stonecoldcafe: My opinion is on the type of work being churned today. I remember the last collaboration story that was done, before then, I've never followed one. So this time I said I must follow.
Granted it was mostly by new writers (which in itself is a great thing) but the quality by some of the writers were not good. At some point after I read an update, I paused and began to laugh. I couldn't believe it. It seemed the organizers were more interested in getting the schedule working than helping some of the budding writers.
I took time to point out the glaring errors on a particular post but NOT one person said a thing. I believe if I had not spoken it would have gone on because there was another weak submission before his though not too bad. Corrections were not done and that particular writer didn't say a word! Instead people kept commenting 'that was hot! Thank you' {When a writer is corrected and he says 'yeah, you have a point thanks. He is not only improving himself but helping his readers}
The next update was even worse, it was then I quietly unfollowed the thread. Perhaps they had a meeting place (whatApp) where they chose to correct theirselves, I don't know. What am I saying? We all need to help the writers and writers should be open to correction. That's what the organizers of 'the collaboration work' may want to learn from other competition organizers e.g white mosquito's flash contest. I know the collaboration is not a contest but I bet the aim is to bring out the best in writers.
Perhaps that way, we can help the new crop of writers get better and improve the work we see today. This is not a shot at anyone - thanks. The Pre-Collaboration collaboration was organised with the sole aim of finding nice writers who are not very known in the Literature board. Some are good, and some, not so good. That was the kind of thing that was expected in stuffs like that. Even from there, I was dazzled with brilliance by people like Ruffhandu, Theorbiters, Kinwayne, Stuff46, Thronekid, Simonhabby and some others. Readers who read collaboration works should know that it's not easy; the writers would have to journey down to the depth of their wits to connect likely loose ends and also weave new plots in the process. All writers are equal, we all have voices within us that want to be heard. The only difference is the way we speak out the words. Truly, and evidently, some writers have more potential than others. But I've come across some faulty posts and I knew that I used to write like that, but I got better with time. In like manners, I've come across some other writers' works and I always wished I could write as brilliantly; still, I know I could with time. Most of these writers only need encouragement to get better, but telling them they are the best when they are not is only deception. Let the accomplished writers and critics know that the young writers are humans, too. And all writers should be open to honest criticisms. As far as I'm concerned, we are ALL still learners in this craft. |

kingphilip: Black, still staring at the girl as they walked on, smiled and asked, "What is your name?" "Rhoda Gold."
Black nodded, "Yes, I could have. But I wasn't. All thanks to you. Why did you save me, Lola?"
I think there's a mix up at page 17 chapter TWO-III please do correct or is there something I'm missing Thank you so much, sir. The error has been corrected. God bless you. |

ibolomo: and my predictions have been thwarted... but wait... the now old man in the prologue still called someone to say "you have a grandson". Two probable inferences can be made: 1. Black later had a child by Rhoda, the child grew up and later impregnated Lola. OR 2. Black met another lady that got to make it to the end, had a son, the son grew up and impregnated Lola whichever way, I am following to the end... Nice predictions. Let's see how close you come to it, sir. |

LogoDWhiz: Wow! I knew Larry would twist it.
Lola is now in d picture and it just got clearer. Now I know who is who from the beginning of the first chapter.
And then the story of the TBF.
Ride on LarrySun. Wished Basket didn't die but it had to happen. They could have been an insurmountable force together. I think it just got blurry. Lola is not Rhoda. |

but it's a consolation to know that Lola will make it to the end. Remember the last phrase of the prologue “You have a grandson.” And besides, the prologue mentions a Lola giving birth, so... And in other news: Larrysun refuses to grant my request... BUT I WILL WAIT The bolded is hilarious. |

I'm not a career counsellor, all I can say is that wealth does not really guarantee happiness. But as they say, it is better to cry in a private jet.
The truth is, anything that makes you happy each time you do it will most probably make you successful. If boxing does not make you happy, you may only end up sustaining injuries and constant swelling of the face for nothing.
You said you have a good communication skill and public speaking? Then, you may choose a career in public speaking (provided you enjoy doing it). However, if you have discovered that thing that makes you happy, always aspire to be the best at it.
God bless you, sir. I wish to see you at the top of the ladder someday. |

Good morning to you all. Happy new month.
I'm sorry to say that due to a slight misrepresentation of characters, the name Lola Gold has been changed to Rhoda Gold. It was not intended to confuse this particular character with the one that was delivered of a baby in the Prologue; they are very different from each other.
I'm so sorry for whatever inconvenience this might have caused. Kindly forgive me.
The next update shall be posted soon. God bless you all.
