I'm disappointed by this comment. In all honesty, I was complimenting you. If you'd felt any sarcasm, I would have apologised. But you didn't see the sarcasm, which was not even intended. Now, someone told you something otherwise and you instantly insulted without verifications. That shows how you can easily be misled.

LiteratureRe: Free N5000 For A Writer Here Every Month! Click To See How! by LarrySun(m): 5:47pm On May 22, 2015
D9ty7:
SPEAKING FROM THE DESK OF TRUTH
I don't know if I am the only one that noticed this or somebody else did before me or after reading this. I think this months voting is the worst since the start of this best writer awards almost/over a year ago.
I mean, as it stands as at when this post is being composed, if princesa decides to draw the curtain on this month's edition, the BEST WRITER OF THE MONTH would emerge with ten or more votes, and the BEST NEWCOMER in the same region.
What happened to the days of the best writer polling 90+ votes? What happened to the days of the best writer polling 79votes? Is this monthly award loosing it? I think so.
There were times when the level of competition in this award was very high. Times when a particular writer was leading with 10 votes as at the twentieth day of the month and in the last eight days of the month, another writer overtakes the previous leading writer. Something is wrong somewhere.
When p.rincesa came with this voting tingy last year, I thought it was a good idea and believe me, it was and still is a good idea. As a one time beneficiary of the #5000 and a two times winner of the regular updater of the month, I think this is the best thing that ever happened to the literature section since 2013 that I have been here.
When writers like S.ammyhoe, Temitope.Daniel, Audrey.Timms, D.9ty7, R.oyver, D.ivepen, TheRock.5555, TiffanyJ won this award, the level of competition was very high, then everything took a drastic turn.
THE PROBLEMS
If you check back in the past months, nominated writers don't vote, other writers on the section who have a realistic chance of winning the award don't vote, and you expect readers to vote. *You must either be high on mosquito coil or mango leaves.
For people to vote, the people being voted for should first create awareness. Or are you expecting P.rincesa to go from thread to thread begging people to vote? *you must be high on chilled water if you are expecting that.
The literature section moderators for reasons best known to them unsticky this thread, therefore, on a regular basis, it is being pushed into obscurity. So, anybody going through the section won't see this particualar voting thread and they won't vote. But as a writer, after every post on your story thread, remind your readers that they should vote for you as the best writer of the month. That way, Writer A's readers will vote, writer B's readers will vote too, then thing begin to get better.
SOLUTION
Its a pity that I don't mince words, in fact, I hate to mince words. I don't know what Princesa thinks, I don't know what Divepen1 thinks, but I d9ty7, I think this award should be suspended, put on hold and stopped for sometimes to enable the organisers go back to the drawing board and restrategize while writers and readers dedicate more time to voting.
If a contest such as Miss Nairaland could amass 74pages within a day, I see no reason why this award shouldn't amass such number of pages in a month. I mean, we celebrate looks, but brains, we neglect. We vote some people because they are ugly pretty, but when it comes to voting brilliance, we would be no where near. *We all must be high on dried banana leaves.
I think I should stop here for now before people vex.
Cc: Princesa
Divepen1, Standd, LarrySun, Ciela, Thronekid, Jezuzboi, Losprince, Fembleez1, Kitnah, Kizzykeziah, Royver, Kayemjay, Kingzpen, Oyinprince and several other active writers whose name I don't know or didn't remember.
NB: If you know you are tired of this whole thing, abeg, princesa, dey give me 5k every month.
You're right, sir. I think this month's votes should be summarily suspended until things are back to normal.

CrimeRe: How A Female Boss Was Kidnapped By Her Own Driver In Lagos [photo] by LarrySun(m): 7:58pm On May 21, 2015
Detective Lot: I don't think the driver is innocent.

Daniel Famous: Now what are you talking about?

Detective Lot: What if it was the lady who desired to be kidnapped?

Daniel Famous: With all due respect, sir, I think you're crazy.

Detective Lot: Before you start running your mouth wild, listen to this. What if the lady anonymously threatened the driver? She could have called the man with a strange number and an altered voice, ordering him to kidnap her.

Daniel Famous: Why would she do that? It doesn't make sense.

Detective Lot: She could have coerced the man to kidnap her and make him demand for a large sum of money for ransom. The man would collect the ransom and drop it at a designated place. She, after being released, would go and get the ransom. The money would automatically be hers; a sum of money she would not get if she honestly asked her husband.

Daniel Famous: How would she just coerce the man to do it?

Detective Lot: She could have taken one of the man's daughters hostage.

Daniel Famous: That makes sense, but far-fetched. I think she and the woman could have planned the kidnap.

Detective Lot: Maybe.

TV/MoviesRe: Ten Things Hollywood Does Wrong by LarrySun(m): 9:10pm On May 18, 2015
Ruq:
So it's entertaining to you to watch, what you can most time predict how a movie ends because it's always same stupid plot they follow. Even their big budget movies the likes of Transformers,Iron man, Spiderman, hunger games, this movies were boring as hell and predictable, I guess you're the regular audience, which anything will thrill. As for me very few of the movies they produce have that hold on me to want to continue, I mean every movie is meant to keep you hung on it because you anticipate what will happen next and not predict what will happen, this is happens especially in the action flicks which have a lot of audience. That's why I brought up the silly explosions, because they know when you see a lot of'em you get to think wow this movie is mad.
I thought Transformer 3 was bad until I saw Age of extinction, same thing for F5 until I saw F6.

I don't even watch Nollywood cuz it's worse, Even the hyped ones I mean look at how plotless the overhyped Half of a yellow sun was made I regret wasting minutes to watch that. When I watched Ije(A journey something) I felt like shooting the director or whoever wrote that story, same thing for Mr and Mrs, but some people still feel they make sense. I think Bollywood still tries a lot in giving meaningful plot but of recent they are going western also, and sometimes they just end up remaking a hollywood hit and add little twists.

All I am saying is their movies just don't seem impressing anymore, I mean as a kid when two I see two people fight, cars blowing up, people dieing for no reason, that's enough entertainment for me, overtime you'd want all this to have meaning, look real (as in properly acted because some actors just put you off through the way they act it's either they are over acting or not making it real enough) and see reasons why it happened.

I don't know if you've watched the sequel to 300, that movie was so annoying I rated 1 out of ten and that's because there's no zero.
Wow! You're awesome! We need people like you in the Literature Section. You'll be popular in no time; you'd make a great critic! Can you come over? Please? embarassed
