I hate the fact that many Yorubas would try to hide the fear of millions of Christians in yorubaland. I would not be politically correct on this issue. I don't hate Muslims and my 2 best friends are Muslim.

I would respond fully tomorrow.

I'm wondering if he isn't the same character behind the "ColonelDrake" account, a Yoruba-speaking Igbo guy thinking he's being clever by using religion as a "divide and conquer" tool against Yorubas. The two accounts have the same strange obsession with religion in a manner that has never mattered in Yoruba politics.

No Yoruba person cared about MKO Abiola being a Muslim, nor did Yoruba Christians flock to Obasanjo in 1999 simply because he was Christian, not even Yoruba Christians from his own Ogun state. The thought that loudmouth buffoons and opportunists like Fayose and FFK have any credibility amongst Yorubas because of their supposed "Christianity" is utterly laughable, and not the sort of thing any real Yoruba person would ever utter out loud: that alone is a giveaway to me that we're dealing with an Igbo who was likely raised in Yorubaland, and who is now using the Yoruba language skills acquired while growing up as a weapon to fool people online into buying his sectarian agenda. Only Igbos take Fayose and FFK the slightest bit seriously.

Alcatraz005, all what you up there is pure and unadulterated balderdash, Yoruba Christians should be worried about the Muslims in our midst, our uncles, aunt, nephew and nieces who are Muslims because Yorubas hold post in various Muslims organizations? You are seriously mad!

Gani Fawehinmi was a Muslim lawyer that stood for the oppressed, he fought Abacha, Babagida, and other Hausa Muslims tyrants that oppressed Nigerians whether be it Muslims or Christians, why didn't he bend over for Abacha to kill Ken Saro Wiwa without opposition?

The same Tinubu you fools are accusing of leading Yoruba to slavery because he fought for a position for us at the federal level was against Abacha's government of oppression during the fiery days of Nadeco. Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a Muslim married to a devout Christian, same goes for Fashola, Saraki and many of our leaders, so you mean they'll close their eyes and let some Fulani overrun Yorubaland because of Islam, better put on a thinking cap.

What about the Muslims in Oke-Ogun that fought Fulani herdsmen to the extent of extinction, so much so that Buhari the grand patron of Miyetti Allah then had to rush down to Ibadan to appease Lam Adeshina against the onslaught of his people

I can go on and on about Yoruba that are Muslims that can and will never allow Islamic domination in Yorubaland.

Don't delve into issues larger then your mental prowess and you sound like an IPOB youth because your opinions are half baked slobbering.

Leave yoruba people alone. They are the least of your problems. Igbos are living peacefully everywhere in the SW. Nobody is killing anybody or making any trouble. Go to churches all over the SW, you see igbo and yoruba people worshipping together, yorubas , igbos, hausas and many other tribes are doing busisness peacefully in SW. No yoruba man is giving you any problem. Even in your SE, yorubas don't make any trouble with you, but instead of you to face your problems or make use of your head to avoid creating any problems at all, you create problems for yourselves and when the result comes out, you blame yorubas. Ya'll need to grow up and stop creating unnecessary enemies for the responsible igbos living peacefully outside the SE. You ipods are so full of senseless envy and hatred.
It is the same Yorubas that are speaking out against the the proscription of IPOB like Falana and Saraki. Where are the Igbo lawyers, SANs, retired judges? Why are they quiet?

The only problem I've with some Yoruba monikers is their political correctness in matters related to foes that would ridicule Yorubas if Yorubas are unfortunate to be in their shoes. This is exactly what the Hausa's had gotten right.
See bros - I get you! cheesy But my point is this: Isn't it ironic that it is lawyers from the tribe that the IPOBs love to hate, that are now the one with the courage to speak out against the army, saying that the proscription is wrong and objecting against the actions that have been taken so far against IPOB? undecided Take note: none of the IPOB crew have chanted their usual 'Afonja' refrain against Saraki, simply because his stand seems to support their own position. Yet, the same IPOB crew will make a 360 degree turn tomorrow, to lampoon the man if he takes a different decision that does not favour them, no matter how correct, principled and truthful it may be! sad Like I asked before why are the prominent Igbo lawyers, SANs, retired judges keeping quiet over Kanu's matter? huh

In my own view, Kanu should be left alone (by people from other ethnic groups he has vilified) to carry his cross, and bear the repercussions of his actions and hate speeches! angry

LordAdam:
In June 2013, GEJ rightly declared Boko Haram and Ansaru as terrorist organizations.

But unlike the military did with IPOB, GEJ did not pull that pronouncement out of his hat.

