Lol. Larry, you are more concerned about the man's grammatical dexterity than any other thing. That's why i just love you, because we are so similar cheesy
I love you more, ma'am.

Was he praising or insulting the Yorubas? The so-called Whiteman can't even write in perfect English expressions. This shows that every race has its shortcomings.

larrysun; beautiful as usual and as my new developed habit, I kinda have a end I think wasn't well knotted tongue

why did Sam have those what I feel I should refer to as visions or should I say revelations ?
why did he, why Sam,why not anyone elsehuh?

okay, what if we say sam once had an injury to the head from an accident hence had frequent shocks or got those visions while he was in a coma and had only just remembered or maybe he was from a family of seers, they considered it a gift as they were born with the ability, his grandfather, his father, their fore fathers and now him?

just my own opinion though wink
ok bye
I don't believe you have to come from a family of seers to have a dream. We all dream, and sometimes, some things happen to us in real life that we feel we've somehow experienced before. Deja vu, right? Or is it Jamaise vu?

The theme is just Fantasy; it's totally impossible to receive a phone call from the dream world. Saying Sam comes from a family of seers would be akin to stretching the genre a little bit too broad. The main idea is, weird things happened so that he could find love.

adegwurulez:
i find this initiative laudable but have few reservations. If the criticism is going to be done in another thread away from the original, what guarantees do we have that the writer is going to see it? I've had cases where i get a mention but dont get the notification until another person quotes the first mention. Without the writer seeing that he's been criticised, this place could as well be an avenue for gossips.
Quoting is much more effective than mentioning.

nice piece larrysun
but there are some strings you could've knotted better like why did Anastasia betray Dada?
you can add a twist that she discovered he was cheating on her with a secret lover whom he genuinely love and was just using Anastasia like every other pawn piece and blablablaaaa....just my little cent tho wink

keep the fire burning.
Both Oscar and Dada were only pawns in Anastasia's scheme. She never loved Dada, she just used him to use Oscar. And when he was no more needed, she killed him. Dada was just as expendable as Oscar.

Forgive the loose strings though. My number of words was restricted when I was writing it for competition.

I just feel I should add that writers whose works are criticised shouldn't feel bad about it, its really to help one improve.

I look forward to having my work dissected also.... LarrySun, care to do the honours tongue
Do you really want to be dissected?

Below is one story that needs to be seriously worked on: A Nice Bad Player: Forbidden Pattern. https://www.nairaland.com/2828286/nice-bad-player-forbiden-pattern

oloyolo:
So my days in anambra were quick and exciting I was in the alter boys association but never had the nerve to serve in a real mass that right I was a very shy guy so I didn't even stand a chance when it comes to wooing the opposite sex but my best friend was a different story I don't even know if I should call that guy my best friend because I had so many best friends but this particular one was a bad guy he dates even older girls didn't know how he dose it but I never really asked so as a city boy a good number of girls were struggling to get my attention but I was too shy to make any move so because of my low self esteem I forgort about girls (First and foremost, the use of full stops and other punctuation marks would have given this work more life.)
I just joined the typical village boys and did I tell you I was a sisi boy I culdent play foot ball or any sport nothing was special about me or so I thought. (It's nice to see one punctuation mark here. The writer can do more if he tries.) I spent 2 years in the village before going back to abuja to complete my jss 3 my one year In abuja was also intresing ohh and did I tell u that I was the type who gets into trouble almost every day seriously I was a very complicated human being sha I later moved to lagos to further my senior secondary school and that was the making of a player

LiteratureRe: Revamping Our Dying Literature Section... I Nominate Divepen1 And Llaykorn Mods by LarrySun(m):
I seriously think you guys are just wasting your time. The admins won't listen to you. I think they want the section to rot and ooze slime. This section is a proof of the reading culture that's dying in the nation. The moderators don't give a damn about the Literature Section, the supermods don't...and, hell, Seun doesn't! I've sent him mails concerning this section but they were ignored. What makes you think he would listen to you this time around? This is basically another thread that would be swept under the rug, or damned into obscurity. However, if by some divine means, you are heard, I hope the nominated enthusiasts would show their mettle and recommend sensible topics for front page. We really don't want to soil the reputations of the great forum and the dying wonderful section. I've come across some stories so poorly written that they pose danger to the views of innocent readers.

Writers are advised to write stuff that are really frontpage-worthy. You can't honestly write something that leaves a ridiculous trail of grammatical blunders and still clamour for front page. Let's learn to write carefully.

It's quite a common paradox. It's fitting to be used in motion pictures.
Science/TechnologyRe: Paradoxes by LarrySun(m): 10:37am On Dec 26, 2015
We start dying the moment we are born. The life-giving air we breathe is a poison to our system.

When you get a virus, you get a fever. That's the human body raising its temperature to kill the virus. Planet Earth works the same way. Global warming is the the fever. Mankind is the virus. We're making our planet sick. A cull is our only hope. If we don't reduce our population ourselves, there is only one of two ways this can go. The host kills the virus, or the virus kills the host. Either way, the result is the same. The virus dies.

And still, what do the Scriptures say? We should be fruitful and multiply?

Oluwason:
Same to u Sir. I think I have one too going by the definition of paradox, there is this thought I have had concerning knowledge a long time now. Let me call it the paradox of knowledge.

'The more we study the more we know, the more we know the more we discover we dont know, and the more we discover we dont the more we crave to know, thus we study more to know'.

Which leads to a viscious circle, so technically speaking more study leads to more knowledge which leads to more ignnorance. Smiles.
Beautiful!

Science/TechnologyRe: Paradoxes by LarrySun(m): 12:07pm On Dec 11, 2015
Lol! I'm indeed confused about paradox. Allow me to explain my confusion in my own rather ridiculous way.

What is a Paradox? Let's take note of these definitions of Paradox:

Something (such as a situation) that is made up of two opposite things and that seems impossible but is actually true or possible:

Someone who does two things that seem to be opposite to each other or who has qualities that are opposite:

A statement that seems to say two opposite things but that may be true.

My confusion can be termed a paradox. I'm basically an arsonist and a fireman at the same time.

The purpose of the creation of this thread is to make people understand Paradox. But things have gone so complicated that I lost comprehension. Logically, paradox can be quite confusing; so it may not be wrong to assume that confusion is a basic part of the understanding of paradox. For you to really understand paradox, you have to be confused to a certain degree. Therefore, paradoxically, if you understand paradox, then you don't really understand it since you're not confused. But you understand it if you're confused. Technically, you have to not understand paradox to understand paradox, which is quite paradoxical.

If I say I don't understand Paradox, do I really understand it? I'm confused.

Aren't I the interviewer strapped to a polygraph?

AllNaijaBlogger and Sheikwonder, your arguments are paradoxical. Instead of learning from you, I'm left confused.
