While many Nigerians are clamouring for the resumption of activities as they think that the coronavirus disease is no longer in the country, media mogul Don Jazzy is calling on people to be careful of how they are attended to at the barbing salon.

The music producer took to his official page on Instagram to sound a warning note. Sharing a video clip of him in a salon, Don Jazzy reminded Nigerians of the importance of adhering strictly to the health instructions to avoid the spread of the deadly infection.

According to him, it seems people have forgotten that the world is still battling the coronavirus disease. He noted that the numbers are still going up.


As on Monday, July 6, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said that over 29,000 cases have been confirmed, over 11,000 discharged and over 600 deaths.

“It feels like we are forgetting that the world is still battling Coronavirus. The numbers are still going up. Let’s not make all the sacrifices we have made to be in vain. We must still take precautions," he said.


He added that "one of many precautions that I take is while I cut my hair. If you are going to visit the salon please be careful. Let me know one of the precautions that you also take. Show me with the #COVID-19StopsWith Me."

He said it is much advisable for people to ask their barbers to wash or sanitise their hands before cutting hair.

An emotional video which just surfaced the internet has shown the moment mother and son reunited after 13 years of being separated from each other.

According to reports, the young man has been in prison for 13 years and after he was released, he decided to show up at his parent’s house to surprise his mom.




On seeing him, his mom couldn’t control her emotions as she burst into tears while hugging him tightly.

People present at the scene also cheered the happy mother and son, and joined hands together for them, as they cuddled themselves out of excitement.

A beautiful young lady has unfortunately lost her life, after she was allegedly poisoned by a female friend in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to reports, the deceased who turned a year older some days ago, organized a birthday party for herself, which was graced by her friends and well-wishers.




However, while the birthday party was ongoing, the celebrant who was gifted an iPhone at the party suddenly slumped, threw up for some minutes, before giving up the ghost.

An eyewitness who gave details on the story wrote;


“She was poisoned at her birthday party last night. She was gifted iPhone 11 too..It’s obvious one of the girls she call friends is behind it.


While dancing she slumped and was vomitting then died, it happened in makurdi Benue state. Stupid, envy and jealousy”.

There was commotion today June 19, in Ayobo, Lagos, after a girl was badly injured allegedly by a policeman.



According to eyewitnesses, the police officer was allegedly chasing a motorcyclist in a narrow street in Ayobo, Lagos, when the girl was caught in the middle of the chaos and she was injured.



In a video shared online, the girl is seen bleeding profusely as spectators called her parent on the phone. The girl's blood also formed a pool in the red sand.



An eyewitness, Bakare Kehinde, who shared the story on Instagram wrote: "Igeshu Police Man just wounded an underage trying to pursue a bike man inside a closed street.@Ayobo...Very sad.."



He added: "IGESHU POLICE JUST INJURED AN UNDERAGE GIRL JUST COS HE WAS PURSUING A BIKE MAN...THIS IS SO TERRIFIC AND AN ACT OF INJUSTICE..PLEASE NIGERIANS LETS FIGHT FOR THIS CITIZENS."

A man who sent death threats to Jude Okoye over his recent row with Cynthia Morgan, has been arrested.



The music executive shared a video of the man confessing to the crime while in police custody. The man said he sent the threatening messages after Cynthia Morgan accused Jude Okoye of her career misfortune.


In the messages, he sent to Jude Okoye back in May, the man called Jude a 'career killer' and threatened to eliminate him whenever he sees him in Lagos.

A young man who planned a surprise birthday party for his girlfriend at a hotel in Benin, got the shock of his life after he caught her with another man at the same hotel.

Reports gathered that the girlfriend had asked her boyfriend for money to celebrate her birthday, but he said he had no money and promised to surprise her later.



However, on her birthday, after planning a birthday surprise at a hotel in Benin, he went to her house to pick her up so they can proceed to the hotel, but he met her absence.

Afterwards, he was able to get the location of the hotel she went to after bribing the girl’s mother, only to find her at the hotel with another man.

A young man broke down in tears at Computer village, Ikeja, Lagos after he found out the content of his newly purchased iPhone 7.

The man can be seen in the video crying in the middle of the road as he showed off the garri stuffed inside the iPhone 7 pack.

According to him, he bought it for N20,000. People in the crowd could be heard telling him he is also a thief for buying an iPhone 7 for that amount.

This is not the first time an incident like this has happened.

A video of a policeman dragging a woman tied to his motorcycle along a dirt path in Kuresoi, Kenya has triggered a social media outrage.



The 21-year-old Mercy Cherono who could be heard pleading for her life as she was dragged along the dirt path with a moving motorcycle, was accused of being part of a three-man gang that broke into the house of David Kiprotich, a Deputy OCS at Olenguruone police station while he was away.



Cherono was unable to escape after her alleged gang members made away with Ksh.10,000, police uniform, a TV set and a sub-woofer. It was learnt that she was dragged out of the bathroom she locked herself in by security officers, who then proceeded to beat her up before tying her to the motorcycle. In the video, a man who was cheering the OCS was also seen whipping the woman on the back while she screamed.



She is now being treated at Olenguruone Hospital in Kuresoi South after sustaining injuries to the head, chest and feet.



Reacting to the incident, Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Marcus Ochola stated that it was inhuman and unacceptable. He said he has ordered an investigation on the conduct of the Olenguruone OCS after the video went viral.




Also recounting her ordeal, the mother of one said she doesn't know how she survived the brutal incident which occurred on Saturday June 6.



She told Standard;



" don't know how I survived this. The policeman suspected I was among people who broke into his house and stole the items that Sunday morning. He said I had to be punished as he dragged me around.

"I could not resist. I accompanied him and we joined another group of people that was standing on the roadside."



Cherono added that for the next 200 meters, the officer who was riding the motorbike dragged her along before the crowd intervened.



She added;



"I pleaded for mercy but the officer couldn't hear none of that. All this time I was not aware of the crime I was being punished for."



Area OCPD Henry Nyaranga however claimed that he was informed that Cherono was attacked by a mob and not the police officer. He said investigations into the incident had been launched to establish the actual circumstances that led to her sustaining the injuries.



Nyaranga said;



"Records at the station show that the lady was a victim of mob justice contrary to claims that she was attacked by an officer. The report says she was found stealing from a house belonging to one of my officers."
