How do u know?Pls stop telling lies on social media. In Yoruba land agbero is an occupation.Yorubas still v agberos of 50yrs to 60 yrs.Go to Isale eko, mushin around olorushogo. Its ur trade.
I saw all d rubbish u posted as what yorubas manufacture. You v ended up messing and insulting the yorubas.Because ppl dont comment much, u think they will take ur gullible info or data. You were busy posting one pair of shoe and a sheet of roof as compared to what the Igbos produce. The problem is that u will end up decieving ur own ppl than the Igbos.
Ah, so this thread about Yoruba businessmen caused you so much pain!! Ndo. sad Here take one panadol and get better fast.

Politics › Re: Igbos Most Industrious, Innovative and Richest Tribe In Africa see proof by laudate:
FKO81:
Adding those two companies was an error, Hypocrisy
these are the companies claimed by you owned by Yorubas

1 Intafact beverages owned by Sab miller, Next international and Anambra state

2 Gatwick International Airport London The airport is owned and operated by Gatwick Airport Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ivy Holdco Limited. Ivy Holdco is, in turn, owned by a consortium of companies, which has changed over time

3 Vigeo group owned by Vigeo Eiris a french man

4 Gibraltar constructions is owned by Australian man

5 Persianas group

6 Fairgate group limited Owned by Continental Holdings Sa (Luxembourg)

And so many lies in you industry-less thread even Skyy vodka grin grin
Do you know your problem? A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. You are working based on half knowledge, and twisting the facts to suit your preconceived ideology.

1). Are you aware that a locally established company might have a name that sounds similar to a foreign company? Vigeo Nigeria Limited (a subsidiary of Vigeo Holdings) is a local 100% Nigerian company established by Victor Gbolade Osibodu. It is located on Osborne Road, Ikoyi in Lagos. It is totally different from Vigeo-Eiris International Company which is based in Paris and offers environmental, social and governance (ESG) research to investors worldwide. Can you see your error? shocked Please check the web and do your research, as this is common knowledge.
Mr. Victor Gbolade Osibodu, MFR serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vigeo Limited. Mr. Osibodu established Vigeo Limited. Prior to Vigeo Limited, his career spanned through the Nigerian Navy, the Boots Company Limited and Bodnat International. He serves as the Chairman of the Vigeo Group, the parent company to the 5 arms of the business; Vigeo Capital, Vigeo Oil & Gas, Vigeo Shipping, Power and Marketing & Distribution. He serves as a Director of Dorman Long Engineering Limited. He serves as a Director of UTC Nigeria Plc. He served as Chairman of Mansard Insurance Plc (also known as Guaranty Trust Assurance PLC and AXA Mansard Insurance Plc) until May 13, 2016. http://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/people/person.asp?personId=30762754&privcapId=30833041
Now this excerpt is from Bloomberg International, a leading international financial information group. Do you think Bloomberg too is lying about Vigeo being owned by a Yoruba man called Victor Gbolade Osibodu? shocked

2). Now Persianas Group is also a wholly Nigerian property investment company which was established here in Nigeria by Tayo Amusan. this information is in public domain. No foreigner has ever come out to say that they are the owners of Persianas Group. So only God knows what your problem is. This issue was debated extensively on the other thread, yet you are still rambling on about it. Okay, o!
With more than 25 years of experience doing business in Nigeria, mainly in the real estate sector, Tayo founded Persianas and has been instrumental in its growth and continued success since then. He serves on the board of several Nigerian companies including African Paints Nigeria Limited and is also the Chairman of Resourcery Limited. http://www.persianasgroup.com/about-us/
3). Intafact beverages - Nobody has ever claimed that a Yoruba man owns Intafact Beverages. Please show me who said it, and where it was said. The point made on the other thread was that a Yoruba man established and owns International Breweries in Ilesa, Osun state. He then sold part of it to a German company, and that German company asked SAB Miller to manage the operations of the Ilesa brewery. Now, tell me, was it Intafact beverages/SAB Miller that established International Breweries in Ilesa? The link to the article was also provided in that thread. So why do you persist in recycling falsehood?? huh

4). Fairgate Group is owned by Chief Bode Akindele. The facts and details about his ownership of the Group was clearly spelt out in the other thread. There is no point repeating it here. Please go there and read it. In fact a British newspaper The Telegraph, put Chief Bode Akindele's estimated networth at $1.19 billion USD.
According to Ventures Africa, there are a large number of African billionaires on its list whose fortunes have never been accurately calculated before including: Strive Masiyiwa (Zimbabwe, $1.46 billion); Abdulsamad Rabiu (Nigeria, $1.4 billion); Aziz Akhannouch (Morocco, $1.39 billion); and Bode Akindele (Nigeria, $1.19 billion). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/journalists/rebecca-burn-callander/10361675/Africa-boasts-55-billionaires-from-10-countries.html
5). As for Bayo Ogunlesi who is the founder of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), the whole thing was also carefully explained to you in the other thread. Bayo set up GIP in conjunction with 2 others. They put together the funds to buy over the largest shares of Gatwick Airport, and effectively became the new owners. In fact, Ivy Holdco was set up as a tax/investment vehicle through which the funds for Gatwick Airport were disbursed. Oga, this info. is on the web. Kindly do your research.

