OrdercityWeb:Oga, stop generalising. You have NOT visited the homes of every couple or family, that has an inter-tribal or inter-ethnic marriage. I know families where both parents are from the same tribe, yet their kids speak only English, especially in the West. I have also seen families whose parents come from different ethnic groups, yet the children speak the different languages of both parents, perfectly. It all depends on what you teach your kids. OrdercityWeb:You also need to apply clear reasoning and logic to your own thought processes. A tribalistic person would hardly ever (in fact, probably never even consider the thought!) marry outside his tribe. In fact, most tribalistic people consider 'ethnicity' or 'tribal similarities or differences,' as a major factor, in their selection of a spouse. A person who freely and willingly marries from a different tribe, is unlikely to be tribalistic, as such tribal differences are not likely to have played a major part in his choice of a spouse. ![]() OrdercityWeb:Again, you are wrong. Go and check! Talk to those who have experienced it. |
tintingz:Your post make sense, die!! I no know say you sef see am! I read the crap the OP wrote, and I almost puked! |
OrdercityWeb:You wrote this uncultured piece of balderdash? And you claim to be educated??! ![]() |
djon78:Oga, Standard Bank/Stanbic bank, is quite different from Standard Chartered Bank. Do your research! ![]() |
kn23h:Er, no.... I haven't done anything about the categorisation. I just made the suggestion. I wanted everyone to debate it, and offer their own insights and solutions... |

It has been a tough week for him, as he divides his time between Uyo and Lagos, where he also doubles up as the Chief Medical Director of a state-of-the-art medical center, in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. Explaining things in a way that our viewers will understand, he defines hypertension using the pipes analogy. It’s one I have heard before; it works every time. Too much water pressure will destroy pipes – so goes blood pressure and the heart. The double load of communicable and non-communicable diseases, also ends up affecting the heart. Over fifty percent of the Nigerian adult population suffer from hypertension. He spent 15 years with ExxonMobil’s Nigerian affiliate, Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN), before retiring in 2006 as a Senior Corporate Executive in charge of Government & Business Relations and Head of Abuja Office. Dayo Ojo was also responsible for setting up the Government Relations department of Mobil Producing Nigeria in 1996. Later, he was appointed a Vice President in Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (TRANSCORP) where he set up the Corporate Relations department. From there, he decided to birth the Caritas Group, and then established City FM 105.1 radio station in 2012. But those who know Dayo Ojo are quite aware that he doesn't do things by halves. In order to put the station on a firm footing, he searched for a sharp accountant with a media background, to run the station. And so, he found Adedoja Allen, the pretty stylish fashionista with an intelligent focused perspective, whose hardwork has made City 105.1 FM radio station, a force to be reckoned with, in the media world. 'Doja Allen brought in a lot of changes in personnel and administration, which won the hearts of many individuals and corporate organizations, who now see the radio station as a good business to partner with, in their bid to capture the hearts of Lagosians. https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Doja-Allen-25.jpg https://city1051fm.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_20150324_073415-300x300.jpg https://www.sunnewsonline.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Adedoja-Allen-300x300.jpg Doja Allen won the City People’s Award for Excellence as the “BEST FEMALE CEO” of the year in 2015. Prior to that, in 2014 City FM 105.1 has bagged 4 awards, within a space of 3 weeks, giving credence to the assertion that hard work truly pays off. These awards include the Nigeria Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA), for the Best Radio Station in Lagos which was given to the City FM in recognition of their service delivery and strong listenership. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF9e0v3ag88 She studied Mathematics at the University of Ibadan. She later proceeded to the United Kingdom for her Master’s degree in Business and Information Technology at Aston University, Birmingham. 'Doja Allen then worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), as an accountant and Telecoms Express in the UK. On her return to Nigeria in 2007, she worked with Asset & Resource Management Company (ARM) where she headed the Fund Account Unit, before taking up the job of the Managing Director of City FM in 2010. They are quite wrong, as the company sources all its marble and granite from local sources and quarry companies in Nigeria. It only uses well-cut locally mined stones, for all its' work. https://www.goshenmarble.com/images/welcome.png https://www.goshenmarble.com/images/marble/goshen-spray-granite.jpg https://www.goshenmarble.com/images/technology.png https://www.goshenmarble.com/images/marble/goshen-flex.jpg In order to build affordable houses, government should encourage and patronise local manufacturing of building finishing products such as ceramics, porcelain, marble, furniture, etc which are currently being imported. This will, in addition, save scarce foreign exchange, boost employment and increase GDP among others. One company already producing cultured marble locally is Goshen-Multi Nig. Ltd., whose products compete neck-to-neck with foreign ones. Such should be encouraged through appropriate funding to encourage self-reliance in the building industry.https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/10/09/nigeria-needs-17-20m-housing-units/ |
GoldNiagara:We had profiled them much earlier. Mojec was featured on page 68, page 122 and has now been featured again on page 271. ![]() Another meter company, Momas Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company Limited (MEMCOL) owned by Chief Balogun was also featured on page 159. There are just 5 meter manufacturing companies that are still active today, in Nigeria. The remaining ones have gone under or are yet to start operations. And the owners of 2 of the largest firms in this sector, come from the Southwest. ![]() There is even a 3rd one, Unistar Hi-Tech System Limited, which is said to be a company jointly owned by a China-based company and former President Olusegun Obasanjo. They got a billion dollar contract from the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), for the manufacture and supply of prepaid energy metres, in the country. Nothing has been heard about them till now. They seem to have been embroiled in a scandal of some sort.

