Bros, if you want to relocate I beg, don't go near Lekki - Ajah to Ibeju-Lekki area in Lagos, oh! You will regret it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Let us start from Lekki Phase 1. They get 6 hours of light once every 48 hours. They sleep in the dark and wake up in the dark, because Eko Disco, the younger cousins of PHCN have decided to withold power on a semi-permanent basis. The only people that go to bed with light on and still wake up with electricity running, are those that live in serviced apartments with a back-up generator, or those that have decided to run their gensets 24/7. undecided

Moving further down to Ajah, the district for the masses, the story gets worse. If you make it further down the road to Lakowe, you will weep. Their power supply is like candlelight and even on the rare occasions that it decides to show its' face, it is quite epileptic like an 'abiku' child.

Bros, make I stop here....areas like Bogije along the Lekki expressway make me feel like crying! sad

I have no wish to develop hypertension. Let me look for petrol to fuel my generator jeje, before I resume this conversation... cry

WOW....Lagos to Calabar @ 120km per hour huh

This will definitely be a transformation for our transport/rail sector when it becomes operational.

I hope GEJ//FG will make it a reality. God bless the FRN!
This train/rail that the Chinese are building for Nigeria, will it be a bullet train system? huh At least, it should be better than the Gatwick Express.

I sincerely hope we get a modern train system soon....the refurbished locomotive types are really uncomfortable and slow! In fact, they constitute a real health hazard. angry

No offense, if you're a serious business man, you won't be saying this because it is his money while you have your car, he said he will bid for 3.8M, what is left for you is to negotiate with him once he bid but am not sure he is willing to bid.

I was only advising him to bid on it, does that make you angry? Comon, you need to realize that this is open site where ppl come and check stuff to buy.

If this car is easy to sell, why is it not sold since? This is a Nigeria used and anything Nigeria used is not something you can hike the price.

We have free of speech here and if you think you can get angry on comments here, then delete your thread and move on!...

Thank you.
May God bless you 20 times daily, and 1 million times on Sundays!

Negotiation is a fact of life and a trademark of business. I don't know why the poster MajolAuto has chosen to view it as a sign of disrespect. I beg, make I pocket my money dey waka comot....I fit see another one for yonder.... undecided

Loujay:
Good enough I happened to be present in that Court today when the Ruling of Hon. Justice Ajumogobia was being delivered. One really needed to see the broad, big smile on FFK's face as he was being discharged and acquitted on Counts 1 to 24 and Counts 27 to 40. The guy just dey form 'badt guy' levels grin as in him too much cheesy. Truth be told, the grounds of law on which the learned Justice discharged him of those 38 Count Charges were so on point (only if you're legally minded o) wink. But he still has much to worry and sweat about with the retained two Count Charges he's been called upon to enter his defence come 8/12/14. So, let all folks here who are uninformedly condemning the Judge, the judiciary and GEJ hold their peace. It's not over yet wt FFK until it is completely over. Somethings were most noticeable as per the principles of law upon which the Judge gave her Ruling: 1) Neither FFK nor GEJ wrote those laws 2) The Judge applied the law as it is written and ought to be applied vis-a-vis the circumstances of the case and 3) the Judge is not the author of those laws. One may suggest we cut 'them' some slacks instead of misplaced and pointless hurling of insolence. MY 1 CENT!
Please share your learned insight on the points made by the judge, especially the part where "...the Judge applied the law as it is written and ought to be applied vis-a-vis the circumstances of the case".

We are all ears! cool

I think people should shun hypocrisy. You cannot lambast people for blaming GEJ for everything negative yet turn around to credit him for everything positive.
Abeg, tell them!! wink

Even if the truth came and hit them in their faces, they would still deny it. May God continue to bless Yar'adua's soul, till eternity.

Sincere9gerian:
You're the APC attack dog assigned to discredit the railway sector.
Meanwhile, What do you hav against trains taking huge burden off our roads as shown in the picture? Are you more intelligent than the private firms or passengers who patronise the Nigeria railway?
You keep elevating deception and ignorance to a high art. The fact that NRC and TAN are paying you to launder their image, does not give you the right to cast aspersions on those speaking the truth.

The inability of NRC to transform the overcrowded, filthy, disease-carrying coaches to sane, orderly carriage units will forever haunt them. angry
So one million pictures of freight-carrying trains or goods transportation will not cover up their inability to rid the passenger coaches of filth, dirt, overcrowding, suffocation, lousy timing and disgusting services offered to passengers. undecided

Continue celebrating the revival of trains which is over 3 years old for the next 5 years, if it makes you feel better. You are not deceiving anybody. The passengers that take the Lagos-Jebba route, Lagos - Kano route and Lagos - Ijoko route can see through your tissue of lies which you keep using to try and massage NRC's ineptitude and crass inefficiency. angry
Politics › Re: The Rails Are Back & Alive. by laudate:
All the people that are excited about the rail system have NOT taken a trip on any of the trains. Please hop on the train from Lagos to Kano or from Lagos to Ilorin, and come back here to share your experience.

Until then, please refrain from blowing the TAN trumpet. angry

The trains were revived since 2011/2012. But there has been NO further improvement in the services since then. The overcrowded, filthy dirty coaches without running water in the toilets have become the trademark of our rail service. Thank God, none of the Ebola victims decided to take a train ride. Nigeria would have had an epidemic on its hands. Yet, people are still clapping about the revival of the passenger trains almost 3 years since it was enacted. When are people going to move on to other more important things? huh

Is it a crime to ask for improvement of the services on the rail coaches? Why does everyone keep quiet about the abysmal services that Nigerian Railway Corporation is dishing out to its passengers on a daily basis? Yet, they keep celebrating the revival of the trains, since like ...forever?