6). Gibraltar Construction Nigeria Limited is owned lock, stock and barrel by Olu Okeowo. If there is another Gibraltar Construction in America or in Australia that is owned by foreigners, it bears no connection to the one set up locally in Nigeria. Can you understand this, or is it too difficult for you to grasp?? shocked huh

When Michael Oyebanjo Paul (popularly called M. O. Paul) founder and MD/CEO of Mopson Pharmaceuticals Limited, set up his company to manufacture drugs and healthcare supplements in the 90s, no one realised it was because he had a passion to make drugs more effective and more affordable for the ordinary Nigerian. He embarked on drug compounding, and eventually local drug manufacturing, at a time many Nigerians seemed to prefer imported drugs or drugs produced by multinationals.

"Right from my time at the pharmacy school in the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), I had always believed that Nigerian pharmacists could do whatever pharmacists from other parts of the world were doing. This was because we had the same quality training that pharmacists from Britain were having at that time.

Our lecturers, Prof. Becket – who wrote the book Becket and Sterling -, Prof. El-Said, and others had written books that were being acclaimed internationally on Pharmacy. So, having learnt from them, I believed anything that could be manufactured anywhere in the world could also be produced in Nigeria.

I must say that while we were at University of Ife as students, there was a great emphasis on compounding. One of our professors, Prof. Nasipuri, encouraged us to do compounding and even then we produced ointments, suspensions and powder.

That experience as a student was great and when I got to General Hospital, Port Harcourt for my internship, the hospital also encouraged compounding. It is also interesting to note that most of the university teaching hospitals springing up around that time had compounding units.

Therefore, when I was doing my internship at the hospital in Port Harcourt, I decided to show serious interest in compounding (I didn’t like the task of dispensing at the counter).

And because I showed interest in compounding, I was placed in charge of it at the hospital and I was able to see and learn about many preparations in the British Pharmaceutical Codex (BPC) and doctors liked what we compounded. They are called extemporaneous dispensing and the fact that doctors liked them was an encouragement." http://www.pharmanewsonline.com/how-i-pioneered-indigenous-drug-manufacturing-in-nigeria-m-o-paul/
After Michael Oyebanjo Paul left Port-Harcourt, he worked with May & Baker and later joined Vitabiotics around 1978, just as Vitabiotics started. It was a small unit and their manufacturing operations were carried out, under stringent methods in a flat.

He learnt a lot from Vitabiotics, because it was an industrial pharmaceutical manufacturer, and industrial formulations were different from the extemporaneous compounding that he had been engaged in, prior to that time.

After working with Vitabiotics for about five years, he left to start Mopson. He acquired analytical equipment, such as the HPSC single beam UV scan that can be used for analysis. In fact, University of Lagos was using his equipment for research analysis.

Today, his pharmaceutical firm Mopson, is a leader in the industry. Within their factory in Lagos, they manufacture Abscorbion C 300, Mismag, Supermag, Micpol paracetamol suspension, Acilox Ampicillin, and Cloxacillin capsules, and a long list of other products. At Mopson, their employees include not just pharmacists and industrial chemists, but also marketers, drivers, microbiologists, engineers, accountants and people from many other disciplines, aside Pharmacy.

I live in Lagos and seimg is believing from Ipodo Ikeja to iyana Ipaja to iyana school then Oshodi , obalende and even ketu all the alaye are from Yoruba

So if Yoruba owns these phantom firms,,,,why do we have high level of miscreants in Yoruba land

Its not correlating
Don't be deceived. A number of those alaye boys are also Igbo, but they have learnt how to speak Yoruba, and have joined the band of miscreants. I spotted Chinedu, my neighbour's apprentice who ran away with his money some years back, at Isale Eko. Chinedu now speaks fluent Yoruba with a gangsta accent, and even sports an earring in one ear. I was shocked the day I saw him. Even in Onitsha, there are plenty of miscreants lurking around, especially at the markets and near the bridge. Do you want to deny it?

Bros, you can lie, o! shocked Which day did Chemiron International become an Igbo-owned company? This firm is owned by Indians, please! Mr. Suresh Jobanputra used to be the Chairman.

And why did you include NIPCO in your list? The same NIPCO that is a joint venture between IPMAN and an Indian company? The same NIPCO that just bought over Mobil Oil downstream operations?