veraponpo:She is a full blooded Yoruba person, jare. Her mother started business at Oke Arin on Lagos Island, before venturing into the supply of equipment to the old PHCN. Her mum is Mrs. Aliratu Moji Abdul, and she actually started trading using the business name - Mojec. She teamed up with some Asian company, to set up her meter manufacturing firm. Her daughter Olubunmi Abdul was sent abroad to study, but by the time the girl came back she had acquired not just a foreign accent, but also a funny French-sounding name - Chantelle. And so she started calling herself Chantelle Olubunmi Abdul. All na packaging... ![]() |
BabaRamota1980:Thank you, o jare! You talk am well! ![]() |
BiafranBushBoy:Wait first....I missed this part. Who are your slaves? Have you taken a good look at yourself and your people lately, who keep trooping into Lagos as if it is their own mecca? So that is why you need to pay homage to Lagosians, because without the blessing of their land, you would all be reduced to nothing! ![]() |
okasebe:Nice suggestion, but how do we implement it? We have listed so many different businesses in no particular order in this thread, so how do we go back and regroup such firms into separate pages? How do we move them from their present locations on this thread, and regroup them into a separate location, or insert them into an earlier page? Can pages be moved or rearranged within a thread on NL? Is that even possible? ![]() Then we have also had to battle with the annoying spambot that knocks posters out of the thread for long periods of time. It really slows down a lot of stuff we can put up at any particular point in time. ![]() I think the best way to go about it, is to have a contents page or an index page on the last page of the thread, so that businesses can be classified into groups with their corresponding page numbers inserted as a hyperlink, so that readers can locate them easily. As for entertainers, actors, actresses etc, we had earlier agreed to set up a separate thread for them, as they are so many. A few had been featured on this thread, but we decided to stop, when it was starting to distract us from the objective of the whole exercise.Historical figures would also be profiled on a separate thread too, so that people can do justice to the facts and info that is available on such legends. Hope this makes sense. ![]() |

When Segun Kuti-George set up Goshen-Multi Nigeria Limited, all he wanted to do was just to trade in building materials and supply construction equipment. But things changed and a few years down the line, he found himself working with a team of talented artisans, to create beautiful pieces of kitchen furniture, from marble and granite. Since then, he hasn't looked back. https://media.licdn.com/mpr/mpr/shrinknp_200_200/p/4/005/08f/1b3/0c3a636.jpg Today, he crafts elegant, polished, customised kitchen cabinets and units, in a variety of colours, that add beauty to various homes. When we talk about appropriate funding, we are talking about single digit interest loans,” he added. |

How many dual carriageways, flyovers, bridges, or world-class institutions are in that town? Oga, please stop comparing apples and tomatoes in this place, biko! And what 'yeye privileges are you talking about? Lagos was denied its statutory allocations under OBJ for a few years. Yet it survived. The capital was taken away from Lagos and moved to Abuja, many years ago, yet it survived. Lagos govt goes out of its way to attract new businesses, and investors into the city. What have your own state govts done to attract such similar investments? Instead of thinking out of the box, your leaders flock to Abuja to beg for statutory allocations, and then buy homes in the same Lagos, Abuja or London and Dubai in order to live big, instead of developing their states. ![]() |

Wait first, are you sure you are not related to any of my family members, sef?
You have NOT visited the homes of every couple or family, that has an inter-tribal or inter-ethnic marriage. I know families where both parents are from the same tribe, yet their kids speak only English, especially in the West.
I have also seen families whose parents come from different ethnic groups, yet the children speak the different languages of both parents, perfectly. It all depends on what you teach your kids.
Go and check! Talk to those who have experienced it.