It is ILLEGAL to carry huge sums of undisclosed cash into another country. That breaks money laundering laws. Why not support people doing the right thing?

Some of you complain about Nigeria having issues but never have the sense to see that you're part and parcel of the rot.
Have you been living on Mars? shocked Haven't you read all the news reports? If the 2nd $9.7 million USD cash transaction was regarded as 'money laundering,' what about the 1st transaction of $5.7 million USD? shocked

When the first transaction involving $5.7 million USD was wired to the arms dealers in South Africa, the SA government did not see anything wrong with it. They kept quiet. When that same company expected to sell the arms to Nigeria could not go through with it, and decided to return the same $5.7 million USD by wire transfer, the South African government now woke up, and confiscated the funds, citing 'money laundering' excuses.

Na who be mumu?

Amounts far in excess of these figures are moved across borders internationally by organisations such as Travelex, MoneyCorp, American Express etc., who airlift foreign currency in cash, via sealed tagged boxes using planes, jets etc., under heavy security throughout the world on a daily basis, as part of their international currency operations. These firms are accredited by the Central Banks of various countries and the Federal Reserve Bank of US to carry out this function.

Once you have all the requisite documentation, authorisation and approvals from the Central Bank departments of the countries involved, you can move any amount, anywhere!

Ee-ey-yah! May his soul rest in peace. cry cry

He did the documentary film "Africa : The Triple Heritage".
Professor Ali A. Mazrui was the International Global and Cultural School Director and Albert Schweitzer Professor in the Humanities/Professor in Political Science, African Studies and Philosophy, Interpretation and Culture at the State University of New York at Binghampton.

Prof. Mazrui was born in Mombasa, Kenya, on February 24, 1933. He was Albert Schweitzer Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Institute of Global Cultural Studies at Binghamton University, State University of New York.

He is also Albert Luthuli Professor-at-Large at the University of Jos in Nigeria. He is Andrew D. White Professor-at-Large Emeritus and Senior Scholar in Africana Studies at Cornell University. Dr. Mazrui has also served as Chancellor of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya — an appointment made by Kenya's Head of State. Mazrui was Ibn Khaldun Professor-at-Large, Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, Leesburg, Virginia (1997–2000). He was also Walter Rodney Professor at the University of Guyana, Georgetown, Guyana (1997–1998). Mazrui obtained his B.A. with Distinction from Manchester University in England, his M.A. from Columbia University in New York, and his doctorate from Oxford University in England. For ten years he was at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, where he served as head of the Department of Political Science, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences as well as Dean of the Faculty of Law. He once served as Vice-President of the International Political Science Association and has lectured in five continents.

Professor Mazrui also served as Professor of Political Science (1974–1991) and as Director of the Center for Afro-American and African Studies (1978–1981) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has also been Visiting Scholar at Stanford, Chicago, Colgate, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Oxford, Harvard, Bridgewater, Cairo, Leeds, Nairobi, Teheran, Denver, London, Ohio State, Baghdad, McGill, Sussex, Pennsylvania, etc. Dr. Mazrui has also served as Special Advisor to the World Bank
http://www.judiciary.go.ke/portal/assets/files/NEWS/BIO%20FOR%20PROFESSOR%20ALI%20Mazrui.pdf
He once said "
"..... In one sense, I identify with all African countries and with the African Diaspora. But it is true that there are some particular African countries which have intersected with my own life more than others.

Kenya is the birth place of my academic career and the initial engine of my rise to professional pre-eminence;

Nigeria is the land of my African wife’s birth [Pauline Uti] and the country which inspired the emotions of my only novel, The Trial of Christopher Okigbo. Nigeria is also the country which made it possible for me to combine an appointment in Africa (University of Jos) with an appointment in the Western world (University of Michigan). The Nigerian Television Authority also joined forces with the BBC in Britain and the PBS in the US to produce my television series, “The Africans: A Triple Heritage”.

Ghana was the country which had a greater impact on my Oxford doctoral dissertation, and Tanzania is the vanguard of my own Swahili culture. Kiswahili is my mother tongue."

Mazrui therefore comes forward as a diasporan whose ideas are generated within the context of Africa’s multifaceted cultural, socio-political and economic challenges. Yet, it is not difficult to confer the honour of a Nigerian citizenship on him less for his marriage to a Nigerian, but more for his contributions as a political scientist to the understanding, resolution and revival of Africa, nay Nigeria, as a force in global affairs.

Anyway sha, I don't blame anybody but the married women. Yee-ee-ess!! cool

Before most of these married women (not all) got married to these men, they already knew that most of the men were serial philanderers. Did they go for counselling or take an exit from the relationship, when they discovered the man had another girlfriend on the sidelines in addition to them? No! angry

They stayed put in the relationship, and decided to hang in there for the long haul thinking it was a joke and 'the other woman' would finally give up. Some of them chose to turn a blind eye to their men's infidelity, believing that he would change after marriage. Okay, oh! sad

Others chose to swallow their men's lies, each time he comes begging after yet another indiscretion, instead of taking a walk and waiting for a man that would value them and the concept of fidelity, in its totality.

Finally, such men ended up proposing, took them to the altar and happily said "I do!" And they thought the struggle was over.

The women were happy, thinking they had finally won the contest and landed the guy of their dreams. undecided

They forgot that a leopard can never change its spots. In fact, such spots can also multiply given certain terms and conditions.

When such men reverted true to type, choosing to resume their wanderlust for pretty young things called the opposite sex, the women now started crying 'blue murder'! They started pointing accusing fingers at the single girls.... grin

Let me stop here for now.....time to take a commercial break. cool
