GrandGarcon:Why should I prove you wrong? Was the creation of states, not preceded by the unitary system of govt? Gowon created the states to checkmate Ojukwu's secession plan. Period. If you disagree with what the OP wrote, list your facts and figures to show areas where he erred. Throwing tantrums like a toddler and engaging in name calling, makes you look like an unhinged case. ![]() |
GrandGarcon:Sorry chief. You are the only pathological liar on this thread. We all know your type. |
kn23h:Forgive me, bro.' Next time, it won't happen like dat. ![]() |
GrandGarcon:Nah! You are the Commander-in-Chief of revisionists. Have you forgotten so soon? Stop throwing tantrums like a kid in kindergarten. |
LUGBE:What hatred? Because he told the truth? And you would rather believe in a lie, or propagate a myth?
|
kn23h:Bros, I was so busy partying, that it didn't even occur to me to collect takeaway! Ijesa pounded yam is quite different from the ones served in Lagos. More tasty! |
Dr. Bolanle Olawale Babalakin (SAN), is first & foremost - a businessman; and secondly, a lawyer. Or is it the other way round? He combines his love for the law, with his thriving construction firms. He is the son of a highly respected and distinguished jurist, Justice Bolarinwa Oyegoke Babalakin, a former Justice of the Supreme Court. Wale studied law at the university of Lagos, before proceeding to Cambridge University for his Masters' degree and Ph.D. Wale Babalakin is also the founder of a prestigious law firm called Wale Babalakin and Co., where he holds sway as the Principal Partner. He owns construction firms such as Bi-Courtney Limited, Stabilini Visinoni Limited and Resort International Limited. After making big returns in the real estate market, from his ownership of a few high rise buildings in Abuja and Lagos, Babalakin applied for the concessioning of the Lagos Domestic Airport, (now known as the Murtala Mohammed Airport 2), after the airport was razed by fire. The application was made through his company, Bi-Courtney Limited. It was the first time such an edifice would be contracted out to a private firm, under a PPP arrangement. Nobody gave the project a chance, as it was considered too cumbersome for the capacity of a private company. In a country with an acknowledged huge infrastructure deficit, the company is a frontline player in Infrastructure Development and Maintenance, with a record of delivering the first major Private-Public Partnership (PPP)-financed infrastructure in the Aviation Industry. Within three years of the concessioning however, and in the face of serious hostility and inconsistency on the part of the government, Bi-Courtney Limited completed the new domestic airport, now famously known as MMA2, which has been variously described as the best airport in Nigeria today, and definitely the first airport terminal to be built in Africa with private funds without any support from the government.Babalakin has decided to concentrate on his other companies such as Homan Engineering Limited, Bi-Courtney Highway Services Limited, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, Resort International Limited and Amalgamated Estates Limited, in order to keep playing in the big league. Dr. Babalakin’s law firm also engages in the publishing of Law Reports. In 2009, the owners of Nigeria’s first privately published Law Report, Optimum Law Publishers, assigned their rights and interest in the Law Report to Babalakin and Co.

Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja is a businessman who later went into politics, and ended up becoming governor of Oyo State in Nigeria. But very few people realise that he is a business mogul, whose net worth runs into multi-millions in foreign currency. He attended Ibadan Boys High School, and Olivet Baptist High School before getting a first degree in Chemical Engineering, from University of Liège, Belgium in 1972. He worked with Total Nigeria, an oil company, for 13 years before going into private business in 1985. His business interests include Shipping, Manufacturing, Banking, Agriculture and Transportation. He was elected to the Senate of Nigeria in 1993 during the short-lived Nigerian Third Republic. He is not just an engineer, but also a farmer whose food crops are sold not only to the people of Oyo State but also beyond. His lifestyle is very simple, and those who know him say he dresses like a peasant farmer most of the time. Ladoja admitted that people called him Baba Alankara due to his choice of Ankara outfit. He says: "I saw the sense in what he said, and I decided to stick to my wearing of Ankara manufactured in Nigeria. “But all along, dressing so gorgeously does not really make you a big or important person. I feel more comfortable dressing the simple way I do.” Ladoja started business with a fleet of ships. His first company was called Real Shipping Limited, and it pioneered the building of ships specifically for projects. The firm collaborated with a Norwegian company, to build ships for the Warri topography. Later Ladoja and his friend Babule got annoyed with their banker and decided to float a bank. That was how they started the old Crystal Bank of Africa, which later on became Standard Trust Bank, before its merger with the United Bank for Africa (UBA). http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/01/mystery-world-ladoja-billions/ Sadly, his foray into politics was not as successful, as his entry into the business world. He was elected as a Senator in 2003, and later won the governorship election in oyo State. Unfortunately his tenure saw him going through a lot of political skirmishes from all sides. He was later impeached, only to later survive an encounter with EFCC, before being released to go back into the business world. He has not looked back since then. In 2014, his daughter Bolatito Ladoja got married to Bez Idakula the musician. In 2016, the couple made Rashidi Ladoja a proud grandfather, when their child was born. After primary education, I went to the Ibadan Boys High School, where we were 30 pupils in a classroom, and the entrance examination very competitive. I remember an incident. I went to my father and told him some parents brought their children in their cars to write the entrance examination and that the parents went to speak with the principal after the examination.