And DN Meyer Plc is certainly not an Igbo-owned company. Mr. Kayode Falowo a Chartered Stockbroker is the current Chairman of the company, who took over from Sir Remi Omotoso the former Chairman. DN Meyer Plc, was established in 1960. It used to be known as Hagemeyer Nigeria Ltd, before it was sold to Dunlop Nigeria Plc, in 1994. Citiprops then bought over DN Meyer in 2010. sad

And you now included Portland Paints. Maka gini? Portland Paints that has been bought over by UAC since 2013. Or is UAC now an Igbo-owned company?

Portland Paints and Products Nig Plc started off as a small division of a large cement manufacturing company, West African Portland Cement (WAPCO). It was incorporated into a limited liability company in 1985, Portland Paints and Products Nig Plc became a an independent company in 2004 and later became a public company on 3rd April 2008 , it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday 9th July 2009. Portland Paints became a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc in June 2013 after UAC acquired 51% equity stake in the company.http://www.portlandpaintsng.com/about.html
And then you added Livestock Feeds Plc to your list. Why? shocked Who told you that it was owned by Igbo people? Livestock feeds was set up by Pfizer Nigeria Ltd in 1963. Later, Pfizer divested its interest in Livestock Feeds in 1996 - 1997, and its interest was acquired by Adset Ltd through a Management Buy-Out (M.B.O).

Not long afterwards, First Capital Trust Limited was engaged as Turnaround Managers in 2005, and First Capital Trust Limited replaced Adset as the Core investor. Also Cashcraft Asset Management became the second largest shareholder. Both First Capital Trust & Cashcraft are not even remotely owned by Igbo. So what are you saying? huh

And now, I can see that you included Glencore , in your list of companies owned by Igbo people. Haba! Do not let those in the oil & gas industry laugh at you. Dr. ABC Orjiako merely traded with Glencore UK. He does NOT own it, pls! shocked

Glencore Plc (an acronym for Global Energy Commodity Resources) is an Anglo–Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company with headquarters in Baar, Switzerland, and a registered office in Saint Helier, Jersey. The current company was created through a merger of Glencore with Xstrata on 2 May 2013. It is the world's third-largest family business. As Glencore International, the company was already one of the world's leading integrated producers and marketers of commodities. It was the largest company in Switzerland and the world's largest commodities trading company, with a 2010 global market share of 60% in internationally tradable zinc, 50% in internationally tradable copper, 9 percent in the internationally tradable grain market and 3 percent in the internationally tradable oil market. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glencore

Seems you have a terrible hangover? Or could it be that you lack basic comprehension skill?.Can you please copy me where I wrote or even implied that EVERY ethnic group in SS is Igbo? Or just shut up if you don't know the meaning of "Igbos and Igboids in SS and NC"

The only funny person I see here is the one flinging the "minority" tag around. It sounds even more clownish when you try to stick that silly tag on Igbos. grin
Did you even read what I wrote, before you jumped on your keyboard to hash out this ridiculous response? shocked You just proved to everyone that you are the only one here who lacks basic comprehension skills. sad

Weren't you the one whining about how people did not see the Igbos in the SS & NC, as part of the greater Igbo population who occupy the SE? Wasn't it just pointed out to you, that the reason was because of the sweeping generalisations your people often make, whenever they talk about the SS & NC, as they try to lump everyone in those regions, into their own group? Didn't Nnamdi Kanu claim that he was offered the 5 SE states, but he rejected it because Benue & Rivers were not included? Are all the ethnic groups in Benue & Rivers part of the larger Igbo ethnic group? Why couldn't he be specific? huh

Now kindly take your own advice & please shut up. We all know that when guys like you run out of constructive ideas, they resort to insults. No one is interested in carrying out a slanging match with you. undecided Nobody is slinging a minority tag on the Igbo, so only God knows where you got the idea from!

I kinda find it so interesting that some Nairaland Yorubas crave to be united with their linguistic cousins (who are not necessarily their ethnic comrades) in both Kwara and Kogi states.

But somehow these same Nairaland Yorubas would throw tantrums, get aggressive and oppose igbos fiercely each time they see the Nairaland Igbos in the SS, NC and those in the SE seeking to reunite in real time.

How on earth can a people be so aggressively opposed to the very same thing they covet so much, simply because they see it in others?