It was based on an Order of the Federal High Court Abuja.

The proscription was pursuant to Section 2 of the TPA.

Furthermore, Section 9 of the TPA does not "makes express approval for the executive arm to immediately declare a group as a Terrorist group," as Cacawa2 wrongly asserted. Only Section 2 accords that authority. Section 9 clearly pertains to an individual rather than an organization.

Nigeria is no longer under military rule, so it is tantamount to usurping of powers for the Nigerian Army to unilaterally declare an organization a terrorist organization, and should be roundly condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians.

IPOB remains a lawful organization until a case calling for its proscription as a terrorist group is filed by the Attorney General of the Federation and a court of competent jurisdiction gives requisite order. Until then, the proclamation by the Nigerian Army is unconstitutional, illegal, and an affront to the rule of law.

-Lord
Where are those Yoruba chaps on NL? Come and see what is happening. One of your people that the ipob crew normally call Afonja is now the one supporting IPOB and telling the world that the proscription was wrong. How ironic! Wonders shall never cease!

It will be better if you keep things in the right perspective, I read where Femi falana was analyzing the constitutionality of deploying the soldiers and he cited section 217 sub section 2c of the constitution which authorized the President to deploy the military in such regards to aid the civil authority, police in this case, the question folks like you should ask is; at what point is the police legitimately overwhelmed?

When they are all dead? when all their cars and stations are torched? how many police officers are posted to Abia state command? now compare with the population of IPOB? bear in mind that IPOB is a highly mobile group that can mobilize fighters in a matter of hours from other parts of the south east. Does the ratio conform to 1:3 directive on community policing? If the answer to all these concerns are NO then section 217 sub section 2c is activated at least that is what a sane head of state will do unlike the nematode we used to have in Aso rock.

This is the problem I see here, Nigerians have gotten used to the former feminist madam Jonathan, they have no clue what it feels like having a proper male president, they are so ignorant of everything except noise, imagine a man holding bottles and clubs in a protest calls himself an unarmed protester, that is the level of stup!dity we are dealing with in this country.
IPOB organises riots and calls it protest, how do you teach an artisan what a protest yellow line and right of way is? some of them seized the opportunity to burgle shops.

Believe me when I tell you this generation is finished!!
Again you nailed it! I may disagree with you on a few occasions, but this point you made here was just too much. Thank you for this beautiful analysis. Great job!

It has no legal foundation or roots, just a comment and not binding.

Let them pass law to ban IPOB.

It is unconstitutional to do so, until IPOB start killing Nigerians which they have so far not done.

If u ban IPOB, who will ban Islamic State and Boko Haram?

That statement is an illegality in itself as the Governor Forum has no constitutional power to ban freedom of association, freedom of speech and Right to assemble. These are core values enshrined in the Nigeria constitution. Even the Law Courts said IPOB was not an Unlawful organisation.

IPOB has a right to self determination within the confines of law as enshrined in the United Nation Declaration of Human Rights.

Y have dey not jail Nnamdi Kanu, if he and IPOB were so illegal.

This is wat my legal studies tell me.(just saying so dont attack me, i dont support IPOB)
You chaps make me laugh sometimes. Why? huh Because the govt can ban any organisation, as long as it is deemed that such an organisation constitutes a security threat. Each time you chaps quote the United Nation Declaration of Human Rights, as the basis for your self-determination, you forget to also note the aspect of international law that recognises the sovereignty of states, and supports the principle that those states have a right to guard their territorial borders. undecided Conversely international law also notes that imposition by force of a border change, is an act of aggression. IPOB agitations, could be interpreted as an attempt to force a border change within Nigeria (i.e. because of their demand to carve Biafra out of Nigeria -something which would change Nigeria' borders), and that is enough to be regarded as an act of aggression.

These idle youths think the issue of secession is what they can handle with their childish mentality.

I remember these same IPOB youths bragging of the power they have cos of the concoction they were cooked in as initiation for recruitment, and allowance of 30k per month.

In Ebonyi State, they were misbehaving to the soldiers, Nnamdi Kanu leading the rally and disobeying the army's command. They were hailing him while he faced the army and telling them to shoot him.
At Ishi Gate in Umuahia, an IPOB youth had an encounter with a soldier, dispossessed him of his gun, wounded him and chest beating on his achievement.

They thought they achieved these by the manifestation of the concoction they were cooked in, not knowing that the python was only solemn and calm cos it hasn't been ordered to dance.

Now that the python is on the dance floor, where is the director?
Where is the effect of the concoction on the python?