Chief Timothy Adeola Odutola (1902-1995), OBE, CFR, CON, the late Ogbeni-Oja of Ijebu-Ode was a prominent Nigerian businessman. He was one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian indigenous entrepreneurship, and the first president of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. He was also an industrialist, who was ahead of his time. An alumni of Ijebu Ode Grammar School, he studied under the principal, Rev Oladotun Ransome-Kuti, father of late Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, Nigeria's former Minister of Health, and Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, the Nigerian Afrobeat king. Chief Adeola Odutola set up Odutola Tyres & Rubber Company, Odutola Nigeria Industry Limited, Odutola Food Industries, the 2,000 hectares Adeola Farm Estates etc. Before his death, he merged all the companies into one firm - Adeola Odutola Industries Limited Sadly, at the time of his death, the machinery for the rubber factory had become obsolete, and the industrialist died, before plans could be concluded to change them. Dunlop Nigeria Plc, makers of Dunlop Tyres actually depended on Odutola's company in Ibadan, for the supply of carbon black which was a valuable input used for manufacturing its' tyres. When Dunlop wound up its' operations in Nigeria, Odutola's company followed suit. In his will, the late Odutola distributed 65% of the shares of his holding company to his children, and left the remaining 35% to trustees of his estate to administer his holdings. Those shares were later used to set up the Adeola Odutola Foundation, 17 years after his death in 2012. The first Voluntary Agency-Owned Comprehensive High School in the Western Region of Nigeria was established in December 8, 1965. It was named Adeola Odutola Comprehensive College (a merger of The Secondary Commercial College and Olu Iwa College) to honour him. Adeola Odutola , was one of the first African Entrepreneurs to be featured in the Time Magazine.http://authenticgist..com.ng/2015/10/aaas-our-early-entrepreneurs.html For over eight decades, Adeola Odutola remained a luminous presence in business, trade, politics and education. Together with Dantata and Sir Louis Ojukwu, father of the former Biafran rebel leader, Odutola belonged to the first generation of Nigerian industrialists. His business empire was vast, and he lived long enough to have been part of all the significant moments in Nigerian history in the 20th century. He was a pathfinder, a product of his time – and a marvelous product at that. He had what could be called old money. Chief Jimoh Odutola (1905-2010) his younger brother, was also a successful businessman. While Adeola was literate and a Christian, Jimoh, though not literate, was a self-trained man and till his death, spoke impeccable English and wrote like a Professor. He was a Muslim. Their father was a Muslim, whilst their mother-Sabainah, was a Christian. He thereafter entered Cocoa and Palm trading business and started exporting the produce and products to the United Kingdom. He also ventured into Sawmill and Gold mining at Ilesha and he was a major agent for John Holt in Nigeria.http://authenticgist..com.ng/2015/10/aaas-our-early-entrepreneurs.html

Suddenly, the 200MB people used to buy for =N=200, was cut down to 150MB. Trust Naija people as they started swearing for them. Anyway, e no concern me dat time sha, as I dey always buy 5GB. ![]() |
Goahead:We do not use propane for domestic purposes in Nigeria. We use butane. Our cylinders are type rated for butane. it is not true that only special bullets can pierce through the cylinder shell. A cylinder can explode or leak at anytime, if the valve is faulty, or if it has been overfilled, and internal pressure of the gas rises above a certain limit, or even if the cylinder is rusty. Please be guided. |
ELKHALIFAISIS:EKEDC claims they do not have pre-paid meters for now. |
Abdgafarplenty:Chai!! |
ELKHALIFAISIS:This has nothing to do with Buhari. It was Jonathan that privatised NEPA. You should go to Lagos Island, especially Lekki, Ikate, Osapa, Agungi, Ikota, VGC etc., areas all the way to Ajah. These areas are located under Eko Disco. You will see monthly bills starting from =N=25,000 to even =N=60,000. Some even record higher than that! Only God can deliver us from these stupid Discos. At least in the days of NEPA, there was no light, but they hardly inflicted such exorbitant estimated bills on the residents. ![]() |
Abdgafarplenty:So why did the child go to Nairobi & Lome, instead of transiting through another city in the US? ![]() |
Abdgafarplenty:Yes. Texas to New York. But I have not been to South Dakota. |
I stopped watching Zee World after the rubbish way they ended Reach for the Stars, and King of Hearts. I mean how could they have just killed off the 2 lead characters, (i.e. Roshni & Siddarth) in one blow like that? Are they trying to prove that evil triumphs over good? And the person who did the horrible deed was never caught. The show just ended abruptly. Raw-b-bbish! ![]() Look at Reach for the Stars,, too. They ended it in a similar lousy manner. Immediately after they replaced the original Kalpana, who was the lead actress, the storyline got distorted. Then the new girl playing Kalpana decided to have amnesia. That amnesia angle is just too overused in these Indian serials. Why? And at the end of the day, they did one rush-rush, 'kpa-kpa-kpa' wedding between Raghav and the new strange-looking Kalpana, without him even divorcing Pakhi. The Kapoors were never really punished for their crimes, and Pakhi literally got away with attempted murder! What kind of a lousy ending is that? As for Twist of Hearts, the scriptwriters have been covering up the truth about Tanu's fake pregnancy over and over again, for several months! Haba! Me, I have stopped watching Zee World. Their programmes have left a nasty taste in my mouth. I have changed the channel. Permanently!! ![]() |
aniyphil:4 years old??! If you had said 10, 12 or 14 years old, it would have been better. But to let a 4 year old travel alone on an international flight, from a Nigerian airport? ![]() |
Abdgafarplenty:Which kind of wakabout journey be dat one? Is it a molue airline? Couldn't he have taken a connecting flight from South Dakota to Los Angeles? Just asking..... |
