. I also plan to learn German before the 2years end.

What other things do you think I can do to improve my chances to get PR after my program.

I was also thinking of switching my studying course to "Hospitality and hotel Management" if that would enable me land a job in my field. Cuz am sure DE is a destination for tourists around the world.

Good morning great people on this thread. This is the first time on featuring here, though, i am on Germany thread. Pls i need some pieces of information ASAP.

On March 26, 2018, i paid for a visa fee which is 64k few days after i was denied a visa alongside 9 other people in my group going for a conference in California,USA. I had to pay for the fee because there was an information then that there would be a review of US visa fee, thinking that the price would increase.

Since then, i have not made use of the visa fee, after almost a year, i have now decided to feel my DS 160 form so as to use the visa fee before 26th of this month which it will expire.

I intend to go for my masters in Germany next month, hence, i will like to pick December as my interview date at the US embassy so that i will have a better chance as regards travel experience.

my Questions:

1.What is the official website of the US embassy so i can fill my DS 160 form?
2.Please what is the current date interview had gotten to?
3.Do i have a better chance this time if i appeared for an interview as a student studying in Germany?
4.I want to register for any available conference which will be my motive of traveling and I will like to fill my form myself using the previous form as template. please what program do you think its good for me. I am an Art student. I read English language and i practice journalism.

Thanks for your response in advance.

Hi guys, I have been very bothered to be honest. I got my AM jan 28th and posted my documents with passport and travel insurance to the embassy since last Wednesday, that’s 9 days now. No dispatch of my documents or any call from dhl. My brother’s own took only two days. I am so worried. I tried tracking and it says Nothing yet like it hasn’t been dispatched. My flight is for next weekend and I have made all arrangements. What could be the problem? Has there been cases like this?

Congrats to everyone getting their AMs. We hope everyone gets to post their interview and AM dates throughout the year and especially once Winter admissions start coming.

So, to learning Deutsch, since that is all I do these days. I've created a group called Nairaland on Duolingo for those who wanna learn German (which I assume is all of us since we need the language to succeed in Germany). To join you can use the code J3FX7M. Duolingo is free and this group is just a fun way to stay competitive as we learn the language, sort of an incentive to keep learning especially for those of not not yet in Deutschland. Joining is pretty straightforward with the code above. If you're confused, google 'how to join a club on Duolingo'.

Ps: 30 days into using the app, I can already form quite a few sentences and have short conversations. As someone said, you have a huge advantage learning the language or at least becoming farmiliar with it before you arrive the country. Happy Learning!

I like to join the club but I can't find where "club" is on my duolingo app

I was skeptical about paying this fee initially because I was was expecting admission decision from other schools but I still went I ahead to pay because I didn't want to take chances.

Now I am worried...

Don't worry, you will be notified by uni-assit and before then you can log-in on your application and check your status it would have reflected. It take like 2 to 3 days for you to receive mail directly from uni-assist

If the person truly paid for you, you will surely be notified by uni-assit. Just chill.i paid mine through a contact in Germany too and it took few days for them to notify me. Paying for your handling fee is the best thing to do. No matter if you have not heard from the school. You can still use the fee to process another admission, if the school gave you a negative answer. I wish you luck ahead