Please enlighten me.
I am not Yoruba, but I have heard so much about this issue from your people that it is starting to grate on everyone's nerves. I want to believe that you are being sarcastic, funny or maybe just trying to create mischief. sad Each time the issue of the South-South (SS), or North-Central (NC) comes up, you and your people are always the first to classify the entire region (i.e. SS) as Igbo. But each time your people do so, the ethnic minorities within those regions are the ones that make a fuss, telling you that their entire region is not Igbo, but only a few groups within it, have an Igbo identity or ethnic ties. And usually, it is members of those few groups, that even say they do not want to be classified with you. Or haven't you heard some Ikweres declining to be classified as Igbo? huh

I do not know why you or your people always make such sweeping generalisations. undecided This issue has been debated endlessly on this forum. When talking about the SS, please be specific about the tribes you wish to classify as part of your ethnic group. Do not lump everyone together. There are many different ethnic groups in the SS, who are NOT Igbo. Why is that so difficult for you to understand? huh Same goes for the North-Central, too. Only the Umuezekoha group in a small part of Benue, share ties with your people. But when you guys write your disjointed epistles, you classify the entire Benue as your domain. Why??! shocked

Nigerian German Chemicals Plc, (NGC) has had an interesting, but rather chequered history. It started life as Hoechst Products in Ikeja area of Lagos. Hoechst Products Nigeria Limited was set up in 1964 to sell pharmaceutical and industrial chemicals. But by 1995, the company decided to divest from Nigeria, and it was sold to the Shonekan family. They renamed it Nigerian German Chemicals Plc, (NGC) and increased their shareholding of the firm, on the stock exchange. Among its superior range of products are Benylin Expectorant (for Adults & Children), Broncholyte Elixir, Colipan Tablets & Syrup, Glanil, Gluformin, NGC Valgin - a brand of Acetaminophen 500mg, Daga, Tabalon, Sparwassar Flavoured Waters (Apple and Lime Flavor) etc.

Eyitayo Adeboye Shonekan, a lawyer, became Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian-German Chemicals PLC in 1999, and its' Vice-Chairman in 1998. He had joined the firm earlier in 1995 as an Executive Director, and was responsible for Materials Management, Logistics and Import Financing. Prior to NGC, he served as an Investment Officer of International Finance Corporation, a subsidiary of the World Bank from 1990 to 1995. He also serves as a Director of several other companies, including Universe Reinsurance Limited, Unic Insurance PLC, Virgin Nigeria Limited, Critical Rescue International and Intersource S A Limited. Shonekan graduated from the University of Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom in 1986. He also attended the Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1998.

For many years 'Deboye Sonekan was at the helm of the company, and under his watch, the company diversified into the manufacture of household consumer products like detergents, bleaches and disinfectants. The diversification proved successful.

Nigerian German Chemicals Plc, (NGC) is one of Nigeria's premier manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceutical, consumer products and oil & gas field chemicals. Born out of Hoechst Nigeria, NGC has over 45 years pedigree, in manufacturing quality products. Building on its solid multinational heritage, NGC's commitment to 'best practice' in business management and the pursuit of manufacturing excellence has enabled it to forge strategic relationships with a number of blue chip companies to complement its long standing tradition of manufacturing quality local brands. NGC stands out as Nigeria's foremost indigenous enterprise in the pharmaceutical and chemical fields, providing world-class companies with a vehicle to promote their products in this most challenging of environments. https://www.emis.com/php/company-profile/AC/Nigerian-German_Chemicals_Plc_en_2037244.html; http://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/people/person.asp?personId=29536536&privcapId=20357361
In 2015, the Sonekan family decided to sell off part of its large shareholding in Nigerian German Chemicals Plc, to a Mauritius fund-management company, Advanced Finance and Investment Group (AFIG Funds) for $14 million USD. Part of the funds will be invested in the NGC. The new firm has fully taken over as the new core investor in the company, and the Sonekan family (as well as NGC) has walked away with a very tidy sum in foreign currency.

Shonekan had hailed the investment from AFIG Funds as the much-needed catalyst to accelerate the growth of the company.

“The partnership with AFIG Funds represents a unique opportunity for NGC. AFIG Funds brings not only capital to accelerate the company’s growth and expansion, but also support to management and international experience that is already helping to strengthen the company’s ability to seize new market opportunities. NGC has a long and proud history as a leader in Africa’s largest market, and we look forward to building on this legacy to help strengthen the Nigerian healthcare sector, as well as facilitate access to world-class medicines for the people of Nigeria,” Shonekan said. http://thenationonlineng.net/new-mauritius-core-investor-takes-over-nigerian-german-chemicals/

Lagos state has taken over LCC. They just retained the name. As with anything Govt, the maintenance culture is off. That's why it hurts so bad whenever I have to pay the toll.

The road is a nightmare. Why can't they do something of good quality? There was a Monday, maybe 2 or so weeks ago that it took over 3 hours to get from Chevron to the toll gate.

I haven't really passed the Ajah bridge since it was opened. How is the traffic in the mornings?
Are you sure about this? When exactly did Lagos state take over LCC? I have a friend who works there and he said nothing like that happened....
I just believe the company has been infected with the poor maintenance culture we have in this country. Afterall, they make a lot of money from the toll gate, so what is their excuse?
